Nick & Stef’s SteakhouseSwitched It Up...and Still PleasedWhen dining at Nick & Stef's, I typically have my favorite dish - i.e., baked skillet chicken with a side of sauteed spinach. However, due to time constraints (i.e, the skillet chicken has a 20 min prep time), I opted for a caesar salad with salmon. Truly a delicious choice - meeting the challenge of my shorten timeline and a dish comparable in taste and quality to my standing favorite. Highly Recommended!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOk for pre symphony dinnerWine list outrageous and no excuse; steak very expense no matter how long it is fussed over and aged. Service was superior and kitchen timed everything perfectly.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to go as a groupGreat place to go as a group prior to a show - services was perfect and food was wonderful5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again excellent food,Once again excellent food, ambience, and service! John took really good care of us.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMPretty expensive, but reallyPretty expensive, but really good food. We were going to the theater, so we had to hurry a bit. That's unfortunate because this is a place where you ought to take a little time. You ought to spend about 2 hours minimum with dinner.
For theater goers they have a really good shuttle service. That was a very happy surprise.
If you haven't been there before, call ahead. Because if you're driving up and down Hope St. you won't see any signs for Nick and Stef. The restaurant is tucked inside some big snazzy bank building.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNick & Stef's is a reallyNick & Stef's is a really pleasant dining experience. It is possible to talk to the others at your table without having to shout and the tables are far enough apart that you are not inadvertently part of a larger group. The crab cake was the best that I have had in Los Angeles. (I grew up with Maryland Crab Cakes.)3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of LA's best SteakhousesReally wonderful steakhouse - one of the best in Los Angeles. Clean, contemporary environment with great service. The steaks are a hearty serving - not too small, not too big - and the sides serve maybe 3 people each. Everything was excellent, including the service. We would definitely return.
The menu is ala carte, and expect to pay around $100 per person, perhaps a little more depending on your alcohol consumption (we had 5 people in our party and the bill was $500, but with tip we paid $625 total).
This restaurant is downtown LA. If you've never been there, give yourself a few extra minutes, even with GPS it can be tricky to find.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food convenient to downtownGreat food convenient to downtown LA hotels. Walk to the Music Center in just a few minutes. For a meat lover the food cannot be beat and the salads and vegetables are beautifully prepared and served. Altogether a treat!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent, butThe food was excellent, but the service was impeccable. Dining with clients is a challenge because you're trying to focus on the conversation, but at the same time need to faciliate the eating process. Our server was gracious, discreet and prompt. A great business meeting place (although a bit loud).3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a wonderful Valentine'sHad a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner @ Nick & Stef's. The service is always wonderful and the steaks are some of the best in LA. Thank you!!!2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent filet and primeExcellent filet and prime rib for entrees; the caesar salad and seafood soup were very tasty, and we can recommend the lemon meringue pie for dessert. Efficient service. An outstanding steakhouse that is fine for a pre-theatre dinner.12/15/2012 12:00:00 AM
