We went for my wife's birthday. I drive by this place often and have been wanting to go for some time, so i thought her birthday was a great opportunity. Plus, my co-worker has been bragging about her experience there for months now. So i was excited about going. The place is awesome, the staff was super friendly, the food was amazing, a little pricey, but for what you get it is well worth it. Great drinks. Cocktail menu was really cool. every component of the meal was flawless. The only thing i would change would be where we sat. Next time i'll plan on sitting in the back bar by the kitchen. You'll get a real good look at the kitchen crew put out amazing plate after amazing plate.

Delicious bday brunch for my wife with fantastic donuts (we split the bacon ____ one as an appetizer, and then they gave us a free chai ____ one with a candle in it), and my egg plate thingy was really great, too. Every plate I saw had 3 of these magical tater tot orbs on them, basically finely-shredded potatoes shaped into a ball and heated til the outside is crispy, salted, and ready for ketchup. Friendly service and great meal!

Based upon reviews, I was expecting much more from this restaurant. It was totally mediocre and high priced for mediocrity. Their heirloom tomato appetizer tasted no different than any tomato with ordinary olive oil. The spaghetti/eggplant was a relatively small portion(for the money) and very salty. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu but lacked personality. The best I can say is the water glasses were constantly filled.

Nightwood changes their menu daily so whatever someone may recommend may not be available during your visit. Our table had the duck, chicken and bass. All were delicious and served with a medley of unique fresh vegetables. While absolutely delicious all the way around - the fish and duck were a little heavy on the salt. The service was top notch and amazing all around with suggestions. They even brought out a special birthday treat. If you go during the week street parking in front of the restaurant is rare; however if you go down the street right by the car wash you won't have a problem finding something.

My wife took me to Nightwood for my birthday. We loved it! The chef has a unique approach with a strong focus on fresh fruits and vegetables. Even the meat dishes seem to feature creative vegetable creations accompanied by excellent meat preparations versus the typical meat focus. Nightwood is not a vegetarian restaurant (although a vegetarian would love it). The fishes and meats are excellent, but the chef is a wizard with fruits and veggies

Appetizers and drinks were excellent, but I surprisingly found my duck entree to be a bit lacking. My girlfriend felt similar about her pork. Both were a bit fatty and lacking any kind of complex flavor. Service was good, but we did wait a bit to put our order.

Always good. Enjoyable foodie twist. The burger rocks. Took clients that were visiting from out of town. They loved it. I wish Nightwood had more round tables - we were seated at a rectangle one. Made conversation difficult. Our waiter made excellent wine recommendations.

Brunch was delicious and service was great. We were 4 friends catching up after not seeing each other for some time and never felt rushed to order or pay our bill. The freshness of the ingredients was wonderful. The variety and use of spices and flavors was great. They were flexible in letting us do a little "family style" mixture of entrees and appetizers. The semi-outdoor area was delightful, and the bar seating facing the kitchen was special…we hope to come back and sit there! We had a great time.

We came to Nightwood to celebrate a family gathering. We sampled 2 appetizers, 5 different main courses and 3 sides. Everything was delicious and interesting. The grilled octopus app was to die for in a spicy mole sauce. The cornmeal gnocchi main was so delicious and unusual. We also tried the roasted chicken, served with pickled radishes, duck breast, cheeseburger and bass - all standouts. For dessert we tried the chocolate bomb - truly worth splurging for. The outdoor setting was so peaceful and gave us an extra sense of privacy within the patio setting, with its wood slab and ivy covered walls. The service was impeccable. We will definitely be back for another occasion!

Our server was outstanding. He knew the nuances of every dish and suggested great cocktail and wine pairings. Very attentive and probably the best service we have had all year. The food was also very good. Loved the focaccia and onion spread. The starters were great - a salad and the pulled mozzarella. I had the pork belly for the main and it was a bit too fatty - my only complaint to a near perfect meal.

