Nectar makes it easy to forget it
is a hotel restaurant (this is meant as a compliment to the General Manager and his staff because so many hotel restaurants are forgettable). We've dined here for years and we've had our very knowledgeable server before; she was great. There were some "hiccups" getting the reservation made on Open Table but, again, the GM was very customer-focused in resolving the problem."

We were celebrating a birthday and
there were six in our party. They arranged to tables, one in a private dining room and one in the main dining room. We chose the first one and loved it. It was like being in our own dining rooms....quiet, spacious and pretty. I really appreciated their work, service and making it a special occasion."

Nothing special except for the
patio. The service was ok but the food was nothing to write home about. The sweet potato fries were oily and lacked crispness. Crab cakes ($13) were ok but very small and the lettuce garnish was wilted with brown edges."

Since this is a hotel restaurant,
we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Although the menu seemed limited, there were enough items on the menu to chose from, including the special, prime rib. My husband had the crab stuffed sole and I ordered the grilled salmon. His entrée was delicious! The crab was plentiful and had a slight red bell pepper seasoning, and not too rich, which I've often found with other crab stuffing. My salmon was perfect. Both entrees came with rice pilaf, with an abundance of brocollini and perfectly cooked carrots. I really like vegetables with my dinner and most restaurants give you a stick or two of asparagus! Excellent desserts and dessert cocktails. Try the chocolate kiss! Wonderful!"

I loved our dinner at Nectar. The
view is the prime spot to see a superb sunset. First and second courses were both creative as well as delicious! Perfect for the foodie, both vegetarian as well as carnivore. Dessert was chocolate creme brullee and a chocolate volcano cake, that will make the pickiest swoone! Service was great, feels like staff enjoys working there. I 've been there before, and the hamburger plate makes a great lunch!"

I guess I may have been expecting
too much. The ambiance was great, quiet, candlelight, flowers, but we usually choose a restaurant for the food. My husband and I both had the halibut, which came in a bowl with forbidden rice and vegetables. The fish was moist, but lacked flavor other than it be well salted and peppered. It also did not have the texture of halibut. I was not sure I was eating the right fish. The bread was delicious and the service was great. The waiter knew just how much attention was just right. He seemed genuinely concerned that we were having a great time. The wine was delicious which was paired with each course expertly. Even though the service and wine were great, I am not sure I would go there again."

We dined here for New Year's Eve
and Valentine's Day so far this year. Both times were a Prix Fixe menu, and neither disappointed!! The ambience is quiet, and you should take time to sip a cocktail or glass of wine on the patio to enjoy the view. We really want to come back soon to try the regular menu offering."

Nectar was more than we expected
for a hotel restaurant. A great view location over looking Santa Rosa . Great service and a fine dining experience.i recommend it."

It would be hard to find a more
relaxing dining spot in SR. The waiters are so nice and the food selections, well priced, are excellent."

Was a little disappointed this
visit, neither the food nor the service was as good as it has been...worried..."
Dined on 12/29/2013
Very easy and convenient to dine
at after a long day at the wineries, especially if you are staying at the Hilton. Food was great and the waitress was very nice and accommodating."

It was Christmas Eve Dinner.
Nectar was one of the few restaurants with an open reservation for Christmas Eve. Now we know why. The food, decent, but very pricey for what it was. No specials offered. The décor needs serious updating with stained chairs and laminate tables clad with cheap placemats, diner style, instead of linens. Service was fine, nothing remarkable. The bill was well over $200 for three people. Later we noticed the bread, the waiter asked if we would like, was $3's a basket. Seriously? You charge $42 for a New York steak and can't offer complimentary bread? The waiter never mentioned there was an extra charge for bread. It's not the $6, it's the principle of it. That will be the last time we go to Nectar."

Carol our server was very good.
Continued to check in as we visited among our small party. Carol knew her wines and made good recommendations. She also knew the menu and how the food is prepared. Great job. I was just a bit disappointed after reading a good selection of OpenTable reviewers. Nothing over the top, Ambience was very nice and of course previous mentioned Carol. Food, very limited menu which was the biggest disappointment. May go back for lunch but not for dinner, to many other very good choices within 10 minutes of Nectar."

Dined at Nectar on Thanksgiving
and really enjoyed the Brunch/Buffet!!! Nice variety with delicious food. My only complaint is that the "whipped cream" was non-dairy. I would definitely go back."
Dined on 11/28/2013
Nectar is the special liquid from
special fruits and foods. This resaurant fits this name, as a special place for special foods and culinary enjoyment. The staff is courteous and efficient. The food is very good with a somewhat limited menu. As an added bonus, Open Table patrons receive a complimentary 3 oz pour of wine."

