It was our first time at Neta:
food was great kind of pricy but the attention was great. All The waitreses were very kind and the food had great flavor and presentation. I definitly would recommend this restaurant to any one for a NYC dining experience."

Very obscured location (signage
almost non-existent) but incredible food! Forget about romance at Neta as it was still jamming at 8pm on a Tuesday night. Hubby and I ordered the $95 omakase (there are 3 options) as we don't want wagyu nor foie gras. This includes 5 sampling sizes of the appetizers and 5 sushi varieties (rolls, sushi....) and everything was AMAZING! Service was good - not pushy, attentive enough, friendly. Will definitely come back very very soon!"

The food was outstanding. Sushi
was buttery. Hot dishes where creative and delicious. Drink recommendations where spot on."

I know how Restaurants work. I've
been in the business for a very long time. This place needs to check its volume level and its shuffle play list if it wants anymore stars from me ever again in the future or for me to recommend it to anyone else. On the other hand the food was good, not the best of the best, but all around pretty damn good. However it would have been great if a little more refinement and thought in the flavor profiles of 3 dishes of the omakase we were served. But sometimes you just have to smile and say thank you.....too bad no one in the Kitchen could have heard us say thank you because of the loud obnoxious music being played overhead."
Dined on 2/22/2014
The tasting menu is a bit
expensive for what it is. One should concentrate on the absolutely delicious sashimi and sushi instead. They are some of the best I've ever had."
Dined on 2/15/2014
The meals, aside from being beyond
tasteful, were explained to us by a very helpful (as opposed to typically aggressive) waiter who helped to steer us into the right direction. The dishes were small but perfect for sharing and the waiter made it clear how many we would want to order-very helpful. Each dish seemed to taste better than the last and we had a hard time picking our favorite. We also sat at the bar and were able to watch the chefs make each meal-beyond impressive! I would definitely recommend this dinner to a couple looking for an intimate meal!"
Dined on 2/14/2014
We took the omakaze option on the
menu as the waitress indicated it would be the best choice.... Overall, while the food was good but not special, whatever we got wasn't worth the $400 we paid (Omakaze for 2 people). Adding to that a bottle of sake, two beers and the tip and the total bill added up to over $650. We've visited most of the top rated sushi places in the city and this one should definitely not be considered as one of them. Overpriced for what you get...."
Dined on 2/14/2014
I really like this restaurant. You
can seat at the sushi bar and watch the chefs prepare your meal. Otoro is expensive, $16 a piece. Dungeness crab salad was excellent, and the uni risotto was delicious. Beware of the the loud hip-hop music played and the loud volume of other guests. Not the most private or romantic restaurant for a date."
Dined on 2/13/2014
What a wonderful dinner! Friendly
service, relaxed atmosphere and absolutely amazing food! It's a must."
Dined on 2/8/2014
I took my fiance to Neta for his
birthday dinner. For sushi lovers as we are, it was definitely a great choice. The omakase began with hot and cold appetizers of which highlights were crab salad, sea scallop served in a shell with mushrooms and sea urchin, and vegetable tempura. After these courses, the real gems came out. Piece by piece, each sushi was excellent. The quality of the fish was superb, especially the toro. Highly recommend to any sushi lover."
Dined on 2/7/2014
For the price of the Omakase and
all the promising reviews, I expected more. First of all, I did not know that if I wanted an all sushi Omakase I needed to ask for it. So, if that's your preference don't make the same mistake I did and sit through the classic version when you might prefer all sushi. Super loud room. Louder than any zen sushi experience you'll find at the best of the city (e.g. Soto, etc.) The quality is all top notch, but I never said "wow"... Nothing memorable or stand out. All very professional, very well prepared but almost generic for the price."

