Despite a less than appealing location in a strip mall behind a gas station, this is a good spot. Excellent food. It's obvious they use fresh and high quality ingredients. Service was terrific. Server was attentive and knowledgable. Manager or owner came over twice during our meal to ask if everything was to our liking and brought additional pita for the delicious hummus small plate without us asking for it. Solid wine list at various price points. The only suggestions I would make would be to ditch the plastic table cover and the cheesy diner type menus. I would gladly go back. Try this place. Don't judge it by the gym and vitamin store next door.

We had an AMAZING meal with great service. Even with a large party of 11 our server was always there when we needed a refill, and our food came out piping hot and delicious. The Gumbo omelet was a big hit, as was the classic Eggs Benedict. We'll be back!

Restaurant is conveniently located right off the US 421. It was a weeknight, so not really busy. Lighting was dimmed, but I wouldn't consider this a place to go for a romantic dinner as the seating is fairly open and I imagine the noise level increases as it gets busier. Decent wine list, we had a Pinot Noir which was nice. I had one of their specials which was tasty, but the dessert was superb. The service was excellent.

We go to this restaurant for our Special Occasions. If it were closer to home, we'd go more often. It's our special restaurant. Our two older boys love it as well, though my husband and I have gone as a couple too. You are always immediately seated, your waitstaff treats you as an honored guest and the food is always delicious and varied. I have never had one complaint about anything concerning this restaurant. (and for me, that is a small minority of restaurants)

  • The most difficult aspect
    roberhartVIP
    Dined on 7/24/2013
The most difficult aspect of dining at New Town is choosing your entree - there are always 4-5 on the menu that I want, so I just have to pick one and promise to go another direction next time. I do know that the menu will be changing soon, but I am also certain it will only change the items, but not the dilemma. The wine list is good, as they have their standard wines, but they normally have a few specials that work well when you want to try something different (the specials you typically won't find anywhere else, and thy are usually price friendly).

What a delighful find in the winston-salem area. The host/owner was especially hospitable. The wine list was very good, even having half-bottles on it of decent wine!! The menu was varied and all items we ordered were delicious. Thank-you new bistro for your hospitality and thank-you open table for having them be a member. We will be sure to visit again on any return trips to Winston- Salem.

This was our first visit to the restaurant. My wife and I enjoyed our meals. The server was attentive, but not overly intrusive. The only black mark is the cooking oder that was strong enough to linger on our clothing. I presume they had an issue with their ventilation system and the problem will be addressed soon.

Interesting food influenced by different cultures along with comfort food and bistro mainstays. It was difficult to choose as there was much i wanted to try. We had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner from an excellent fixed-priced menu - four courses with a glass of wine for about $80 for the two of us. Every bite was outstanding - the "shared appetizer" was a plate loaded with several different items, all of which were quite good. The filet mignon was delicious as was the grouper my wife ordered, and the dessert tray held a wide variety of tasty treats. NTB is sort of hidden away in a strip mall and getting in and out isn't always easy, but it's well worth it. DO NOT fail to give this restaurant a try - you won't be disappointed.

The food was fantastic. The service was not. Our waitress was great through ordering our entrees, but we didn't see her again until we were ready to order dessert. The guy who brought our food promised us more rolls & pepper... and we never saw him again. We didn't get our water refilled at all. The manager, when we flagged him down, just told us that our waitress had a difficult table. And walked away. He did come back, but just to offer us a coupon for "next time." (The waitress was the one - later - who offered to comp our dessert.) Yeah - we left that coupon with the check. Despite the food, there won't be a next time.

Folks, The food was good, but too expensive, for 5 of us, the bill was $156! We choose not to afored that again. The restaurant has too many tables croweded into the space, making it uncomfortable and too loud. Also, were we sat, it was so dark you could hardly read the menus.

We were visiting Winston-Salem from out of town (Washington, DC). The restaurant failed on several fronts. The dishes that arrived did not meet the expectations set by the menus descriptions. The overall food quality was not on par with the pricing. We were served wine in a glass that had a large lipstick smudge on it and upon replacement, no apology was offered. Finally, for $20+ per entree, I would think the service staff would be appropriately attired rather than serving in a t-shirt and jeans. Overall very disappointed and would NOT recommend.
