This was the first time we were given a menu. Choosing the Chef's Menu (beef tenderloin)for two of us, the other chose fish. Sharing Nikolai's for the first time with anyone, we brought our daughter and said she was truly impressed. The wait staff was wonderful, quiet and pleasant as the room. Ending our stay at our request he showed our daughter the books that we always enjoyed reading other peoples thoughts as we wrote about our meal. The only thing I would change would be to bring the books back for people to sign again. I was expecting a busier place but it was a small crowd and romantic setting. I recommend for romantic and special occassions for that special someone. The servise is AWESOME !! I had the lobster/curry soup. Outstanding. The lamb was perfectly cooked. The sea bass was great. All four entrees our group had were top notch. The only two slight misteps - the bar on the other side does not have a good wine list (by the glass not good) and our souffles were overcooked. The Maitre'd greeted us with a warm welcome and waitstaff was impressively attentive. I will go as far to say the meal we had was probably the best we have ever had despite dining at other 4 star restaurants across the Nation. Food was wonderful. And it as a charming experience. Not stuffy. Expanded menu so you are not stuck with a $100+pp fix prix menu. We were given a complimentary desert for our anniversary. And it was the most delicately decorated with edible pink flowers little cake ever!

Our server was amazing - explained dishes, bar offerings, the best way to "toss back" our flavor infused vodka, and was extra kind to our daughter on her big night out.
The food was insane - delicious! We had the five-course Chef's menu, and it exceeded our expectations. The piroshkies were perfect, and we fought over them. The diver scallop in butternut squash soup was heaven (I secretly longed for another bowl). The foie gras perfectly cooked, the cheeses were both of exotic and local offerings (the Rembrandt...mmm). The beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly and so juicy and flavorful.