Great food and service! The
omakase was an excellent choice. Will come again to this great place"
Dined on 1/31/2014
Food was good. Ordered Omakase
which was nothing special. Waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and entertaining which saved overall rating. Restaurant was bland and uninviting. Atmosphere made me feel that I don't need to go back especially in comparison to Sushi Nakazama, Sushi Yasuda, Sushi Seki, and even Blue Ribbon Sushi. Overall this was not worth the hype."
Dined on 1/30/2014
If you love sushi and want to go
somewhere special, this is the place. Although the decor is unremarkable-to-bland, the food and service are spectacular, but low-key and friendly. The food is unquestionably the highlight, and is worth every penny, although - trust me - there will be LOTS of pennies. We ordered the mid-priced omikaze and could not have been more happy with it."
Dined on 1/4/2014
Mind blowing meal. I've dined at
reputable sushi spots before, but nothing so far has compared. I honestly didn't know sushi could taste so good. My sister and I ordered the $225 omakase and it was worth every penny. I've never had such an incredible culinary experience - each course was beautiful, delicious and harmonious with the previous course."

Our family of four thoroughly
enjoyed an early Sunday supper. Being early, we were able to sit at the bar and ask the chef as well as the waiter for suggestions. Every single one of them was spot on...all very fresh and cooked to perfection. I don't think I would have ordered a white wine from Rioja, but the waiter did not steer us wrong: it was delicious! Even the desert was unique and delectable. Well worth the experience if you don't mind an expensive night out."
Dined on 1/19/2014
Fantastic food--with the exception
of a dungeness crab salad that did not live up to its price tag, the small plates were excellent--in particular the grilled whole scallop and the king mushrooms. Sushi was delicious and fresh, with the salmon canape so good that we ordered extra. Cocktails were badly inconsistent--their version of a martini was bad, the Severed Anchor not great, but the Shibui was excellent. So was the sake, and wine pours were generous, so that balances out cocktail unevenness. The food was excellent. Service was good, ambiance was fine. Music was off-key at times. (Red Hot Chili Peppers? But the hip-hop was solid.) It must be said that the quality of the meal comes at a considerable price. Worth it, but no bargain."

as a native new yorker who has
lived here her whole life... and loves sushi... i can saying confidence that this was the best sushi I have EVER had. my friend and i did the omakase... it was to die for."

Great find! We loved the
experience. Had a hard time picking since the menu is so good. No disappointments. Will definitely return."
Dined on 1/12/2014
Neta was not only the finest sushi
experience my wife have ever had -- it was up there with the best restaurants we have ever eaten in. We had the $135 omekase and it was well worth it. My wife compared the meal to the first time we ate at Guy Savoy in Paris. It was that good. The quality of the fish, the seasoning and combinations of flavors, the small plate starters were just...genius. And the service was friendly, relaxed and incredibly professional. Go. It's not cheap, but go."
Dined on 1/8/2014
I NEVER LEAVE REVIEWS BUT THIS IS
PROBABLY THE BEST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD IN LIFE. AMAZING QUALITY ALL AROUND. WILL COME BACK EVERY CHANCE I GET."
Dined on 1/4/2014
had heard from several people that
this place was amazing. I ordered a big range, mostly cooked dishes. I now see I should have gotten just sushi, as that is what seems to be the best thing here....wasn't dying over most of the dishes....and some downright strange things...wanted to love it, but it wasn't working!!"
Dined on 12/30/2013
Do the omakase menu - every bite
is outstanding including the multiple sushi courses. The staff is friendly and knowledgable and the atmosphere is perfect. This is my go to sushi spot in NYC."
Dined on 12/27/2013
The sushi was very good but the
appetizers were a bit too salty for my taste. Also there were extremely loud guest at the sushi counter and they may have been a VIP but one of the cooks was just chatting with them the entire time. Wish omakase would serve more sushi than appetizers."
Dined on 12/24/2013
One of the most memorable meals of
my life. Fantastic quality, laid- back and friendly. The omikase menu was amazing."
Dined on 12/16/2013
Had dinner at Neta Saturday night
and the food was out of this world! I wish I could give the food a higher rating, the fish absolutely melts in your mouth. Try the tasting menu for the full experience. it is a little on the pricier side, but it shows up in the quality of the food. The staff is obviously excellent as well and is wonderful at explaining each course to you."
Dined on 12/21/2013
How did I not know about this
place?. Enjoyed every bit of the dining experience. Loved the cocktails and the space and the omakase! No need to go for the more expensive ones unless you can't live without toro tartare and lobster."

