A word from Nick & Toni's Cafe Manhattan
With a focus on local products and seasonal produce Nick & Toni's Cafe Manhattan prepares fresh food simply. We source locally whenever possible and shop the NYC Green markets with twice-weekly visits to our neighbors at the Tucker Square market and others the including Union Square and Ft. Greene markets.

The wood fired oven puts out perfectly crispy pizzas everyday at lunch and Sun-Thurs at dinner. Friday & Saturday nights be prepared for a special treat because, although there are no pizzas, many house specialties such as the Roasted Chicken, Whole Fish of the Day, or Scallops are prepared in the wood oven.

We have a diverse and high quality selection of wines by the glass, and a moderately priced wine list. We also feature a full bar and an extensive cocktail list including a number of house infused alcohols that suit the seasons.

** For reservations of parties of 5 or more please call the restaurant directly.

Diner Reviews
  • "Food was great, service was even better. This is a small restaurant, so it is not the place for a romantic dinner, but go there for the food!!!"

  • "The waiter explained when the inspector came they had organic greens soaking in water and he didn't like that so were given a "B" rating. They are fighting it. We tried a pasta dish for starters. We heard about the roasted tomato sauce on "Barefoot Contessa" and followed it with eggplant and mozzarella paninis and salad. Varied wine list. Very happy with our choices."

  • "Three of us had lunch after the concert and were charmed by your cozy little restaurant. One ordered a frittata, it was very large and just o'k. Another ordered grilled octopus and it was so tough that they took it back and gave her something else. I ordered a delicious grilled cauliflower salad, but was so small that I asked for some grilled toast to fill me up. The toast was the best. The luncheon portions were inconsistent, you never knew what size you were getting, they were all different and yet, they were lunch portions."

  • "Nice job getting dinner out in time for show at Lincoln Center"

  • "I teach at Juilliard, and Nick and Toni's is my favorite place to meet friends after work. I'm always surprised that more people do t know about it. It's warm in hospitality and ambiance, the food is good, and you never feel rushed."

  • "The Health Department grade has slipped from an A to a B. The service has similarly slipped. I've been a regular at N and T's for many years, and I've recently sensed a lack of attentiveness, and even a bit of diffidence, in the waiters. The greeting at the door is always friendly and warm, but the wait staff is a mixed crew... a few seem bored and even annoyed to have to stoop to this line of work. The items on the prix fixe menu are a bit less varied and generous than before. This is still a decent place to get decent food in the Lincoln Center area, but it's starting to lose it's appeal."

  • "Just love the roasted chicken salad--very creative combination of greens, fruit, and veggies with chicken."

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed our night at Nick & Toni's Cafe. The decor is subtly colorful, the food is delicate and perfect, and the service is outstanding. What a neighborhood gem!"

  • "You don't sense its Hamptons roots at all here. Good food selection (excellent wood burning stove for pizzas) and very friendly all around."

  • "I always enjoy Nick and Toni's. But this visit with friends from out of town was disappointing. The pizzas and pasta we ordered was only all right: the pizza was dryer than usual, the crust over cooked almost as if it had been re-heated; the pasta was better. And the noise level seemed even higher than in past. I recommend the restaurant but will be more cautious not to come when it is at peak busyness as I suspect that badly effected both the food and ambiance."

  • "Great for pre-Lincoln Center dining. I will use it again and again."

  • "This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. The produce and meat are of high quality, and the menu is interesting, without being fussy. I especially like the salads and other greens."

  • "My friends and I enjoyed a pre-concert dinner. The pre-fixe dinner was just right and the service friendly and helpful. A good choice for a Lincoln Center evening"

  • "Love the original in EH, although haven't been there in a few years. Went before the theater and the service was excellent and swift, out in plenty of time without feeling rushed. They have a lot of waiters working from 6 to 8, which is terrific. Alas, the food isn't too good. Baby arugula salad wasn't exceptional and had way too much dressing--not a $14 salad! The linguine with cockles was good buy nothing special and ditto the pork cheeks. The latter was a bit too greasy and the polenta was in short supply, It had a nice herby flavor--rosemary?--which would have helped had there been more and had it been a bit more pungent. The pork cheeks just tasted meaty, without any noticeable seasoning. Bread awesome, but hoped all would be."

  • "Always a good array of fish and meat dishes, plus good salads.. Always packed before Lincoln Center and AMC movies, but you can still get gourmet dinner in one hour.. Definitely recommend."

  • "Nick & Toni's is consistently good food with professional caring service. Understood that we needed to be at Lincoln Center for a concert but timing did not impact upon a quality dining experience."

  • "Good for pre-Lincoln Center dinners. Prompt service and a small but decent menu."

  • "Since my beloved Josephina's closed, I searched for a place near Lincoln Center. A friend recommended Nick & Toni's and I have been coming here regularly, since it's close and has tasty food served by a charming and talented staff."