I had heard of this restaurant and had always wanted to try it. The biggest draw for me was their changing menu with fresh, seasonal items. Went for my girlfriends birthday and we both had a wonderful experience. The dishes was flavorful and the components all went together very well. The staff was very attentive and helped decide on drink selection. The rose selection was great and the mixed drink I had was made very well. I cant wait to go back and try some more.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Nightwood, and have returned the following two years on our anniversary. We have had exceptional service every single time we have been there. The food is inspired and exciting. The menu is ever-changing, but always seasonal and fresh. I am pregnant and had a non-alcoholic cocktail that was actually on the menu, which was fun to see. My husband had great beer and wine recommendations, and the dessert was just phenomenal.

We have been frequenting this restaurant for more than three years, and we have never had a bad meal there. Our recent brunch, however, was exceptionally good! The range of the menu seemed even better than before, and both of the dishes we had were scrumptious. As we are both vegetarians, we really noticed the increased number of vegetarian options, which was fantastic. The server was sophisticated and attentive, the ambience was perfect, and we will certainly be back!

We have ate here 2/3 times before and have always liked it. The fresh ingredients makes the food different each time. Started with an appetizer of fresh pasta with a unique sauce. The trout and vegetables was enjoyed. And I have seen the burger go to other tables previously and always looked good, but so many other items look good and you can get a burger anywhere, but I tried it this time, and all I can say is WOW! Hard to pass up the more unique dinner items but if you have a chance the burger is phenomenal.

4 adults celebrating 2 wedding anniversaries and 3 of us had the cheeseburger! The french fries were great but, come on, we can afford more than the burger and yet that's what 3 out of 4 thought would be the tastiest thing on the menu. My husband had the steak and was disappointed with the size. Too small and served with a small potato quartered. At least add an attractive veggie. Cherry pie was delicious! We have eaten at Nightwood before and were happier with the choices and tastes during the winter.

I had been hearing about Nightwood for quite some time and was finally able to experience it. I recommend visiting it during the week, I'm sure it's impossible to get in on the weekends. We went Tuesday evening, early reservation at 6:00. We were the first table but it quickly started to fill up. The service was very attentive and not rushed at all (I think that was because it was Tuesday and people were not waiting for tables). Unfortunately the temperature was quite cool for July, otherwise we would have loved to to sit on their patio, beautiful! I loved the small menu with local selections. A little heavy handed on the olive oil, but that may have been our menu selections. Look forward to a return visit.

Arrived on time for our 8:45p reservation for a party of 4 and were seated right away. Started with a bottle of rose, the white gazpacho which was amazing, grilled octopus which had delicious intense flavor, and a pasta with morels- good. The main courses were also all excellent- the sea bass with morels, squash blossom, & roe; duck with sour cherries; and a melange of summer vegetables, each cooked differently and in a way to bring out the maximum flavor & character. Even though we were satisfyingly full, we topped off the meal with dessert- a black berry tart and a slice of cherry chocolate pie. Food and service were great. Our server was well-informed, pleasant and helpful in navigating the menu for a guest with a gluten allergy.

We had a wonderful experience at Knightwood! The place is a gem and the outdoor seating was trendy, yet comfortable. The service overall was great and we appreciated our server's (Mark) suggestions. We enjoyed a bottle of wine, and chose from a pretty extensive list...we had some help from Mark! :) We shared two entrees...the Trout was OK, not amazing...a little too fishy for me. The beef was so good that I can't wait to go back to order it again! The after dinner treats were my favorite...get the cookies in addition to any other treats on the dessert menu, you won't be disappointed!!

Nightwood was a great experience. The food was delicious - especially the green garlic agnolotti - and the service was pretty good as well. Other than the agnolotti, every dish was very good but not spectacular. Nothing was anywhere near bad, but nothing made me reconsider the way I look at food. The agnolotti and black raspberry/black sesame dessert both came close, however. Nice wine, knowledgeable service, would definitely go again. Nicely done!
