  • "The food was very good but pricey and not as good as Maldaners or Sebastian's for instance. Of course the view is great if you get seated by a window. Our major problem was the service and reception we received when we arrived. The hostess was not at her station when we arrived so we just walked in the door and was greeted with "looks" of what are you doing here by servers and the bartender. The hostess returned and asked us to step outside the restaurant which we all felt was very rude so she could verify our identity and reservation. We were also given the wrong bill at payment time. Overall the experience was not a good one and I doubt we will be back especially since there are better choices in downtown Springfield."

Even when we had a gentleman on his very first night, you could tell he was well prepared for the spotlight. I would and do recommend... Constantly!"

  • "Went for our anniversary and was not disappointed.we requested a window seat and the hostess asked if we could wait in the bar til the table opened up - we agreed we would wait a short time. Only half an hour later we were seated. Our waiter was wonderful and very knowledgeable and explained all courses to us. The food was not a disappointment - we both had steaks which we loved and of course dessert. We will go back for our next special occasion. They should be proud of their staff."

  • "I'm in Springfield for work about 2-3 weeks a month. I try to always stop in to Nick and Nino's, have a drink at the bar and some appetizers. Can't beat the view, looking out above the city. The seating hostess is always so nice, trying to make everyone happy with their table and dinner. It's a little higher priced for Springfield, but you're paying for the view for sure but the food is also good too."

My steak was one of the best steaks I have had, cooked to perfection and served exactly how I like it. We will be dinning with them again.   • "We took our kids (9 and 13) to dinner at Nick and Nino's while on spring break in Springfield. The service was great and the food was wonderful. The portions were plenty without being over the top. Enough that we could all try a little of all of them. I've had a lot of steaks in my day but never have had a flight of filets. It's a great way to try out the different crusts they offer. It's a premium price but I felt that we received premium services and food. The views are great and if you can get a window seat I would highly recommend it. We were able to watch the sun set while having dinner."

  • "Be prepared to spend a pretty penny and lots of calories here! The atmosphere is very nice and for Springfield it's probably the classiest place in town. The Filet and New York strip was delicious . Cooked as requested. The caesar salad consisted of two leafs of Romaine lettuce with way too much dressing that was mostly mayonnaise. Its one of the worst Caesar salad's I've ever had actually. The asparagus was good not overcooked , generous serving. The mozerella prosciutto appetizer was disappointing . There really are no lowfat/healthy/gluten free options. The only chicken dish is three tiny little drummettes (dark meat) placed in a mound of rice. The wine list is decent. Dessert with a sparkler (requested) to celebrate a bday. :)"

  • "This was my 7th visit to your wonderful restaurant. As always we were greeted by your awesome hostess who very professionally escorted us to our table. This was a "meeting dinner" and our server graciously noted that we were talking and took great care to not interrupt. The only complaint I had was the music was a bit loud and at times it was difficult to hear other people speaking at the table. However, this was corrected by the server when we brought it ti his attention. The wait staff, food, entire food team - always excellent, professional, gracious and courteous. We are lucky to have NIck & Nino's in our community!"

The water tasted like stale tap water with a slight after taste, the hollandaise for the asparagus was not hollandaise, this mystery sauce was a cream sauce with a butter taste, and the lobster was chewy. 3. The waiter did not ask once how the food was, we felt ignored 4. The buser had constantly asked us multiple times if we were finished and we felt rushed with the meals. Denise was incapable of providing proper seating and seated us in a remote area of the restaurant frequented by passing busers and servers away from the view (empty restaurant). When asked if we could be seated closer to the view, she could not provide us with an explaination why we could not be moved. Made us feel like second rate customers."

  • "I hoped for a great steak, but found it merely average at great steakhouse prices. I had the bone in Ribeye and expected a supposed 21 day dry aged quality steak. It was average and had little of the depth and tenderness you get with a real dry aged steak. At prices approaching Sullivan's or Gibson's in Chicago, it was far below that level. The service was top notch, but the decor is really odd. Still the best view in Springfield. I had the lobster bisque, it was a bit acidic. The potato offering was a bit too home-style for my taste as well, We did have a great desert, a doughnut based bread pudding, Despite the efforts of the staff, I just can't recommend this as a worthwhile visit. Most chain restaurants have similar quality."

