  • "i had a dinner interview at Nicolino's as the recruiter had flown in and was staying across the street at a hotel without a restaurant. So, while I reside in Carmel I saw that Nicolino's was close to her hotel, so i decided to give it a try. To say we were both pleasantly surprised is an understatement. My Artic Char was absolutely delicious, and a welcome relief from the typical burger, pizza or chicken caeser salad that are the main stays of most hotel restaurants that are close to the Indianapolis airport."

  • "We were staying there for an oratorical contest and just didn't want to deal with having to leave the hotel for ANYthing all weekend. So this place was good for dinner and also for breakfast. Reasonable variety and fairly well prepared. The pasta and salad bar on Sunday was EXCELLENT."

  • "On the internet it made it appear that it was a traditional Italian Reataurant. Seeing how it is part of a hotel the menu was all over the place. The breaking point was the bruschetta. It was basically sliced bread with tomatoes on the side. Don't get me wrong it wasn't all bad but just not what we thought."

  • "Unexpected gem on the south-west side of Indianapolis. Second time to dine at the Wyndham hotel (Last time is was called the the Marker Restaurant & Lounge). Nicolino's proves to be a great dinning experience. Both entrees were tender, even the Chicken Marsala was delightful. Thanks for a great romantic evening."

  • "I have eaten at the hotel twice when attending conferences and everything was great, but when dining in the restaurant at night, I was sorely disappointed. Our server was inebriated and walked past us (within 2 feet!) all night without checking to see if we needed anything. Our food took an incredibly long time to come out, but I noticed that the other tables were getting their food at the same time, I think they were missing a cook for a while. One bright spot was that the appetizers were excellent. But when you have to wait 30+ minutes for a refill of water, multiple times, good appetizers can't overcome that."

  • "We dined on a Monday,that may have had something to do with the very poor service. It seemed they utilized the hotel housekeeping staff for the night. Neither the hostess nor server had any clue about the drinks or dinner menu or how to serve a table. I had to get up and walk to the bar to see what beer was on tap. I think they only had one wine list that was shared by the entire restaurant. I ordered one of the 'Chef Specials', it was very bland and looked like something you would get from a Stouffers frozen dinner. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmesan. it was OK. When they brought out the meals I was missing my vegetable, it was brought out about 15 mins later. The atmosphere was very nice. It was a shame the food and service was to poor."

  • "The service started off terrible. The hostess was rude. She sat us in the middle of the room when there were only 5 or 6 table in the room. I asked to move and she said no. The server took 8 minutes even acknowledge us. The food was bland. We ordered a cheesy bread, there was a bowl of blah marinara sauce and some cheese sprinkled and melted across the bread sticks. My dates dinner was your typical spaghetti and meatballs, no spices or zing to set it apart from ragu. My dinner was the mushroom risotto. I was practically attacked with garlic and it was severely missing the mushrooms that were promised. All in all. I will not be back. I was not impressed all the way across the board. It was bland, boring, and very unimaginative."

  • "Menu has changed from that on their website with many items deleted and bar menu added to restaurant menu. Service was horrible, finally served our hot app. barely lukewarm after an hour and twenty minutes! First bottle of wine (from an excellent vineyard) was bad-very off tasting, next choice they did not have so the waitress brought out something she choose herself, a nice warm white which she poured a small amount of then said she would go chill the rest, but never returned with it. I went to find someone in charge ( the waitress had told us the manager was fired) and we left after an hour and a half without eating! Worst dining experience ever."

  • "My friend and I were in town for the 500 festival mini marathon. Most of the places downtown were completely booked as far as reservations were concerned. So....we figured since we had a rental car, why not find a place. That we did, a little bit outside from downtown. About 10 -15 min max. It was located inside the Wyndam Hotel. Loved the atmosphere and decoration was retro yet modern. Staff was very friendly and most importantly the food was great. They had a cook to order pasta chef that was there. Excellent route for them to go. Definitely worth the try."

  • "The waitress was quite friendly and attentive, however on arrival ~6:50 for 7:00 reservations, no one was in the restaurant, no one could be found to seat us for over 5 minutes. The menu at the restaurant was more limited than the one online. Nonetheless everything ordered was tasty, the only item approaching 5 stars however was the lemon cheesecake, beautifully accompanied by rasberries and a berry drizzle."

  • "Everything was great except the waitress was a bit behind and never did bring my husband his salad, so she ended up taking some off the bill for us. We understood, though, because she explained that she usually worked the hotel front desk, but was just helping out in the restaurant. That made the lack in service understandable."

  • "Overall our experience there was very good. Our waiter though a little slow was very friendly and was very nice! It was very quiet and romantic. I started off with a Tomato and Mozzarella salad which was quite good. The pinot noir was also very good. I ended up getting the Rack of Lamb with Risotto as my side. The risotto was some of the best I have ever had, and though the lamb was good, the port wine reduction was very over powering and kind of salty, it took away from the flavor of the meat instead of adding to it. I ended up just scrapping the sauce off and just ate the meat :)"

  • "I made the reservation on Open Table for Nicolino's shortly before we arrived. No problem they had received it. We were seated and I checked my phone for e-mails. Had one from Open Table that my reservation had been canceled. Went to the host and he told us he had deleted my reservation. I told him that it was unacceptable and that I was making another reservation immediately and he was not to delete it. He noted that he did not understand the Open Table concept so I had an opportunity to bring him up to speed. Be sure to check your reservation when you are seated to ensure that no one deletes you!"

  • "I am a recent college graduate and my boyfriend and I went to Nicolino's because we had a groupon but would not have chosen it price-wise if it were not for this. However, the food was delicious! We had the bruschetta, seafood alfredo, salmon, and dessert, with no complaints, everything was fresh, good flavor and spices, and came fairly quickly. The only thing was that there was hardly anyone there even on a Saturday night! We had half of the restaurant all to ourselves and were sad that a place with food this good didn't get more service."

  • "Took my wife there on Valentine's Day. Extremely quiet and initiate. The food tasted amazing. For $50 we were treated to two salads, two entrees, two deserts, and two glasses of champagne. At the end of the meal, the server surprised my wife with a rose. It was an unbelievable value. I can't wait until there's another special deal like this so we can go back."
