  • "Saturday night rib special is epic. $19 for a full rack with fries and slaw. They bring it out on a cafeteria tray which makes the experience since it is a nicer place. These are the best ribs I have had in a very long time. These are NOT fall off the bone, they are smoked correctly!"

  • "Hesitant to keep our reservation after arriving as there were 2 banquet parties also using the Sunday brunch line. However, the line moved quickly and the food and service were very good. Glad to see that the restaurant is doing well."

  • "Fish fry is one of the best I have had in the entire Milwaukee area. Ask for Mark as your server. He did a great job!"

  • "Lot of changes since my last visit 10 years ago. Love the fact that the restaurant is open to the public. Wonderful separate bar area and very classy. Service was outstanding. We were there on a Wednesday so not super busy. New ownership has the right marketing approach. I would bet Friday and Saturdays are even better. We would revisit."

  • "A must try fish fry. I have had it two weeks in a row and it's among the best around."

  • "Service was beyond poor. Left 4 messages over 3 days to confirm reservations --with no return call. Food took over 1 hour to arrive (cold)! Our server should not have been permitted to deal with customers--diffidently inexperienced. Overall, I would be extremely embarrassed to take any family or friends in the future."

  • "The Nines was highly recommended to us and another couple, but did not live up to expectations. The hot food was luke warm at best and the sirloin meat was very stringy and hard to chew. The best part was the desserts which were very good. Also the bottomless mimosas turned out to be 1 each."

  • "We came to Nines American Bistro to celebrate our anniversary and have a good meal, and we weren't disappointed. The staff--from restaurant manager to table "bussers"--were warm, friendly and extremely professional. The food was outstanding--my salmon was moist and flavorful with vegetables done to a perfect crisp/tender, and my husband's walleye fillet was equally delicious. Dessert, a "drunken turtle" sundae, was decadently rich and generous enough for us to share and still satisfy a sweet-tooth. This was our first time as patrons of this restaurant--we chose it because we were married at this country club 44 years ago. It won't be our last visit. We highly recommend Nines based on our experiences--and we're pretty fussy!"

  • "We have been there several times for bunch, we have brought a few family and friends, it is always good, it didn't matter if it was just the 2 of us or a party of 7, wait staff always a pleasure, has something for everyone, beautiful view"

  • "My girlfriend and I used to love going to The Nines, but now they have changed management/ ownership, kitchen staff, service staff, etc. The service was fantastic. My plate of walleye, steamed carrots, and fried potato wedges was alright (undercooked carrots, super greasy potato wedges); however, my date's plate of a sirloin steak with a twice baked potato and asparagus tasted like they dumped salt over the entire plate. Both of us were quite disappointed and we probably won't go back for another ($100.00 +) meal. Very disappointed in my old favorite restaurant. At least the wine was good..."

  • "What a perfect way to celebrate our daughter and son-in-law's 2 year wedding anniversary at the Nine's American Bistro. They were married at the beautiful River Club Mequon 2 years ago. We had a wonderful experience then and had a fantastic dinner this past Saturday. The food was absolutely delicious, the service extraordinary (thank you Connie) and the atmosphere delightful. We will definitely not wait another 2 years to return to this wonderful restaurant.."

  • "Ordered the bone-in ribeye and there was a lot of gristle. Not marbling, but up edible gristle. My dog loved my $40 steak. Ordered side of creamed spinach, which was served sautéed, not creamed. Served a dirty wine decanter and we had to ask to have it cleaned. Service and atmosphere are great."

  • "1st time they has this innovative menu with flights where you could build small plates into a 'm meal. That was nice. Now they have a limited selection and are very pricey. Food was good but not worth the 20oz ribeye at $42"

  • "The Nines did a great job on Father's day. The buffet they offered for brunch was delicious. We were greeted promptly with mimosas while they tried to minimize the burden on the servers by seating tables individually. We were a little perplexed by the fact that the waitress did not come to offer us coffee until we had been up to the buffet, but we went up without talking to her so it was fine. The salmon was the "good" kind (my daughter's words). The beef was perfectly cooked for my husband - rare. The eggs were delicious, the yogurt bar with fresh raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries along with granola was my favorite. Finally the desserts were great too. Most loved the chocolate fountain, I loved the chocolate torte."

  • "Beautiful view of golf course below. Room was nicely appointed. I hear that the Sunday brunch is excellent although have never experienced it. Waiter was nice but inexperienced. Forgot a few things and was slow in correcting, but not terrible. Overall it is very nice and I would go back and recommend to others."

  • "Lovely place. Looks like nice outdoor space but we were not using that this time. Lots of menu choices. The food we had was all very tasty, especially the Friday night fish fry. We want to go back and try out the live music night. Everyone was helpful and very nice."

