Nineteen - XIXIncredible brunchMay have been the BEST brunch buffet ever. Better than FOur seasns!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMelegant spotThis restaurant is among the prettiest anywhere. Food is very good. Service can be slow, but not annoyingly so. Views of the city are great, and in warm weather, outdoor tables are really nice.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday dinnerSee note to restaurant for more. This was a wonderful experience! Yes, the food was really good and the service excellent, etc. What made the night was the effort made by the entire staff to give us a wonderfully leisurely, quiet, private and intimate dining experience. It was as if we were the only people in the room...thank you. This was/is much appreciated and will bring us and our friends back for more of your delicious menu (we had the shrimp and the venison).5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFood Great, Service SpottyAll of our dishes, from octopus, crab cake and XIX salads to start, then short ribs, venison and salmon for mains, were exceptionally good. I have come here over the years and find the food decent but the room beautiful and charming. But on this night the food was superb! Service was frenetic, but improved once they discovered no one was waiting on us. (The front of house is chaotic and often confused.)5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall everything was great.Overall everything was great. The service was exceptional, very happy about that.
The only complaints were for the desert menu (we got the mango upside down). The desert we go did not go with the rest of the evening.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat are you waiting for? This is a wonderful spot for a slight splurge for lunch. The food is wonderful, with nice variety. The staff is lovely and attentive without being annoying. The setting is beautiful. I have treated many friends to lunch here for birthdays and other special occasions, and all my friends know that any time they'd like to treat me, XIX is the place to go. Make a reservation and try it, you can't go wrong.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first date ever! This was my first date ever! And this was my first time at the XIX Bellevue. What an experience to remember. She loved everything the service the food the wine the balcony view! It was the perfect restaurant for us! Thank you very much! See you again!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat venue to celebrate ourGreat venue to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Beautiful room, great service, and a thoughtful menu. Had it been warmer, the balcony dining would have added to the experience.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place never fails toThis place never fails to disappoint. The only area for improvement is waiting for coffee when you've gotten your desserts.
If you want coffee, be sure to place your order when your entrees are served.
The coffee is outstanding as well - but almost a separate course.
enjoy.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentGreat Place would recommend to anyone, lol yet I don't tell many people about the place. My wife and I love to have our own spots.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMTruly a neighborhood gem. DeliciousWe have been here for dinner and always enjoyed it. Our group had lunch after the morning concert and we all enjoyed our different lunch entrees. The place is beautiful, with a great view of the city. Service (Monique) was excellent. Overall, a great experience. Kuddos to the Chef for the flavorings!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFine food, skimpy wineWe like Nineteen-XIX for pre-theatre, opera or concert dining in an elegant setting. This time, I had the terrific octopus appetizer followed by a wonderfully-sauced whole brook trout, while my wife had the salmon. Both were delicious and nicely served. Our peeve with the restaurant is the skimpy pours of wines by the glass. I doubt either of us got more than 3 oz., if that, of average house wine.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food and greatOutstanding food and great service! I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to friends and family4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for a special event.Perfect for a special event. Had a very nice time.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here for my cousin'sWe went here for my cousin's bachelorette party dinner. Everyone loved the decor and the view of the Philadelphia sunset. It was gorgeous. The food was good. The group ordered the salmon, deconstructed pork, calamari, salad, and lobster risotto. Everything tasted delicious, except the pork dish. It was a bit dry. The girls also ordered a moscato white wine, a rubytini, and a mojito. The drinks were perfect. Our server was friendly and attentive so that made our dining experience enjoyable.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMmy boyfriend and I startedmy boyfriend and I started with cocktails and apps, the crab cocktail is amazing! we sat the in bar area and the view was fantastic! the staff and adam, the gm, in particular went above and beyond. then we moved into the pearly dining room; super romantic. the service was amazing and the wine list is even better! well absolutely be back and I want to check out the happy hour too because that menu also looked great. all and all we had an amazing experience and can't wait to go back!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat nightFood was great (steak) cooked to perfection. Service on point and bar trendy but unpretentious
Expensive drinks $124/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a Room! The Great Gatsby would not have been out of place here. They don't make graceful rooms like this anymore. A truly lavish, but not over-done space. They gave us a table at a window with a fabulous view of William Penn on top of City Hall.
