In conjunction with the opening of NEWTON'S NOODLES downtown, we will begin offering that menu here during lunch.   • "Newton's Table is simply stated the best restaurant in Bethesda. Their change to the Newton's Noodle menu at lunch was brilliant - Great food at a great price. Not only are the noodles delicious but the tuna bites and Kapow chicken are also great. The dinner menu has changed recently and some of the additions are even better than before. The duck wontons (my favorite), the tuna tartar, fried green tomato BLT , and the truck patch salad (that has returned to the menu) were all great. The entrees were all delicious as well - duck, fuzu noodles, tuna and tortelloni. We ended with 3 desserts - my favorite, the chocolate crunch, my son's favorite,the pig brittle, and a new dessert - pecan bread pudding. And the service was perfect!"

  • "We arrived early on a sleepy August Friday and were the only people in the restaurant. The service was very attentive and the server chatty about the food but not in a disruptive way. We had four small plates which was just a little less than we needed so we treated ourselves with dessert. The food was inventive and fresh without being over the top. I particularly liked the corn chowder with a generous helping of crabmeat. The firecracker shrimp was also particularly tasty. We will be going back and I hope the emptiness is not a sign of a problem!"

  • "After our second trip, this wonderful, quiet little place has made it to our "favorites" list. Everything we ate was special. The waiter and Maitre d' remembered us from our prior visit - months ago - and we were treated like friends. The portions are perfectly sized, but taste so good you really want more. We planned to go back for dessert but got out of the theater too late so that's another trip we have to make. We are worried that it is not busy enough to make it so, please, go...often."

  • "We had a very enjoyable experience and dinner at Newton's Table. Surprisingly quiet in the restaurant (but we did have an early dinner (5pm), but business seemed to improve as we were leaving. Would definitely recommend this spot. My husband and I dine out in Bethesda quite often and were surprised that we missed this spot. Thank heaven for OpenTable in helping us add another restaurant to our rotation. The scallops were AMAZING!"

  • "With a 7:30 Friday night reservation, you don't expect the first greeting after "Good evening," to be, "We're out of Bronzino, but you should try one of our two other new fish dishes on our menu." Then, they didn't have Campari and the waiter said, "We don't have a bread service" when one in the party asked for bread, and yet, there was bread for the mussels which one of us ordered later. The Nori tuna is still the star and the wontons were very good, but the mushroom ravioli sauce was off and the mussels were the tiniest, least meaty mussels I've ever eaten."

  • "On a Sunday at 6:00pm the restaurant was quiet. No one in the bar and only three tables were being used. The service was excellent but the food was okay. The wine list was very slim because they ran out several wine selections over the weekend. The steak was served super rare (ordered medium) and we only got 3 scallops in the scallop entree. We liked the tuna appetizer. We probably won't go back. It was expensive for okay ambiance and food."

  • "Hiding in plain view, Newton's Table consistently outperforms every other restaurant in the area and the kitchen is constantly evolving- it's surely one of Bethesda's best kept secrets. I don't know of another place that collaborates with and features chefs so seamlessly. I think that's their secret sauce. Always something different and always an open table. Best service in town, no matter what's on the table."

  • "Great diinner. Our party of 4 had appetizers, entrees and split 3 desserts. The appetizers were: short rib risotto, parmesan fries, market salad and one more. The fries were great. The risotto was prefectly prepared. There were no complaints about any dish the entire evening. The entrees were fuzu (2), bison ribeye with a raspberry sauce and salmon. Three of the plates were completely cleared and the one that wasn't was doggy-bagged. The desserts were pig brittle, chocolate crunch and a linzer cake. All three were incredible. I brought a bottle of wine and the corkage fee was $15, which is incredibly reasonable. Our waiter was Chris. He was knowledgeable and the service was great. This is one of the best restaurants in Bethesda."

  • "I have dined in Bethesda numerous times, and unexpectedly discovered Newton's Table. My colleagues and i dine at this restaurant last week, and thoroughly enjoyed our food, the service and ambience. I enjoyed my rockfish dinner. The fish was very freshc and well prepared, and the accompanying veggies were a delight. My colleagues had the bronzino, and the kitchen filled the whole fish for them. They thought the fish was very fresh and tasty. We started with appetizers of tuna and gala apple, arugal and yellow beet salad, which were both delicious. The service was attentive and efficient. We will definitely be returning to try some of the other entrees."

