Nick & Sam's Grill - Park CitiesMaking Preston CenterGreat place now in Preston Center ... very nice place and great bar scene5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHot spotReservation was for 7 p.m. - table allotted by very noisy bar. Obviously a trendy after work spot. Asked for quieter table and no problem. Service very good. Ordered wine by the glass and pour was not even half full. Felt a little cheated and obviously ordered an extra glass than usually have. Felt very warm by 8 and asked the waiter for AC to be turned down which was done. Valet car service excellent - much better than usually get at other venues. Food portions small but excellent.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Brunch! This was hands down the best brunch I've had in a long time. Fun atmosphere! Not packed or too loud. Sat on the patio with the huge windows open and fans going - very pleasant temperature! Food was amazing!!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious meal, but .....We had a delicious meal, but it all came at breakneck speed. We felt rushed, as if it was all about turning over the tables quickly on a Friday evening.
In future, we will order the meal a course at a time, and won't even start this process until we are well on with our cocktails.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter than originalThis relatively new outpost for Nick & Sam's is a definite move upscale from the original Uptown location. The atmosphere is vibrant with a large bar and community type high tables adjacent to it while the dining room is divided into two separate areas each with a slightly different feel. There is also a Chef's Table inside a glass enclosed kitchen that looks fun but we have not experienced that option yet. We will definitely return to this Park Cities location in the near future.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMNice meal and ambianceGreat food and ambiance, however our waiter was way too involved in our meal. Pushy to the point of being obnoxious.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHad the BEST burger ever!Had the BEST burger ever! And the french fries were awesome. Last time I had steak, which was delish. Everyone treats us like good friends. Very friendly. We will be back again.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat variety of food, freshGreat variety of food, fresh seafood selections, wonder appetizers and pizza. I've never had anything I didn't like. Probably not the best place if you're in a time crunch on your lunch break, but very nice if you have a couple hours to spend.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTheir service from the valetTheir service from the valet to the waiter is impeccable. We really enjoy dining at this restaurant.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the low calorie contentLove the low calorie content and excellent flavors. The flatbreads are especially delicious! The vegetarian sampler salad is one of my favorites. The fish and meat dishes are all great, too. The tiny desserts in the shot glasses are perfect for a taste of sweets without over indulging.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experience exceptGreat dining experience except for the shortage of available entrees. By the time my friend and I ordered dinner around 9PM on Saturday night, three of the entrees were unavailable which was disappointing. Otherwise, highly recommend the restaurant.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb staff! The food? I'll pass. The service here is OUTSTANDING. We had a great server - very courteous and always two steps ahead of us, which we all appreciated very much. It was also a nice touch that the maitre d' called a couple of days later asking us about our experience.
Food was okay. LOVE the concept of local and organic foods, but I've had better execution. The mussels were a hit - light and very fresh flavors. Loved the biscuits too. We noticed some Asian flair, such as chili oil with fermented black beans in the calimari, which made the dish too salty. The quail was perfectly cooked but the sauce was overpowering. Flounder portion was very small.
The place looked like it was trying too hard. A mix of trendy/traditional, if "trendy" means 4 years ag4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and wonderful service.Great food and wonderful service. Can't wait to go back.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Return of Real SteakFantastic customer service from valet to general manager (who visited every table in a packed restaraunt). Creative sushi - my dad who has refused to try sushi for 80 yrs was tempted by a salmon, avocado roll w/ a dash of jalapeño. He ended up eating half the appetizer.
My filet was 10 oz not 6 or 8 and was the best aged steak I've had in yrs - like the old days before lean and Whole foods turned steak bland and mono-tasting. And one half was good the next day for bfast w/ eggs
The sides are fantastic, particularly the sautéed greens.
Fantastic experience.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMUP is better!Liked this better than the Other location- not so loud and crazy. The best crab cakes I've had since leaving Maryland. Steak was perfectly cooked and delicious.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPriceyThe experience was very nice but I think it is to pricey for a regular experience.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed so many things aboutEnjoyed so many things about the restaurant but especially the service. From the valet to the chef, everyone was really welcoming and helpful. The food was good although I thought the bread basket a little average. But all-in-all, I'm glad this restaurant has opened in our neighborhood.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a nice evening withIt was a nice evening with friends but we had an 8pm reservation and we did not get seated until 8:15 or 8:20. I was standing away from the bar and one of the hostess' came by to seat some other guests, I asked if she could check on when we were going to be seated and her response was, I don't know I just seat people. I asked if she could check and she said okay. However it seemed like I was putting her out for having to check for me, that was disappointing that we had to wait since we had reservations and got a response from the staff like that, but once seated the evening was great.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMour hostes Katlin is the personour hostes Katlin is the person that you should ask for.
