  • "My daughter and I choose Nick & Nino's to celebrate my wife's birthday and I also used the occasion to ask my wife if she would marry me AGAIN. We met with the Ma'tarde a week in advance to the whole thing up and she arranged to involve the entire staff in this event - it was all a surprise to my wife who was absolutely speechless when I proposed to her. The Ma' tarde even came over and helped my daughter record and take pictures of the event. The waiter and staff were excellent as was the food, service and atmosphere. We will be back and recommend Nick & Ninos for any special occasion."

  • "There is a wonderful atmosphere in this restaurant, and a great sense of hospitality extending from the hostess to the very knowledgeable waiter. The very nice wine list and menu allowed us to make some creative choices. The location is very dramatic, on a high floor overlooking the city of Springfield, IL. We were there to celebrate a birthday, and it was an excellent choice."

  • "This is not a scenic place to go as only two tables have window views. Noise from other tables was so loud that our group of 4 could hardly hear each other. Food was acceptable, but way overpriced. ($224 for 4 people) This is not the scenic views of Chicago! I was very surprised - in a bad sort of way. We won't be going back."

  • "I think this was our seventh or eight visit to Nick & Nino's and it was another winner. Hand's-down best restaurant in Central Illinois. It's rare to go to any fine restaurant on a regular basis and not be disappointed by something eventually, but it hasn't happened yet. Great service by Bill and a warm welcome from Denise. Try the S'Mores Creme Brulee for dessert!"

  • "We went to Nick & Nino's to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. This was our first time there. The menu had a very nice selection and our server knew the items well. My wife enjoyed her filet and I my cowboy rib eye served on the bone. Each is served with an optional crust and/or sauce. The steaks cut easily and melted in your mouth. We would highly recommend Nick & Nino's for that special night out when you want to splurge on a meal and be pampered by the serve staff."

  • "A romantic date night with my guy at this beautiful restaurant. We started with drinks at the Pinnacle Club where the specialty drink had us amazed by the bartenders creativity. Then off to dinner at N&N's where the service was outstanding and the food was top notch. Not a morsel left on our plates. Thank you to all that made out date night special!"

  • "This is a great special occasion restaurant for us. From the hostess Denise to our server Rick and the food - an awesome experience. The Firecracker Shrimp is wonderful. I am in love with the lavosh, cinnamon raisin toast and Nick's potatoes. Looking forward to going back. The staff really makes it a special dinner. Even the server's assistant always had a smile on his face and added to the experience."

  • "Excellent food and service. We felt catered to and the chef made time to talk all the patrons. This was our fifth time to Nick and Ninos, always had a great experience."

  • "It was a great way to spend our anniversary evening. The night began with a delicious cocktail with Nicole at the Pinnacle Club. Our Hostess Denise seated us for dinner, and Rick not so young did an outstanding job as our server. Rick was knowledgeable in all aspects of the menu, and guided us through some excellent choices. I look forward to our next evening with the great staff at Nick and Nino's."

  • "I feel like the food is wayyyyyyyyy too over priced. Yes it was good, but price is too much. I was really excited to try the lobster bisque and it just tasted like tomato soup. VERY disappointing. I feel like my husband and I were looked down on. We didn't order wine or any alcohol for that matter. I highly doubt we will ever go back. At least if we don't we won't have to worry about filing bankruptcy. They were generous enough to pay our $1.50 bill from parking in the parking garage. Maybe if we would of received our food faster that would of at least been cheaper."

  • "We were celebrating a birthday and it was a delightful experience. The hostess and all the servers were both efficient and fun. The food was definitely a 10. The Chef had so many clever touches like the Vichyssoise soup that had three small bowls of different delicious soups. For the dessert, we have never seen such a wonderful gushing sparkler. The entire restaurant was impressed and intrigued. This birthday will not only be remembered, but also considered one of the best!"

  • "My husband and I recently tried Nick and Nino's Penthouse Steakhouse. We were celebrating some good news. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the views were nice, the staff was very professional, but I felt as though they were trying too hard to create something that I just don't think works in Springfield,IL. The restaurant is not a 5 star restaurant. The food was in my opinion average. I could have made the same food at home and spent less money. We also ordered dessert to go and I found a hair in my dessert. I know life happens but if they are trying to convey 5 star class it should never have happened. I probably won't be back but I will definitely hit up the Pinnacle again, it's down the hall from Nick and Nino's"

  • "Booked the restaurant, after reading Open tables reviews, on our overnight stay in Springfield. This really is a one of a kind restaurant, with amazing views, especially at sunset. The service and food were very good, from start to finish. The decor is like glam 70's style with black leather, sparkly tables and a touch of pink. It was almost empty when we arrived and we got a window seat which was a bonus, it stayed pretty quiet and we missed a little more buzz and atmosphere, but the whole experience was great overall and the manager/ staff are so very attentive and efficient."