Very good food. One person in our party wanted crab cakes as an entrée even though it was listed as an appetizer. Our well-prepared waiter quickly solved the problem by offering to bring out a double-appetizer portion at an appropriate price.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and i had a lovelyMy wife and i had a lovely dinner there last friday, it was our 28th wedding anniversary. it was our first visit , but will not be our last....this is our new place....4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful space with excellentBeautiful space with excellent food and service. The bar was crowded but is separate from the restaurant and did not spoil the dining experience. I enjoyed the venison, the XIX salad was good though not exceptional (my companion said the same of the Ceasar). The space is grand and has great views of Center City Philadelphia.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI brought a corporate groupI brought a corporate group of 10 here as a celebratory event and the night was perfect. The bar scene is very vibrant and fun (I would return just for drinks!). We had a great table in the main dining room with wonderful service. I noticed there are 2 private rooms for groups off of the main hallway which would be fun but they don't give you the wonderful view and atmostphere of the main dining area. Everyone was very happy with their food choices, from the seafood to the steaks to the desserts. 10 people with appetizers, entrees, desserts, and plenty of talking in between still got in and out within 2.5 hours without feeling rushed. Impressive! I will return and would recommend to others.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat restaurant on top florgreat restaurant on top flor of hyatt....amazing views in a lovely setting......food and service were very good....a wonderful dining experience.....definetly recommend when in area4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed a delicious andWe enjoyed a delicious and relaxing lunch in a beautiful and spacious place with an attentive and courteous server. I love the large windows with views of the city. I have often had the 3-course buffet which is wonderful, but this time I had only 1 course. This restaurant does an excellent job with fish. I will definitely return again and will recommend to friends. Discount parking in the hotel - the restaurant will validate ticket. Great place to take friends who are driving into the city.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBest brunch ever!Nineteen is unquestionably the best brunch in the city of Philadelphia - perhaps any city. The options, the preparation, the presentation - everything is perfection. The views from the top floor of the Hyatt - breathtaking. Anyone would feel incredibly special being treated to a meal here. HIGHLY recommend.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZING engagement thanks to XIX!Our server Wilmer & the rest of the staff at XIX made our engagement night a perfect evening. Thank you Wilmer (who really helped make our evening so special) & XIX for a memory that will last a lifetime! :)3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, not easy to findWe really enjoyed our entrees and the server was terrific - friendly and attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. Finding our way through the Bellevue lobby to the right elevators was not easy, and then navigating through what appeared to be unused hallways to the reception desk was certainly not romantic or even very welcoming. The reception at the front desk, however, was warm and efficient and we were quickly through the noisy bar area to a pleasant window table with a nice view.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AM21st Birthday CelebrationWe were celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday and the staff at XIX could not have been any better. They gave us a sincere and warm welcome as we entered the restaurant. We sat in the circle very close to a window with a beautiful view. The food was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. Our group consisted of ages from 18 through 50 and everyone raved about the meal, the food presentation and the impeccable service. At the end of lunch, our server presented my daughter with a dessert trio and "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the plate. I am so glad we picked XIX to share this special occasion with my daughter and close friends.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome for a first date!I went here for my first date, it was simply amazing. Everything was perfect.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSeating was in Dome Room/cafeSeating was in Dome Room/cafe due to a wedding reception in the main diningroom; we were advised of this when reservation was confirmed 48 hours in advance.
Lighting was inadequate with votive candles on table.
Bench seats are very deep; an optional pillow would have made the evening ( and eating especially) more comfortable.
There were elderly guests in shorts there on a Saturday evening.
Staff seemed distracted.
Food was excellent.
