Diner Reviews
  • "Great restaurant! Awesome atmosphere. Portion sizing was a bit on the small side, but otherwise amazing experience"
    Dined on 4/11/2014
  • "Excellent menu variety, great cocktails and very attentive and friendly staff...a bit pricey but would still recommend. We had a fantastic time"
    Dined on 4/11/2014
  • "Food was delicious! The waiter was very good, except he kept pouring wine in my glass without asking if I wanted more (which I didn't). View is incredible!"

  • "This was our first time visiting XIX. We came for Sunday brunch to celebrate our son's birthday and were not disappointed! Very nice selection of salads, seafood, fruits and desserts--not overwhelming in the display but there was something for every taste. The main courses were properly portioned and everything was delicious. The dining room was a bit noisy but overall the experience was very enjoyable; we would definitely come back."
    Dined on 4/6/2014
  • "Every dish from the appetizer to dessert was delicious. The service was on point and very helpful. The bar scene was secluded enough from the dining room that you didn't hear it. The dining room has that high class, ancient Philadelphia architecture that was fun to look at and admire while waiting."

  • "Our second visit in a few months. Raw bar and cooked dishes were excellent and service got us to the orchestra with time to spare."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "We had dinner before a show - the staff was very accomdating, service was great. The food was very good. We where not rushed and we made our show with out an issue. The place has a great view of city on a nice clear day - it was cloudly on our visit. I would recommend for a special occasion, it is on the pricy side however not much different then most of the high end restaurants in Philly."

  • "19 is on the 19th floor. Thats its thing. Looking for a great quiet and neat place for an exciting brunch buffet.. well done with an amazing view of the city fmo the 19th floor.., then this is the place. Its a buffet, and the spread was nice, but not exceptional. I have not been there for dinner, so i can not comment. You come here for the view for a reasonably priced Sunday brunch, with a great view. Great place to take your date for brunch, if you are spending the night in the city."

  • "Even with confirmed reservations, we had to wait 30 minutes for our table. Ordered wine which never arrived. The server never check to see if we liked the dinners."

  • "I went to celebrate my friends 21st birthday.. First off, the waiter treated us like we were 5 years old. I am a server, and have served for over 6 years.. The waiter obviously assumed he was not going to receive a tip from "young" diners, and clearly did not put in an effort to serving us. There was a notable difference in how he treated and talked to us, and then the table next to us. We still left him ten dollars over 20% as a tip, but it would have been nice to not be stereotyped, and served like adults. The food was amazing, the dessert was amazing, and the cocktails were great as well! I definitely recommend getting a window seat, the view is amazing, and try to get there just as the sun sets!"

  • "I took my husband here for his birthday and I was at a lost for words and upset that I hadn't found this place sooner! The ambiance was to die for, the service was impeccable, and our view of city hall at night was priceless! I would recommend the salmon with king crab cluster as a main dish. Please don't hesitate going here; you will enjoy yourself!! I can't wait to go back!"

  • "Nineteen is always a treat. Consistently delicious, gorgeous setting, lovely staff, great variety on the fixed priced Cafe Lunch. Make that reservation and get in there! After the winter we've had, go ahead and treat yourself. (Good parking deal if you get your ticket stamped, too.)"

  • "Table for 8.beautiful spot in main dining room with great view. The scallops were amazing with an incredible sauce. All enjoyed their meals. The desserts were great. Try their version of cheesecake. What a delicious twist. Will go back again!"

  • "This was a truly memorable dining experience. I recommend requesting the cafe under the dome, rather than the restaurant itself. Much quieter and more spacious."

  • "This is one of our favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. We always stay at the Hyatt when in Philadelphia and always dine at Nineteen. The food and service is the best. Our favorite server, Chuck, and restaurant Manager, Adam always make us feel so welcome. This is a must visit for those visiting Philadelphia. Carl Schleicher"

  • "We dined here for my dad's birthday and it was excellent. The service was great and so was the good. We ate in the semi private wine cellar room which we really neat!"

  • "My co-worker and myself were in town to do business and looked at open table for recommendations and reservations. This was an excellent choice. Food presentation was unique and portion size was appropriate. Seasoned perfectly. I had champagne brie soup and trout. Both were beyond compare. My co-worker had mushroom salad and lamb. Again the food was excellent. Wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Excellent wine choices and warm bread as an appetizer. All in all a great meal."

  • "This restaurant has fantastic food at a very reasonable price. Their wine list is comprehensive and their liquor selection is choice, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a classy evening out."

  • "Everyone loves the lunch at XIX! Fun to get the optional 3-course special - 1st and 3rd courses are buffet, 2nd course from limited menu. The desserts are small and delicious! Beautiful views, light, spacious, quiet, relaxing. Attentive, courteous and friendly service. I have been there many times and will return again and recommend it to friends. Discount parking with validated ticket."