  • "Eating lunch on Elm Street in Bethesda doesn't seem very popular as this restaurant was empty at high noon on a Thursday. Well, everyone's loss was our gain! The food was fresh and fantastic. We started with an appetizer-sized portion of their delicious cold Soba Noodle Salad with asparagus, snap peas and sprouts. (They have 3 sizes of nearly everything--appetizer, entree and family...so this place can be a great value too!) For lunch, we had 2 versions of their Fuzu Noodles ... the original and a coconut curry version. Both were outstanding and a pretty hearty size for lunch. Our server was super attentive, yet did not rush us at all. Next time we're in Bethesda looking to lunch, this will again be the place! Thanks."

  • "The theme of dinner was lack of flavor and portion at exhorbitant prices. We should have realized when we saw that the wine list was ridiculously overpriced. But no... Appetizers: The beef wontons have what appears to be cheap, store bought ground beef inside and have little seasoning. They are served with some sort of tartar-like sauce. With wontons? And the saltless, short rib risotto was $15 but no larger than my fist and included less than 1/4 cup of meat. I saw the plate and felt scammed. Dinner: my salmon was cooked ok but again the rice was bland. My partner's halibut was the real knife to the gut. $38 and you couldn't taste a thing. Not the halibut or it's accompaniments. She took 3 bites and gave up. 2people- $176 pre tip"

  • "We love the service and ambience here; plus it's convenient for us in Bethesda. The food is amazing - particularly the fish entrees and the bison entree. We'll be back soon and highly recommend it. My wife and I had dinner here Friday night. We enjoyed the short rib risotto and the black and white and shrimp apps and the whole fish Bronzino entree. Presentation was fantastic; the dishes were flavorful and cooked perfectly. My bison entree however - usually the stand out winner - was over done this time (asked for medium rare; got medium well to well done). I pointed this out toward the end of service and they comp'd dessert."

  • "Newton's Table has attracted me a second time. Both times the special entree was bison. I had never had bison until the first trip, and it was so delicious I had it a second time. Beautifully cooked, wonderful piece of meat. Preceded by the house salad, which was fine. Date had chicken kapow(?) She enjoyed it. Didn't really want dessert, but something called Pig Brittle was listed on the dessert menu as among the 50 best ice cream desserts by one of the foodie cable channels. So got it. Nothing to write home about. Ambience on a weeknight is very nice, though it was not crowded, which helped a lot. I plan to go again."

  • "I went to Newton's Table for Mother's Day. I was running late because my son got out of work late, but I called ahead and they said they could seat me a half hour later. I was very happy and impressed, especially for them to do so on Mother's Day. The food was exquisite. The flavors blended so well together. Both my sons really enjoyed their dishes as well. Unique and quite satisfying. It's a tad on the pricy side by I think it was worth it."

  • "Very accomodating for large groups provided you call ahead. Some dishes were good, but others were overcooked like the halibut (to the point of being rubbery). Waiter seemed a bit bored to be there. Although he did provide adequate service that was expected, he did not go out of his way to make us feel welcome or make any meal suggestions. He seemed a little annoyed when asked to repeat the specials. We all felt he knew he was going to get his 10% tip for our large group reardless since it is included, so he didn't make any extra effort. Drinks were consistent from our previous visit. Appetizers were the best part of the evening. Not sure I will be back for a while."

  • "I'd been to Newtons Table for lunch a year ago and had a good experience. Wanted to try it for dinner. Newton's was supposed to be known for fresh, local ingredients. That may be true, but they weren't prepared in fresh and healthy ways. My arugula salad was small and wilted. The mussels were delicious, small and plump, but served in a cream sauce (not listed as an ingredient). The ahi tuna appetizer was small, but delicious. Other food was just so-so. Apple tart and chocolate crunch were good. Overall, a very underwhelming meal. Service was pretty good - friendly but with bouts of inattention. "