Arriving early for a 5:30
reservation we were informed by the hostess that the kitchen didn't open until 5:30. She was happy to seat us, however and get us drinks and an appetizer from the bar menu while we waited. We chose the patio for the view. Our server was gracious, attentive without being intrusive, answered all our questions competently and patiently and made our dining experience enjoyable. The prime rib was cooked to perfection, and the crab-stuffed sole was pretty much to die for. We had an early curtain at the Wells Fargo Center, and let the staff know and they managed to serve us and get us on our way without feeling either rushed or worrying about being late. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal together."

The food was fine. Close to
office. Wonderful views! Average dining experience at best."
Dined on 10/28/2013
Great views, and very good food.
Service was excellant. We did not feel hurried, and enjoyed a nice long lunch, visiting with friends. The inside was nice and quiet, and we did not have to struggle to hear each other. Prices were reasonable also. We will be back."
Dined on 10/16/2013
We dined in a small group. One in
our party required a bit of extra accommodation and our waitress was extremely attentive without being in our faces. She was obviously skilled at her work, and not only made everyone in our party feel welcome, but like we were not asking anything extra of her. The food was delicious -- always is -- and she made this such a pleasant experience that we will be back again and again!"

I know a lot of people may not
think a hotel restaurant in the 'burbs' would be a go to spot, especially when there are great choices in the area. The food here is awesome. Great choice to enjoy whether a hotel guest or neighbor."

As a foodie, I rarely if ever eat
in hotels particularly for dinner. We decided after wine tasting all day that instead of going back out and driving somewhere for dinner that we would just stay on property and try the hotel restaurant. I must say that our experience was amazing. So much so that we dined here a 2nd night. I had the Kobe Meatloaf the first night and the Lamb Steak the 2nd night. Both dishes were superb. I encourage anyone staying at the Hilton Sonoma to dine at Nectar. It may not be a superstar chef restaurant nor is it on the list of trendy restaurants but I enjoyed it as much or more as any of the other restaurants we dined at on our trip to Wine country and San Francisco ..also the servers work hard to make everyone happy"
Dined on 10/14/2013
In general this place was a step
above the typical hotel restaurant however fell just short of what I would typically expect for the price. The menu was slightly limited but they have a full wine list. The food was good but not memorable. Service was quite good in the beginning but towards the end of the meal our server was not to be found. Her timing was awkward."
Dined on 10/9/2013
Nectar is close to home, so we
have tried many of the entrees. However, a first for the Seafood Cioppino which had a lovely tomato broth, and a nice variety of seafood - and the prawns were huge, just wish there had been more than two. My husband selected the meatloaf (again), very generous and always excellent. We loved our waitress - knowledgeable, funny and ever so nice."
Dined on 10/3/2013
Great outdoor spot for drinks and
appetizers! The Kobe beef meatloaf was a little disappointing as this was the reason I chose the restaurant. It was overcooked and dry to the point that I could not finish it all. Prices have increased a little than what was displayed on the opentable menu."
Dined on 9/27/2013
What I love about Nectar is its
attention to detail. From the moment we were greeted by the hostess to the time we paid our bill with our waitress, we were addressed by name, everyone knew it was our birthdays and our VIP status with Open Table was very much appreciated. So many hotel restaurants are mediocre -- because they believe they have a captive audience in their guests. Not so with Nectar. My wife ordered the jumbo prawns and they were huge! I like their twist on comfort food and the ability to "customize" my adult mac' and cheese. But it is the total experience that keeps us coming back: the attentiveness of everyone from the hostess to the manager, the view (especially at sunset) and how they treat return patrons so well."

We traveled to California for a
destination wedding and stopped here to meet up with the wedding party. The staff was awesome and very accommodating and the patio view over the valley was awesome! The menu was spot on for everyone there; we all had 3 or more things we really wanted to try! The wine list was great and had some notable selections on it. When passing through this town on our next trip to Healdsburg, we will be stopping in here again for sure! Nectar really made it a special evening for the wedding party!"

This was my second visit to
Nectar. I came a few months ago as part of a group of scholarship awardees. We were a medium size group and we had great fun. The food was all wonderful. I was so impressed to find a restaurant where we could hear each other speak that I decided then and there that I would be bringing my mom sometime, as she has trouble hearing. Other than the tiniest bit of patronization, with our very nice waitress calling her 'mom', she didn't seem to mind and had a very nice afternoon and brunch. The food, again, was affordable, delicious, served in a timely manner, and beautifully presented. The scenery from the patio is very relaxing and Nectar provided perfect weather as well! ;o) Definitely recommendable! Thank You!"