  • "This was my first time at XIX. I have been wanting to try it for a long time. The room is very impressive with it's high domed ceiling and large windows. My daughter and I had requested a window table through OpenTable and that is where we were seated. We had the VERY reasonable fixed price lunch. We especially liked the appetizer and dessert buffet, but with an entree that is ordered off the menu. I'm not a lover of buffets, so having the main dish served was a nice change. All the food was good. We enjoyed our entree as well as the appetizers of selected meats, cheeses, and salads....and the desserts were wonderful. The service was efficient, yet friendly. We had a very enjoyable time and will certainly return."

  • "Excellent brunch at a steal. Terrific price for the offerings! Beautiful room and friendly staff! Perfect pre-show meal given proximity to the Academy of Music!"
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "The atmosphere here is second to none! Too beautiful for words. Service was very friendly and our waitress was helpful with the beer selections we had questions about. We all enjoyed our dinner and had varied dishes from the organic chicken to sea bass, steak and short rib. The potato gnocchi that came with some of the dishes was outstanding! Pleasantly surprised that the price was more reasonable than expected. I would love to take out of town visitors here for dinner!"

  • "Beautiful hotel and restaurant, going on 110 years old, and still gorgeous and swanky--with plenty to make everyone happy, no matter how old or young. We had a glorious dinner, and amazing service, in a room that is still the most beautiful in the city. In fact, the only room as pretty we can think of is the Barrymore room across the hall from XIX, where the Bellevue serves breakfast and brunch. The Hyatt has been, as far as we can tell, faithful to the legacy of this landmark hotel, where my husband's parents met and fell in love more than 50 years ago."

  • "And you're in Philadelphia, you better be going here. Atop a beautiful hotel in the heart of Philadelphia, XIX was an incredible experience especially with a special someone. The food is somewhat pricey but justifiably so. Everything tasted fantastic and was made just to order. The ONLY drawback we experienced was the balcony being closed, but we came in early Spring and the Winter in Philadelphia has been as unforgiving as it's sports fans, so it being closed until things were more reliable was completely understandable. Would recommend XIX 10/10 times."

  • "Fabulous food, but service was not on par with the rest of the meal. Server never came to fill our water glasses for the entire meal. Fortunately, the meal was so delicious that it did not bother me too much that the service was below average."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Even if you didn't know it in advance, by the end you would realize this is a restaurant operated by a hotel chain. Food was similar to what you would eat at a banquet or wedding. Nothing special."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Overall, the food was good, not great. But you have to try the crab cake which our waiter gave a five minute pitch on why it's the best he's had in the East Coast. The contrast btwn the sweet red pepper jelly and tart mustard, combined with the virtually crab-only cake, does make this a winner app, so we agreed with him. We also had the octopus salad, which was good. Entree was the short rib, which was good, but lacked seasoning. Don't even waste your time on dessert - quite disappointing! The architecture and ambience - spectacular and romantic - A+. The service - knowledgeable and attentive - A+. Food - solid B+."

  • "Very convenient to the Kimmel Center, wait staff was very attentive and took into account our needs since we had an 8:00 show. We made it with plenty of time to spare! Also gave us a complimentary glass of wine!"

  • "Everything is amazing. Only downside I saw was that the balcony is closed during the winter, but understandably so because it's freezing outside!"
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "Superb service in an elegant setting. A little pricey, but meal was fantastic and I really appreciated the recommendations of our server. Wine was also very good. Great place to dine before a show at the Academy of Music."

  • "The food and the atmosphere are tremendous but it was the personalized service from our greeting at the door from Arcelia Tucker, all the way through dinner that impressed me. The restaurant manager personally introduced himself and asked if there was anything he could do to add to our dinning experience..1st class!"

  • "My husband and I dined with our adult children and were assigned a small private room. Everything was exceptional - the service, the food. We had a lovely time and all sampled one another's plates. In particular, the tuna ceviche special, the grilled octopus, the venison and the salmon were delectable. We were not seated in the main room, so I cannot comment on the view or the noise level. Very highly recommend for a special evening out."

  • "I love the 3 course lunch. Always a reliable nice way to pass an afternoon. I could take my mom there, my girlfriends there, or my boyfriend there. Fun view, fun people watching and eavesdropping, fun to get lost around the Bellevue."

  • "One of our favorite restaurants while staying at the Hyatt and visiting Philadelphia. We were lucky that Chuck who is one of our favorite servers was working. He just makes you feel you are part of the family and all the food dishes are wonderfully prepared and presented. A must visit when in Philadelphia. Carl Schleicher"

  • "Came in on a Saturday night, it wasn't all that busy. The view was fantastic, and the ambiance of the restaurant was just right for a romantic night out. Our server was very attentive, and the food was outstanding. The calamari appetizer was probably the best I've ever had, and the sea scallop dish was very flavorful. I would definitely come back again!"
