NINE-TENMost enjoyable meal on our trip!After reading about many restaurants in the La Jolla area, we decided to simplify our evening and eat at Nine-Ten, which was in the same building at our charming boutique hotel, The Grande Colonial. We had already had a wonderful breakfast there that morning. We chose the dinner option of the three course meal with wine pairings. We could not have been happier with the food and wine choices! The service was excellent and the timing between courses allowed for a relaxing meal. The food was fresh, flavorful and fun! The hardest thing about brunch is choosing which of the menu items I will have. My regular is their great huevos rancheros, but sometimes I am seduced by the Nine Ten omelet, or their brioche french toast. We also like the quieter atmosphere. Had Tortellini w/rabbit, duck breast and one of the best panna cottas I've ever had. Peas were the order of the night - every dish (not dessert) had peas multiple ways, including pea tendrils. The chef sometimes comes out at the end of the evening and has a chat at you table, she can ask how her menu choice was inspired. More bonus points.