Food and perfekt company"

I took my fiance to Neta to
celebrate his birthday, and could not have hoped for a better experience. The food is absolutely amazing - I am hungry just thinking about all the dishes we had. We went with the omakase, which provided a great sampling of what the restaurant had to offer. The chef who made our sushi also was kind of enough to give us extra in celebration of my fiances birthday. Our waiter also recommended a great off menu cocktail after noticing that my fiance liked whiskey. All in all, can't wait to go back."

Very creative and fresh. Highly
recommend the experience."

Great food and service. The puffer
fish and slices of fish were super fresh. Would go back here for other occassions"
Dined on 12/3/2013
They do everything right here. It
was my 10 year old son's birthday so the chef ran out to buy him his favorite, lamb (not exactly a sushi restaurant staple) and created a glorious dish for him with fresh porcinis. Wow. You know you have found someplace truly special when you argue about what was the best dish."

We visited Neta on Nov 23rd. When
we arrived we were shown to the sushi bar - an excellent choice. Here we got the chance to talk to the chefs - there are quite a few. And when we had different kind of sushi we were in the hands of a very charming and serviceminded chef. We were given detailed info of the fish - the correct way of eating it - you name it. This completed the omakase-menu and took it to another level. We were also given attention by Nick Kim, who had his station right next to us and engaged in conversation several times. I also got Jimmy Lau's card when he greeted us on the way out from a great dining experience. Highly recommended!"

We were impressed with the
attention to detail and the inventiveness of the food at Neta. Their omakase goes beyond sushi and sashimi and featured many cooked Japanese dishes which really surprised our palate!"
Dined on 9/29/2013
Well-crafted and well thought out
dishes (sushi and non-sushi). A little pricey but worth it."
Dined on 10/26/2013
High end sushi place full of
business types and rich folks. Omakase was pretty good, as always it doesnt seem worth the hefty tag, but you know that. Celebrities seem to frequent this place. Good overall experience."

Simply wonderful fusion of taste ,
aroma, texture, style and colour . Great eclectic wine list with some real hidden gems. Great service, knowledgable, precise, fun and passionate about what they do. The Maitre D knows his stuff and keeps that great balance between engaging you but staying out of the way when surplus to needs. Some of the pre Sushi courses on the tasting menus were simply exquisite. Well done The Neta Team, as it was a great team effort. The batman hand carves your ice! Sal one of the senior waiters is spot on and Cesar, the kitchen Manager great in organising the big team of chefs. Brilliant night. PS. Did I mention I own a restaurant and know how hard it is to deliver great food?"
Dined on 10/20/2013
I took my husband here for a
belated birthday dinner. Food and cocktails were wonderful and overall, we had a great time. Our server and the bartender were gregarious and fun. We would absolutely come again and would recommend Neta to friends. Omakase was the way to go. The lemonade with absinthe was FABULOUS! Loved the martini."
Dined on 10/17/2013
did the $135 omakase for two.
plenty of food and good assortment of hot/cold dishes. very savory"
Dined on 10/17/2013
The sushi is super fresh! The
service is impeccable - the waiters will refold your napkin every time you get up from the table and are happy to make good recommendations to suit your taste. The concierge asked us how we were enjoying our experience and we were even greeted by the Executive Chef! All the while it was not over the top - cool hip hop style beats playing in the background. The menu offers a great variety without being overwhelming. wide selection of wines. you can order the staples such as salmon and avocado rolls without feeling like amateur. All in all Neta does an outstanding job of providing 5-star food and service at an affordable price in an atmosphere that is trendy, fun, and best of all not stuffy and snobbish!"