A friend any myself had dinner
here on a Sunday, and while the restaurant was very quiet, the food and the service were very good. Almost like a private dining experience. I had the Kobe meatloaf, and my friend had the crab stuffed fillet of sole, both were excellent. Also a nice perk about the glass of wine complimentary becuase of the Open Table Reservation, what a deal!!"
Dined on 8/12/2013
Very nice views, even when eating
inside. Food is fine, nothing special, decent quality and quantity. Based on the reviews, I was expecting better food."
Dined on 8/4/2013
Great view, fresh and tasty food.
I liked how our reserved table was ready for my group and we did not have to wait at all!"
Dined on 7/16/2013
The food, staff and experience
were quite enjoyable, we would definitely return when in the region."
Dined on 7/8/2013
From the second we arrived, we
were treated like royalty! Greeted by name with a friendly smile by the hostess, whisked to a table by the window where we had a beautiful view and could watch a pair of birds care for their young in a nest just a few feet away (through a large picture window), doted on my Miguel who was attentive, personable and knowledgeable, and -- finally -- dined on good portions of wonderful food -- this was a GREAT dining experience. My wife and I both chose comfort food. Her meatloaf was very tasty and the onion rings were the best she'd ever had. My macaroni and cheese with Applewood smoked bacon and roasted chicken was to die for. We'll be back as we truly appreciate being treated this well! Great evening!"
Dined on 6/10/2013
Really enjoyed our evening at
Nectar. Food is lovely and the view enhances the entire experience. The salad is generous enough to split and they don't need to be reminded to bring 2 plates...the grilled scallops were first rate and the sauce was flavorful and light. Requested extra vegetables, less rice and the chef took care with a generous helping of perfect asparagus and baby carrots. The grilled tenderloin was also very delicious, served with a flavorful reduction. Extensive wine list: some accessible wines in the $30 range. Corkage is reasonable at $15. Definitely a return to place. Only criticism-some hotel guests come into the restaurant as if it were a coffee shop; dressed perhaps too casually for the quality of the place."
Dined on 5/26/2013
The ambiance was better than I
expected as the online photo was limiting. The brunch options were immense, everything was fresh and tasty. The hostess staff was excellent as was the wait staff. We were given a private dining room that we didn't even request but, was most appreciated as we had three children. The views were beautiful as well. We would definitely go back again!"
Dined on 5/12/2013
We made reservations for Saturday
lunch at this restaurant based on the reviews. Even though this is technically a hotel restaurant, we expected it to be a notch above most hotel restaurants since it is a Hilton Hotel located in the Wine County. While the outside seating area is quite nice and has an expansive view of Santa Rosa, the food was underwhelming. Our server was pleasant, but the pace was VERY slow. I'd say come back just for drinks on the patio, but our Mar-Tea-Ni's didn't seem to have any alcohol in them. Don't think we'll be going back for meals or drinks."
Dined on 5/11/2013
Food and service are good and the
atmosphere is pleasant. Definitely above ahead for a hotel restaurant! We chose it for convenience and we were pleased with our choice."
Dined on 5/3/2013
The service was awesome and the
view can't be beat, our appetizer was delicious, and i loved my dinner (almond crusted dover sole). my husband had the kobe beef meatloaf and it was dry (no gravy) and a little bland. We had our rehearsal dinner at Nectar 4 years earlier and returned for our anniversary. However, something from from the meal didn't agree with me and I'm a little leary about returning for dinner. But, their patio is amazing and they have a wonderful happy hour and I would definately return for that."
Dined on 5/2/2013
We had a very pleasant meal. Our
first choice for wine was not available but the waiter made a recommendation and it turned out to be just right. Price was reasonable for the nice setting."
Dined on 4/26/2013
The food was excellent and our
server was top notch. We also were seated at a very nice window table for two. The only negative was pretty much beyond Nectar's control. The party of 4 seated next to us was pretty loud, diminishing an otherwise superb experience."
Dined on 4/24/2013
Server was very friendly and
pleasant, as was the rest of the staff. I had several food allergies to work around and they were very accommodating. On the down side - The food was very mediocre, particularly for the cost. Lovely view, and a great space outside to eat, but I can't say I'd return there."
