The wait staff was exceptional in service, offering suggestions when asked, and checking periodically. I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't freshwater fish available. However, my family thoroughly enjoyed our entries."

  • "This was a great place to go to dinner on a Saturday night if you're going to the Rosemont Theater. Its just minutes away. Our waiter Nick was excellent. The food was very good - I had Chilean Sea Bass and my husband had the Red Grouper. Both were excellent. We also had the Maui Salad and the Chopped Salad.Bottles of wine on Saturday night are 1/2 price. That being said our dinner was $160 with the 1/2 price bottle of wine. We didn't even have dessert.We found it overpriced."

Overall the service was great and the food was very good, not great. I'd say just not worth the price. The goat cheese salad was fantastic, best part of my meal. Worth tying if you up for a $200 bill easily."

  • "I have been to this place three times, once with mywife and twice with clients. Each time has been outstanding. I rank it as one of the top seafood places in Chicago. It is a throwback restaurant, focused on service with great food in a very relaxing environment. It is at the other end of the spectrum from the small plate/whimsical chef's creation, bustling/noisy/packed dining experience. If you want great seafood, wonderful service in a very nice, relaxed environment, this is your kind of place. It is perfect for relaxed, conversation-focused dinners with wife and friends as well as clients."

  • "For a Staurday, it was pretty quiet. They also had a special for half off all bottles of wine. That was a great deal. The black and blue seared ahi tuna was fantastic. The grouper and sea bass were delicious and their service was top notch. I would definitely recommend."

  • "A friend and I went to the Rosemont Nick's Fishmarket. Had a wonderful meal, split almost everything and with that it was very reasonable. Split the tilapia with crab meat on top, it was huge!! And just delicious!! Would suggest bread on the table--you don't get a feeling of hospitability waiting for bread with just water in front of you. Don't like the individual service of bread, either, looks like we're only entitled to a one-per-person. Leave it on the table, and bring right when people sit down! We'll still eat, don't you worry! Waiter did not thank us for over 20 % tip, and we were really nice guests. That's a management issue, it should be taught."

  • "Terrible Valentine's day experience. Huge backup for seating with seemingly no system for getting people tables in order. Never received our appetizer, never had a waiter heck on us for more drinks after our first round, no one ever came by to refill our water. Sounds like something happened that night cause I've seen other bad experiences, but all those issues and never once did a manager come by to apologize. Just awful, would not recommend."

  • "We arrived to the restaurant . valet was no where to be found. We had to park in the parking garage 10 minutes away and walk to the restaurant in the cold Once we arrived I noticed the sign for the coats and jackets was literally written on a paper (terrible had writing) and taped on the wall. It looked very tacky. Once we got there we could see they were clearly understaffed. We were sent to the bar where we waited for 40 minutes before we were seated ( we had reservations) There were only two bartenders on Valentine day. We had to eat dinner and then request that our server close our bar tab for us"

  • "Considering that bad service and long waits are usually the norm this night, Nicks didn't stray from that norm. Had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time . Our reservation was 7;15. ordered right away salads came out quick but an hour later our entrees arrived 8:45. Asked for a second glass of wine that we never received. I will say the food was delicious. But waiting so long ruined the evening. Had to ask for our server a few times, really never checked back to us especially to explain the wait or ask if we needed anything. I probably will reconsider dinner out on Valentines day."

  • "We dined at Nick's on Valentines Day. As we checked in for our 8:45 reservation we were told that they were running way behind with their reservations (45 minutes). People were standing everywhere in the bar and hostess area. Very difficult to get a drink at the bar too while waiting. Once we were seated waited 10 minutes to see a waiter and an additional 10 minutes to receive a menu. The service during the course of the night was deplorable. I have eaten at Nick's several times and the food was very sub par as well. The waiter had way too many tables. No one got the proper service that is expected at Nick's. A very disappointing experience"

  • "The hostess awkwardly seated us w/o menus. We sat menu-less starring at e/o for 5-8 min before the waiter came for our drink order (impossible w/o menus). Being seated by a fish tank really effected our experience. The sound of the running tank drove us nuts.Yes, this is nit-picky. We wanted to move but the service was rather slow & inconsistent. The wait staff was totally mailing it in. A lot of socializing & standing around. Our wine came right as the appetizers did, & there was a big break btwn the app & the entree. We struggled for more rolls (served straight from oven, 1 at a time). Overall the food was fantastic! We were expecting better service for fine dining. Avoid the fish tank, ask for 2 rolls at a time & get the lobster bisque."

Waiter said they had call-offs in the kitchen. There was a long wait between salad and entree. When we left there were a large number of people waiting to be seated. Not good on a special occasion with your honey."

  • "After several great trips to Nicks, my wife & I decided to go to Nick's for Valentine's Day. Dinner was a train wreck. It took over two hours to get our entrées, and this was after asking 3 times where our food was. The food came out lukewarm. The couple at the table next to us had to ask for their bill three times, and still waited over 20 minutes for it to come. When they brought our entrees we asked for the dessert to be boxed up and the bill brought so we could get out asap. When the bill came, they over charged us for our wine...they corrected it but had I not looked at the bill, we would have been overcharged by $60. I spoke with the manager, and all he could say was sorry."

  • "Nick's was a nice find for us, here for just a few days in Rosemont for convention, and tired of the red meat fare at most restaurants. Fish was fresh and prepared very well. Especially good: the "black and blue" tuna appetizer. The only issue for us was finding the prices a bit high, but certainly we were not disappointed."

  • "My husband made a reservation for dinner for the two of us this past Saturday. I had the crab encrusted Tilapia and he had the surf and turf with cajun seasoned lobster. ALL I CAN SAY WAS IT WAS BETTER THAN ANY SEAFOOD I've had in a very long time."

Kind of disappointing for them Waiters just standing around doing nothing. The restaurant in general was very quiet we were 1 of 5 or 6 groups in the restaurant. The dinner was amazing, the lobster bisque is extraordinary and we will be back soon. Highly recommend this place"

They were short several popular drinks at the bar, which was surprising as it had just opened and we were the only ones there. Wait staff did not keep our regular beverages filled without asking. Food was outstanding, but prices were high - higher than value of service and food."
