Diner Reviews
  • "Expect to pay for dining here but it is worth it. We ordered carbonara, branzini, cauliflower and beets with goats cheese which is my favorite. We were served an amuse from the chef which was fresh anchovy on a pesto type sauce atop a homemade crouton. Delicious. The fish was heavenly, the pasta al dente and we drank a lot of cocktails...which added $60 to the charge but, as I say, it was worth it to us as it was a great dining experience all round."

  • "Was FINALLY able to get a reservation at Nick and Toni's on a Saturday night (albeit 9:30 pm :)) and it was worth the wait! Had a lovely table for two in the "front room" with a mesmerizing view of the wood-burning oven and gorgeous mosaic surrounding it. The service was impeccable ~ we had no less than 4 people checking in - not overbearing - just anticipating and fulfilling every need. Was celebrating my husband "Birthday Month" and the rhubarb gelato arrived with a long, thin birthday candle. Not cheesy - no singing - very classy move by the staff. We did have a noisy table next to us - wouldn't have minded overhearing if the conversation was interesting, but ugh - so boring!"

  • "It's always a lovely experience coming to this restaurant. A really nice touch is always serving an amuse bouche, this time especially delicious. My entree, veal saltimboca, was a bit disappointing; perhaps I made the wrong choice."

  • "We went there for Hamptons Restaurant week and it was a great deal. Food was fantastic as always. Service as the little extras are always a treat."

  • "This is, without question, one of THE hot-spots of the Hamptons, and has been for years. WE don't typically go "in season" because it is just too crowded and getting a reservation at any reasonable day and time nearly impossible. So, we look forward to the off season or a special time like Restaurant Week. I'm sorry to report we were very disappointed this time. This was WAY off the usual, and bordering on ordinary. In a party of four, with a special prix fixe menu, my wife's chicken was over-cooked; a veal dish was chewy and my papparadelle had a bed of pasta that was sticky, glutinous and unpleasant. The salads and soup were fine. Desserts were laughable: tasty but minuscule-doll house size! Not up to the usual standards."

  • "I went during restaurant week because since I moved to EH people have been asking me, how's Nick and Toni's? and I figured restaurant week was the only way I could go for a reasonable amount of money. Honestly I was expecting everything to be average but I was so blown away. Every course, every bite, everything so unbelievably delicious and the perfect texture. I've never had such a light cheesecake. Everything was superlative."

  • "It was a pleasure to dine during the Hamptons Resturant Week. The food is always very good. The service was good and the atmosphere is quite pleasant with cool lounge music. Thank you Nick and Toni's for your participation in the the Hampton's Restaurant Week. It is always a pleasure to join you."

  • "I have been eating there for years , however with the renovation and the continued effort made by everyone that works there to make you feel good and enjoy your time is exceptional. The food is always excellent , from the appetizers , the zucchinichips to the great desserts."

  • "Our first visit since renovation. It still looks very much Nick & Toni's but a bit fresher, cleaner, warmer. A very good meal well presented - without a hint of restaurant week scrimp. Recommended"

  • "Avery's IPA an excellent selection. Mussels and Hanger steak quite good."

  • "I have enjoyed the restaurant several times, never had a bad word to say. Resturant week specials are confusing and a bad idea. I had the red snapper. I had better fish at my local diner. The fish was frozen to long and had a tasted like cardboard. It also must have been out long or refrozen. The smell was alot like shark bait. I will not be back"

  • "Nick and Toni's is a favorite with the elite but they are just as gracious and lovely to regular folks. The food is very good! The specials they have in the winter are wonderful!"

  • "Hardest restaurant to get into during the summer months so we were thrilled to get a 7:45 on Saturday night for 4. The foie gras ravioli was the best dish ever! The rest of the meal didn't disappoint either. And the tartufo was as good on a cold winter day as it is in the summer! Amazing meal. Love this place!"