  • "This was a more basic brunch than we expected, but pleasant because of the good service, and in the location we wanted by Lincoln Center"

  • "Always a welcoming spot for a leisurely meal. You never feel rushed. The food is good, the service is friendly and efficient and a real neighborhood find. It's also convenient to all the Lincoln Center theaters."

  • "We'd been trying to get to Nick & Toni's for quite a while (we only visit NYC a few times a year although I am in the financial district every day for decades) and finally squeezed in to an available time. Very happy with the food, thankfully the portions were not overwhelming as there's nothing worse than heading off to the ballet feeling like you're dragging an anchor. Excellent wines, nicely plated components, all good!"

  • "We very much enjoyed our pre show dinner at Nick and Toni's. Very good service and very nicely prepared food. We ordered the z chips to munch on while our pasta was being prepared. We will definitely keep this restaurant on the list for our next visit to the upper west side."

  • "Nick and Toni's has been around for a while and for reason. The room is pleasant and not overcrowded, the menu is full of interesting choices that are well-prepared, and the service is excellent. A reliable spot for a meal without fuss."

  • "This is just a short walk from Lincoln Center and is a great spot for a good meal before a show. High quality Italian food with a reasonable 3 course deal for $40."

  • "This is a nice, small place with great food, very close to the Lincoln Center. Good for dinner and then the show."

  • "Went for lunch post at The Chew audience-1:45 reservation.. Location was close to the tv studio. Restaurant is small but we weren't crowded. Staff was friendly & prompt. I ordered the roasted chicken salad upon recommendation from the waiter. He said his favorites were the pizzas, the chicken and this salad. I was not disappointed. It had shredded, roasted chicken, butternut squash, greens & pomegranate seeds with a lemon vinaigrette. Portion was a good size. Group opted for dessert. There were several yummy choices. Table selected the spiced pumpkin cake, Moscato poached pear and tartufo. We all tasted each. My favorite was the Tartufo. Loved the combination of chocolate, hazelnut & caramel. Overall, very nice experience!"

  • "You can make up your own $40 three course meal. This is a distinct plus. Primis and Entrees chosen are somewhat smaller than the regular portions, but dessert arrives intact - and sharable. The food here is good and tasty, more like that of a good home cook, than an interesting or inventive restaurant chef. The prices are reasonable with nice wines in a good price range. Looking for a meal, that won't break the bank, before a performance at Lincoln Center, Nick & Toni's Cafe is fine."

  • "selected this restaurant based on reviews, but was crowded and my chair was constantly bumped by other patrons & waiters; i asked to switch to another open table, but was told that table was promised to someone else; i ordered a black russian cocktail, the waiter told me it would be a long wait because the bartender was busy??? i had the risotto - very good, but the crowded setting was uncomfortable"

  • "Glad we had made a reservation in advance as the place was packed. Had specified in my reservation that we needed to make an 8PM concert at nearby Lincoln Center. The staff was very accommodating. The food was quite good and we enjoyed the overall experience."

  • "Ordered ticket to see a show at Lincoln Center in the confirmation e-mail it had a link to local restaurant ideas. I am glad I did not overlook the link. I'm from Philadelphia and have been to the "best" restaurants down there and by far if this restaurant was down here It would be in my Top 3. Location to Lincoln / Central Park is awesome. Our waiter was incredibly nice and had a classy flair he used while taking our orders which was enjoyable. Food was very good. My wife had hand made pasta w/ duck ragu; Outstanding. I had Fluke; was very good but not Outstanding. Appetizers, Outstanding. Dessert, Outstanding. Portions were just right. We both were able to clean plate and have dessert. Which should not be missed. Go Again? Yes!"

  • "I have eaten here many times, over many years, and have always enjoyed a wonderful meal. It is a " gem" in the Lincoln Center area. Hate to tout it too much for fear that I won't get a reservation.. The front desk people are always kind and considerate."

  • "We chose this restaurant at the last minute and were pleased we could get a table. The dining room was full but not packed. We arrived a little early and had a drink at the bar. We were seated right on time and got a table by the window. Our server Lamonte was very knowledgable and helpful. Our food was very well prepared and presented. We ordered from the price fixe and saved a bundle but still got exactly what we wanted. We will definitely go back."

  • "We both had fish for dinner in a pre-opera rush. The service in getting the food to the table was lightning fast and accurate. The food was cooked to perfection. The service worked so well, there was time for some leisurely desert and coffee. Nick and Toni's is a must in a trip to the Lincoln Center area."

  • "I hadn't been to Nick & Toni's for lunch in a long while; because, while I enjoy dinner there, lunch was always disappointing. A revised menu seems to have changed that, and this time I enjoyed my lunch as did the person I was meeting. I still don't understand why they don't put bread, olive oil and olives on the table or at least inquire as to whether diners want them. (I didn't ask this time; but when I do at dinner, the items appear.) I would go again for lunch. It is quiet enough for a meeting."

  • "The wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and very kind. The food was delicious, and the wine was exceptionally good. I went there before the Opera on a Saturday evening and it was packed. Make sure to make a reservation!"