  • " We enjoyed our visit to Nines last week end. The food was very tasty, if a bit pricey. The ambience was excellent. One of my friends and I ordered the boneless short ribs of beef, and both of us were not disappointed. Strawberry short cake was a treat for desert. The adjoining bar is also very nice, and I hope that more customers discover your excellent restaurant. I will have to try your Friday fish fry which is relatively new to your menu."

  • "The fries fish was beer battered. The fish had been in the fryer too long and the coating was hard and brittle. The waiter talked up the cole slaw but the serving was very small and the slaw was average at best. There was a bread basket while you waited for your order but when the entrée arrived there was no butter remaining for the rye bread. Overall as we continue to hunt for the best fish fry we rate this fish fry as below average for the greater Milwaukee Area. The Searching for the Best Fish Fry Trio"

  • "My family and I went to the Nines Bistro for brunch on May 18th to celebrate our daughters college graduation. We had reservations and were seated very close to the waiter's station in a far corner of the dining room. It was dirty and very noisy. We asked that our table be changed to a different local and the staff accommodated our request. When we changed tables the water glasses and mimosa glasses at our new table were very dirty, including lipstick from a previous diner on two of the glasses. The glasses were replaced with clean glasses by our very nice waiter. When we went to the buffet, we were not impressed. Last year we had brunch around the same time of year and the food was inventive and delicious. Menu was nothing special. "

  • "Since the recent change in the menu and concept this past winter, I cant help but keep getting pulled in to return to nines American Bistro. The food and service have been consistently amazing, regardless o weekday or weekend. The Prime Steas are AWESOME, and the Burgers and Wings are hands down the best in the Area!!! No lie, Who would have thought tht a restaurant tucked away in the middle of a neighborhood would pump out signature quality! I am hooked and will e back over and over..."

  • "After waiting too long to make reservations, happened to see nines American Bistro had openings and took a chance. It was a great "buffet" dining experience. Food was high quality, delicious and with abundant fresh supplies coming out all the times. We dined later so had mostly dinner items but the few breakfast items tried were wonderful. Very pleased with our choice."

  • "Went for the Mother's brunch. Had a 130 reservation but did not get seated until 2. We were then seated outside which was nice. No one ever came to take our drink order. Finally got drinks them went back up to the buffet and our table was cleared drinks silverware and napkins. We were very upset with the service but the food was good. I expected much better service for the cost of 2 adults and two kids to eat. "

  • "We have had several outstanding dinng experiences recently at the Nines, ranging from dinner, to brunch, to appetizers at the bar, to hearing great music on Thursday nights. Our most recent experience was incredible, the Mother's Day brunch. The Nines were miraculously able to maintain the high quality and quantity of food for 1600 people, as seamlessly as they do a normal Sunday brunch. We were amazed by the service, never-empty mimosa glasses, and delicious variety of breakfast and dinner dishes. Not only is the food fabulous, but the wait staff, bartenders, and managers act like they want you there and they really want you to come back. We will!! And the Oysters Rockefeller are to LIVE FOR! "

  • "We (6) were pleased to be seated in the restaurant area, next to the window as we could hear each other. A man came up to us when he saw my 101 yr. old mother with a walker and he placed us in this room to get around easier. Thank you. We arrived at 1:00 and some of the food was pretty well picked over at the salad/cheese area. The staff seemed hard put to keep up with the crowd. None of us could get an omelet or tenderloin, the line was too long. My husband said you were out of sauce for the shrimp and no cream cheese was left for his bagel. Our waiter was good. The food we all ate was good, a good assortment, but it seemed the kitchen couldn't keep up. Two omelet places would be better. Couldn't get the desired food paid for. "

  • "We went there for Mother's Day Brunch. Children were running everywhere. We were seated probably 1/2 mile from the buffet, my poor grandmother could not walk up to get her own food. The buffet line was so crazy and messy, I would have been better off going to Old Country Buffet. They added on a service charge that was insanely high for the service we received. I will never step foot in this restaurant again and will discourage everyone I know from going. Trust me, not worth it."

  • "The Nines were way over booked for this holiday. To start with there were no parking spaces available. I had to stand and in a long line just to check in even though we had a reservation. The dining area was so chaotic and loud. The food was cold except for the omelets. For what we spent, we should have been able to enjoy a lovely atmosphere, with hot food, we should have been able to hear one another above the noise, and what we experienced was quite opposite. This was way over priced, and I do not plan to ever go back. "

  • "The food was very good but way too many people. Tables were in every nook and cranny available. Service was very slow because of so many people and at times items were out at the buffet and it took awhile for replacements. The noise level was so high you had to shout to have a conversation at the table. The worse part of the experience was the twenty percent service charge. I tip very well but I resent paying a 20 percent service charge for a buffet!"