  • "For a number of years when we stay in montauk the only restaurant that we head west for is Nick and Toni's. It did not disappoint this presidents's week. The free range chicken is the best chicken dish i have ever eaten. My wife had the hangar steak which was both tender and tasty. The zucchini chips are to die for and the mussels had us asking for more bread to dip in an incredible broth. Topped off with hampton coffee gelato and we went back to our hotel room very happy with having chosen this restaurant."

  • "Anything you order is perfectly prepared. The kitchen is beyond compare and every dinner is a delightful surprise. Order your favorite or something new -- you will be amazed. Service is spot on but casual. They are all there to please. And they do . . . eveytime."

  • "There should have been tablecloths on the tables! Without even a placemat, the table seemed cold and "diner"- like."

  • "Looking forward to many lovely, memorable dinners at your fine restaurant. Just like the one I had this past Saturday night. The food was wonderful...starting with the famous zucchini chips and ending with the incredible tartufo with caramel truffle (which can absolutely be shared by 4 people). The service was impeccable thanks to Andy. He is one of the best."

  • "We had the pleasure of having brunch with our family this past Sunday and the vote was unanimous - Best Brunch in the Hamptons. I actually think it was the best brunch we've ever had anywhere and we are a family of foodies that travels and dines out a lot."

  • "N & T's never disappoints...it's one of the very best dining experiences on the East End. Bonnie and Kristen spend a great deal of time and energy to make sure each and every guest has the best evening at their wonderful venue. Hats off to them for running a top notch dining establishment. They just need to maintain the same reservation system ALL year long! NO hope for mere mortals to get a spot in high season...such a shame."

  • "Gave high marks for brunch, but fix price dinner was a little more ordinary. A large portion, moderately healthy veal - it was breaded probably with panko and some kale on top. I ,personally, don't love a huge chunk of breaded meat and don't love greens thrown on top of everything though it seems to be the trend. It was a good hearty meal."

  • "I have had more consistently good meals here in the last couple of months - especially nice in the quiet winter months and for Sunday brunch."

  • "My husband and I had dinner at Nick and Toni's on Saturday evening. It was a lovely Christmas gift from our son and his wife. We were seated as soon as we arrived and immediately were greeted by our waiter, who was professional and attentive. I had a Meyer Lemon Cosmo, which was terrific, and my husband ordered a Cabernet from their wine list. The food was absolutely wonderful--zucchini chips, kale salad, free-range chicken and yukon gold potatoes, sea scallops, mushrooms, were all seasoned perfectly and done excellently. The atmosphere is a bit spare and the music a bit loud, but we'd return again for sure."

  • "Food was good as always. Saturday nights in winter can be problematic - not enough help in the kitchen."

  • "Food and service were great, as always. Our waiter, Radu was not only knowledgeable and accessible, he was a charm to talk to. We were able to order off the menu (craving some of our previous visit's dishes) and they prepared a very ice special birthday presentation. This is one of our favorites in the Hamptons."

  • "We went on a Monday night in winter -- which I highly recommend for a relaxed meal, sans scene. The service was, of course, outstanding, and the food was spectacular. Particularly recommend the wood-fire roasted whole fish, which was black sea bass the night we were there."

  • "Brunch on Sunday was a real treat from the tasty cinnamon buns, to the poached eggs on frisee salad. My beet and goat cheese panini was scrumptious. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The service warm and very competent."

  • "I love this restaurant, especially off-season, but the food and service have been inconsistent the past few times I've gone. Most recently, most of us had wonderful meals but a few things were served that were just inexcusably bad, expecially a dry, overcooked, boring piece of swordfish that had nothing to accompany or flavor it. In addition, our server just forgot about one of the appetizers that one guest ordered. After we reminded him, he brought it after all the rest of us were done with our appetizers. We can excuse a mistake, but something like this should have been comp'ed, which it was not. In general, the server seemed overextended and was, as a result, inattentive. Fortunately, the rest of the staff made up for it."
