Nia MediterraneanA Truly Memorable Dining ExperienceThis was my wife's and my first visit to Nia, and we will be returning with family and friends. Very European, very hip but not intimidating to older folks (like us.) The blend of multpile cuisines makes choices fun and easy. The 8 course prix fixe dinner was the best way to sample a lot of foods: it was value-priced, the portions were large, and every single item was delicious. We especially liked the strip steak with pesto, mushroom risotto, and diver scallops. The drink and wine lists are eclectic, interesting, and priced fairly. The evening was enhanced by our waiter, Marty, a retired cop, who was one of the most helpful, friendly, and engaging servers I have ever met. He clearly enjoys his job and makes the experience a peak one. GO!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply Perfect! This is one of my favorites in Chicago. The red pepper gnocchi is TO DIE FOR. Their ceviche is delish. I've never had a dish there I didn't like. The service is always impeccable and the ambiance is vibrant with great music.
I will continue to return here over and over and over again.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOverpricedSome tapas were great, most just so-so. It is way too expensive for the amount and quality of food.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreatGreat restaurant - I was a little nervous after the 4th course that it was not going to be enough food to feed the 4 hungry men at my table, but after the delicious bread pudding, we were stuffed.
Note: We got the sangria - mango was a hit, avoid the raspberry.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA nice start to date nightMy wife and I had tickets to the Symphony on Friday. She works in Wicker Park and I work in West Loop. Late on Thursday Night, we figured that our schedules would work to have dinner before CSO. I figured that Randolph Street would be a good option for a place to get a last minute reservation (the Loop would be all booked), at a good place. I saw in Open Table that there was room at Nia, we'd never been. Our res was for 6 and I put in the reservation that we had to wrap up by 715-720 to get to the Symphony. They "managed" our time very well for us by asking if we'd like more tapas (while we were chatting away), more pita/bread for the dips, and also timed things so we felt comfy, time-wise, for dessert and coffee. It was all good.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat serviceThe waiter (Marty) FANTASTIC..... food and wine always spectacular5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there for my 24th birthdayWent there for my 24th birthday and I was amazing. The only thing I wouldn't order again was the paella. The tiramisu was to die for!!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new favorite restaurantWe stumbled upon Nia Mediterranean on a recent visit to Chicago. What a treat! Beautiful décor and an intimate dining room, coupled with a very friendly and inviting staff started our visit off great.
We had the Prix Fixe Dinner Special, only $33 per person, and we received 8 delicious courses of hot and cold tapas. A foodie-heaven of scrumptious flavors, there were lots of dishes to choose from, including vegetarian options! The wine list was impressive, and the craft cocktails were imaginative and refreshing. We, of course, had to try “The Best Sangria in Chicago” and were not disappointed. I think it’s definitely the best sangria I have ever had, in my life!!
Lots of delicious food, nice relaxed atmosphere, no-pretentiousness here!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good good. Busy inside,Very good good. Busy inside, but not crowded. Had great service even though waitstaff seemed overworked4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMVery slow service -The menu is fantastic and all the food was good. However, the service was awful. We waited 30 minutes just to get a glass of wine. Had a horrible time trying to track down our waiter to order more food, and frequently we went 15-20 minutes with empty wine glasses. We ate and drank less than we would have, simply because we couldn't handle sitting around and waiting any longer. May go back, but perhaps on a slower week night, as we did enjoy the food we had.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMet a friend for drinks andMet a friend for drinks and light dinner after work. Service was very attentive. We just had salads and an appetizer from the cold plates section of the menu and they were delicious. I would like to return with a heartier appetite to try the 8 course small plates menu, which looked to have a very nice variety at a very reasonable price. I liked this restaurant MUCH better than the over-hyped, over-priced menu and pretentious service at Girl & the Goat, which is on the same block.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's not very often that youIt's not very often that you find a restaurant that makes you feel like a part of their family, Nia does that. From the time you walk in until you leave the service is impeccable. The food, wow, I can't pinpoint one word to describe but amazing comes to mind. If you love great food and great service, then visit Nia.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Place for TapasWent here on a whim for a girlfriend's b-day after shopping. We had a drink at the bar and then ate dinner in the dining room. We did the Chef's menus and were STUFFED by the end of it! Marty was a great waiter/ bartender and made the night more enjoyable. Great place for some tapas and drinks.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great time. DeliciousHad a great time. Delicious food, great service (thanks Marty). Noise wasn't bad.
