NicoNico's - A FavoriteOur dinner Saturday night was wonderful in every way. Perfect weather for outside dining, a great streetscape in the loop and creative, fun food and drinks. Definitely a favorite!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food and serviceWe had heard that the hummus here was great, so we gave it a shot and it was delicious; when we ran out of pita bread with which to eat it, our server offered to bring us more before we could even ask. I got a lamb burger, which was also wonderful; the flavors meshed very well. The only bad thing about it was that it was a tad too thick to easily bite into, and in squishing it down I accidentally squished out a lot of tzatziki sauce! My boyfriend ordered mushroom ravioli, and he thought that they were fantastic. The focaccia bread before the meal was also very good, if a tad too oily. We had a delicious artichoke soup to start and the warm marinated olives which were both great. Had a lovely seafood risotto and the seafood was perfectly cooked and plentiful. Our server arranged to split our salad and our burger, which made sharing much easier. Food was excellent and fresh. You could tell care was taken with the presentation and the quality of ingriedients. Everything was fresh and seemed to be local. Service was very good. But this vist was a pleasant surprise: knowledgeable staff, weel-prepared food with seasonal accents, and appropriate pacing from the kitchen. The bruschetta with fresh young fava beans was wonderful, the seafood risotto was satisfying, and the lamb burger (while really messy) was delicious with Moroccan spices. The entire experience was way above par. It is a casual restaurant with an elegant feel. The service is impeccable. And the food is outstanding.