Noise level was great.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMNineteen is one of my favoriteNineteen is one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. The 22-dollar lunch menu is amazing, and I have brought several of my friends here. This place is a must-go! I highly recommend getting the steak; during my visits, the main course for the lunch menu consisted of three or four options: a pasta or pizza (risotto, penne, etc.); sandwich (panini); steak (red wine sauce or butternut squash puree); grilled fish. The desserts are also delectable - you get to try a little bit of everything, whether it be a scrumptious chocolate eclair with melt-in-your-mouth custard cream filling, a mocha creme brulee mini-tart, a rich chocolate chip cookie, or a carrot cake cupcake. The complimentary iced tea was also refreshing and delicious!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a fine pre-theatre mealWhat a fine pre-theatre meal we had at Nineteen - XIX! After a tasty octopus appetizer, we had braised lamb and butternut squash ravioli for entrees. Both were excellent, and the lamb was one of the best dishes of its' kind that I've had anywhere. Service was friendly and prompt. We haven't been to Nineteen for awhile, but will definitely return soon.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent - especiallyFood was excellent - especially the squash soup appetizer. I had scallops in a fig reduction; my husband had snapper with black rice - both delicious. Service was a little slow - allow plenty of time if you are going to a show. Our reservation was at 5:30 and we finished about 7:20.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMPreballet brunchBeautiful room with high domed ceiling elegant central table set with pastries and salads and desserts unusual sushi table for brunch3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was awesome. On theFood was awesome. On the expensive side but you DO get great food and a stunning ambiance so, for me, a perfect "Special occasion" treat.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMy boyfriend and I spent aMy boyfriend and I spent a romantic evening here on 03/16/2013. We traveled down from NYC and I didn't know anything about the restaurant before finding it in OpenTable. I was pleasantly surprised by the breathtaking view of Philadelphia as well as the gorgeous decor inside the restaurant. The food was amazing, the service prompt, and the elegant atmosphere made for an unforgettable evening. Will definitely be returning!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGo if you like seafoodMy wife and I went there prior to a show. The staff was friendly and helpful. The ambiance was romantic. We shared the seafood sampler for two and a crab cake. Both were phenomenal. It's not cheap, but worth it.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed Nineteen!Celebrated our anniversary at Nineteen on a Saturday evening. The ambiance was outstanding and the view was wonderful. Request a seat by the window. They went above and beyond for our anniversary including dessert and champagne on the house. I had the scallops, which were uniquely paired with polenta and thinly slices apples. It was excellent. My husband had the ribeye but wasn't overly impressed. It had wonderful flavor but was quite thin, less than inch thick, therefore you don't get a nice medium rare center on a thin steak. Its worth the trip, if only for a cocktail to check out the view.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat architectural features.Great architectural features. Lovely room with a rotunda ceiling. Food was very good and plentiful. The prix fix lunch was well worth the money. Fun place to lunch.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a delight to lunchAlways a delight to lunch at XIX! One of the very best lunch deals in the city.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely WonderfulThe service and food were absolutely delightful. Our waiter started with the tuna tartar and the XIX salad for appetizers. The tuna was fresh and flavorful. The salad was very interesting, tart & sweet.
For our entrees we had the lamb & striped bass. Both were excellent. The lamb melted in your mouth and the striped bass was seasoned to perfection. The cookie cake dessert rounded out a wonderful evening. The food and drinks were out of this world.
My only criticism was the restaurant was a little chilly. I know rooms with 30 foot ceilings are difficult to heat and maybe if we came on the weekend with larger crowds the room could be warmer. But for mid-week, the restaurant had several empty tables. However, this is a place to return to.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMwith a baby shower going onwith a baby shower going on in the same room, combined with the domed ceiling that carries the sound, it was not the best time we've had there. however, it's so delicious and the ambiance is fabulous, so we will continue to go and hope it isn't when there's an event going on.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOh my... My!Great atmosphere, I was seated for dinner near a window that face Northwest of the Center City with a great view. Steve from Daytona Beach was my waiter and he did a great job. After a long day in the office for starters jumped on Basil Pomegranate Margarita (siembra azul resposado tequila, pomegranate liqueur, fresh lime juice, organic basil). I began with the seafood tasting - serves two (as my main course of oysters, littleneck clams, shrimp, jumbo lump, crab, diver scallops.) which was out of this world with the prosecco. The oxtail looked so good, I order a the entree to go.
This was a most decadent dining experience before the forging a head to the opera to see Silent Night.2/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe 3-course buffet was aThe 3-course buffet was a tasty way to celebrate the holiday and I have enjoyed it many times before. Service was attentive and courteous. The room is spacious and bright with beautiful views of the city. It's cheerful but quiet enough to have a conversation. The best lunch in town. Discount parking at the hotel is a plus for people driving in to the city.12/27/2012 12:00:00 AM