  • "My wife and I wanted to celebrate a special occasion and we were not disappointed. Denise warmly greeted us and escorted us to our table by the window. We both enjoyed a panoramic view of Springfield and a beautiful purple orange sunset. Mathew our waiter was the perfect combination of friendly and attentive but not intrusive. My wife ordered the sea bass and I ordered the steak trio. Both entrées were perfectly prepared and delicious. Kudos for the burgundy mushroom steak sauce. We topped off the evening with a delightful white chocolate cheesecake. While Nick and Nino's is an upscale fine dining experience, it is not pretentious. A perfect place to celebrate a special dinner with family, friends or business associates. We'll be back."

  • "Another great meal, more great service.....Matthew is a terrific addition to the already superior waitstaff and it's always nice to have a visit to the table from the very personable Chef Steve. Denise continues to be a gem. Great new surprise: the Pinnacle Club next door features a terrific new pianist and vocalist on Friday and Saturday nights. Great place to have a before or after dinner drink."

  • "I took my girlfriend here for a spontaneous romantic dinner, and Nick and Nino's did not disappoint. We both had the Filet Mignon and it definitely was a melt-in-your mouth kind of meal. We ordered two sides (which serve 2, by the way): the chef's sauteed vegetables (ask your waiter exactly what that is; it may change), and a hashbrown brick (HUGE); both were great. Try an appetizer as well. We had these spicy sausage and chicken rice egg rolls that were a great way to kick off the meal. I would HIGHLY recommend getting there about 15 minutes before your reservation and having a few drinks in the Pinnacle Lounge, then going back for a nightcap after the meal is over. Dress lightly, too. It's warm up at the top floor of the hotel!"

  • "From the moment we walked in we enjoyed the experience. The modern decor, and the courteous/ knowledgable staff enhanced one of the best dining experience my husband and I have had in a very long time. The food was out of this world.... I can't wait to go back."

  • "I made reservations at 7pm to celebrate my boyfriend's parents 26th wedding anniversary. We were promptly seated by Denise at a window table which is what I had requested when I made the reservation. Denise was very nice, and made small talk with us before our server came over. Matt was our server. He was very knowledgable of the food, and made recommendations of staff favorites and the most popular items. It was the first time for my party so we needed a little more time to decide what we wanted. Matt checked in periodically to make sure we were doing well, and took our orders when we were ready. The food was EXCELLLENT! Everything was hot, flavorful, and came out at a good pace. We were all stuffed when we left. Overall, great night!"

  • "My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Nick & Nino's, and we had a terrific time. Everything was pretty much perfect, from the greeting at the front desk, to our seating at a window as requested, to our very informative waiter. The meal itself was as good or better than anything I've had in Spfld. Terrific salads, my ribeye was perfect and tasty while my wife's lamb was excellent as well. The chocolate cake was probably the weakest part of the meal, but even it was good. It had been a couple of years since we were last here; will try to get back a lot sooner next time."

  • "We went out to dinner here for our anniversary. The service and food were only fair sad to say. I had been to this same restaurant two years previous and it was much better. The best part of the evening was the dessert. I had requested a table by the window which I understand is difficult to accommodate due to the limited number of tables by the window, however we sat through our entire meal while a table by the window sat empty. I will not be dinning here again."

  • "This restaurant is rated #1 for Springfield on Trip Advisor and didn't disappoint. The aged steaks were great, and were offered with numerous crusts and sauces (which were optional). The vegetables were served family style, and our table ordered a few and shared them. The Nicks Potatoes were fantastic. We all ordered desserts, and we all enjoyed them very much. The service was top notch as well. Once they opened the shades on the windows, which were closed when we arrived at 6:30pm and opened when it was dark, it was a fantastic view. My only criticism is that they should have opened them sooner as the shades totally blocked the view most of the evening."

  • "One of my dining companions indicated the duck dish was the best he's every had, anywhere, and he pretty much hates everything, so you know it must be good! This was my fifth or sixth time dining and I have yet to be dissapointed....the root vegetable side special was excellent as was my filet. Desserts were shared and as decadent as expected. Service is the best in town."