  • "We ate here 2 nights in a row because the food is so delicious. The filet mignon was perfectly prepared and the choice of crusts...I selected bleu cheese.....was great. As were the sauces and sides. The next night I chise sea bass and it was a toss up as to which was best. The side of asparagus was done beautifully. The restaurant is pricey, but worth it."

  • "Nick and Dino's has the best view in the city. Even if you just go for a drink, the view is worth it. Their wine list is offered via iPad, which is cool. The food is overpriced, and you're probably paying for the view through your $40 entree. However, it's a very nice experience, luxurious even. The seating hostess is so nice, she's always welcoming and interested in making your experience a pleasant one. Out-of-towners will love this place for sure, although I'm sure they do tons of weddings and events."

  • "My wife and I went to Nick and Nino's for our anniversary. We recently moved from Chicago and were looking for someplace special to replace all of the fabulous dinning we just left. I made the reservation online and put in a request to be seated by a window and mentioned it was our anniversary. We were seated exactly where I wanted and when we ordered dessert, it came with a Happy Anniversary message and a large sparkler. We appreciated their effort. Food was very good. My wife had the "flight of filets" and said it was the best steak she ever had. My filet was very good. The service was good also. Dress is casual dress. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal with good ambiance and willing to spend the money."

  • "My husband and I don't get a date night without our kids very often, and we were looking for something different from the usual "Olive Garden" type chain restaurants. The food here was good, and it had a really romantic feel. I couldn't really see going there with a large group of friends, but maybe with one other couple. Definitely not somewhere I would choose for a Girls' Night. We thought it was a little on the pricey side, but worth it, so better for just special occasions."

  • "We are a middle aged couple - dined at Nick & Nino's for an early Valentine's Day splurge. Very nice ambiance. We were able to have a table by the window - great view of Springfield - pretty at night. Hostess and wait staff were great. Drinks looked great and were prepared very well. Presentation and taste of food was wonderful. Everything is a la carte, so this restaurant is more expensive than the typical restaurant in Springfield, The experience and dining are worth it! Would highly recommend for a special occasion or date night out."

  • "We went here with three couples for dinner.We were celebrating Valentine's Day a day late. Our server's name was Rick, he was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable patient and good at what he did. The flight of fillets was good but a little overdone for medium rare. The lobster ravioli, sea bass and scallops were excellent."

  • "Food was great! It is pricey around $100+/person, def a special occasion place. The atmosphere is upscale, yet relaxing. We wore nice jeans, dressy tops and nice shoes. The coat room was a little hard to find as it was in the lounge. We waited in the lounge to be seated for dinner, we weren't overwhelmingly impressed with the service there was a single bartender and one cocktail wItress on a very busy night. The restaurant though was amazing! Service was a little slow at times, but that was to be expected on such a busy evening! Book in advance especially on high volume days. The hostess was amazing though despite all the diners and waiting times, she made you feel special and very attentive. Overall great night and amazing experience."

  • "Although my reservations had been made over a week in advance, a table wasn't ready until over an hour past my reservation time. Additionally, I had requested a window seat which I did not get and when a window table was available, it was given to another group whom of which had not previously requested one. Furthermore, none of the waiters or waitresses had their bow-ties tied. Overall, it was an expensive meal in a restaurant with potential to be a 5 star but has a long ways to go."

  • "This is my second visit to this restaurant. The atmosphere was great. I was so excited to get back here because I had an amazing experience the first time. This time... Although overall, I was satisfied, it seemed a bit lacking in a couple of areas. I think most of it had to do with our server. He was very nice and polite, but didn't check on us enough. I ordered a ribeye, medium, but it came medium rare. Typically, I send my rib-eyes back when not cooked correctly, but decided to eat it without complaint. It wasn't terrible, it's just not what I ordered. The creme brûlée, was very runny, I sent it back and was given a better replacement. My first experience as I said was awesome, so I was slightly disappointed this time."
