Welcome to our second "home" where we live by our motto - Life is a delicious journey.

Our life journey has brought us to Naples. It was love at first sight! We owned a restaurant and catering business in Kansas, so it was natural for us to think about opening an establishment in Naples. The name NewsStand came after we talked about the type of menus we would like to have. We wanted to have something for everyone. Remembering newsstands of our childhood and how they offered variety - "Something for everyone" - from newspapers and magazines to snacks - the name was a natural choice. To mirror the idea of variety, Julius has created a very diverse menu for your enjoyment.

On our menus you will find some classics of French cuisine and some Eastern European specials, as well as some unique items created by Julius.

  • "I am so glad they put their Restaurant on Open Table! The food was awesome and the waitress we had was Martina (Owner's wife) she was very charming. Wes had the sole and it was so so good! I had the veal snitzel and it was excellent! Julius is the chef/Owner and you know he is back there working hard and they both Martina & Julius love their cafe and love cooking! It is next to NCH hospital and if you are going West on Immokalee you take a right at Goodlette and to your left is the Restauarant. We drove by so many times and I finally said let's try this Restaurant and we did and we are so happy and are going back tonight!!"

  • "We have visited the NewsStand twice and have been extremely pleased with the food, and the staff. The food is cooked with love, and brings back memories of my grandmother's cooking. They offer both the great flavors of eastern Europe along with fresh and flavorful seafood creations. The ambiance is that of a family dining room, filled with laughter and chatter, and the wait staff makes each and everyone feel like they are part of the family. What a great find!!"

I had the fish en papilotte (?) which I plan to have on my return. One does not eat at the Newsstand for the ambiance but for the food, the service and the wonderful location for North Naples. We will be back."

  • "We tried several different restaurants for dinner, all with great reviews in the Naples area during a recent four-day visit. We liked this one best. It's completely unpretentious, and tucked away across the street from a hospital. No sunset views, but go for wonderful food and conversation. The small scale of the restaurant made for an intimate dining experience. The food was unusual, delicious, and with something for everyone, plus the unusual twist of a nice selection of Czech dishes. The service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. All four of us ended up selecting different Czech dishes, though we could have had something more familiar -- wild Alaskan salmon, a wonderfully prepared steak, etc."

  • "This is a small, family owned local restaurant in North Naples, near the Naples Community Hospital. The menu provides very good quality, freshly prepared food focused on European fare. Most dishes are prepared with care by Julius, the owner and Chef. Items such as Chicken Paprikash, beef Bourbuignon, Veal Schnitzel and stuffed peppers, to name a few, are all excellent. You can add a very nicely prepared Front Page Salad for just a few dollars. Give it a try!"
