Diner Reviews
  • "Had my birthday dinner here, and was happily surprised by the thoughtful touch of complimentary champagne served at the end of our meal."

  • "We had an 8:30 reservation and were seated at 8:55. They were "overbooked" and the hostess was not apologetic. She didn't offer we look at menus while we wait. Had she been nicer and smarter about it we would have had a much better experience they really need to train up the hostess she was struggling with keeping up with the flow of guests. A restaurant should know how to manage it's tables and not have people wait after making a reservation."

  • "Not our first meal nor the last at Naya. We brought friends who loved the food and the design of the restaurant. Consistently excellent food and service!"

  • "If you are looking for authentic, good-quality Lebanese food, this is the place! Service is quick and the wait staff are friendly."

  • "This is the second time I eat at Naya when I am in New York and want Lebanese food. I again found the food to be deliciously authentic. I will be back. Be careful: the deserts are large. too much for one person if you had a big meal."

  • "Every time I come here I am surprised by the food. It gets better and better every time. The wine selection is nothing to write home about but the food is amazing. Two apps and one entree to share has been perfect for me and my girlfriend."

  • "Good food. Service needs some improvement. Waiter was not attentive."

  • "For a first time at a lebanese restaurant, it was an excellent experience."

  • "We were there for dinner. They gave us a complimentary starter of thin crackers with a dip, and olives, both spicy. We ordered a light dinner. We started with the spinach salad and taboule salad. Both were great, and big. One would have been enough. We then shared two appetizers for dinner: the Lebanese sausages, which were nicely spiced, and the duo of eggplant, which were very good, but more mildly tasting than the rest of the meal; probably wouldn't order that again. We finished with Lebanese ice cream, which was lighter than American ice cream and had an unusual texture – overall, really excellent. The decors is quite modern and comfortable and the wait staff attentive and friendly. With one glass of wine and tax, the bill was $51."

  • "The shawarma took me back to the ones I enjoyed as a kid in Beirut. Food is delicious in a modern, clean setting. If you are seeking a Middle Eastern meal, this is the place to dine."

  • "Would not recommend. The food does not measure up to Lebanese food."

  • "We live in Vermont and make it a point to eat here every time we come to NYC. This is genuine Lebanese food like my grandmother used to make, served in a friendly fashion. Come with a friend, order a bunch of mezze plates and share the goodness."

  • "When I arrived they said they didn't have my reservation. When I showed them my email confirmation, she politely offered me a table at a community style table. Walking toward the back, we passed my party which had already been seated. Then throughout the meal, servers and porters raced back and forth down their narrow corridor, barely missing each other and at least once not missing each other. At first we were rushed, later ignored."

  • "It was the second time I have been at Naya Mezze & Grill . First, in a group of 12 people, a private work lunch, in wich we received a outstanding attention in a friendly atmosfere. Second, last sunday, when we had a very good brunch, tasting delicious dishes from Lebanese cuisine. Is a very clean and nice place, with a special service and good value for the price."

  • "Really good hummus, baba, tabouli, etc. Better than most I have had at other places. casual, weeknight place."

  • "We were visiting New York City from San Francisco when we found Naya by accident. It was next door to the apartment we rented. Naya caught our attention because of its unusual and attractive ambiance. It's a narrow, deep room with a very modern decor. The food is excellent Lebanese food. We had Lebanese wine as well, and a wonderful Lebanese dessert. But the most important feature for us was the outstanding, warm, friendly service. We had a most enjoyable evening at Naya."

  • "Great food and wonderful service. Will definitely go back soon"

  • "I had a wonderful time dining here before attending an orchestra concert. The service was attentive and the place itself was a luxury. With such a small, narrow place, the architect was nicely done to make it seem as if the place was more spacious than it really is. The main course was such a pleasure to eat."

  • "Great place for vegetarians and vegans. Lots of options and great service! Highly recommend!"

  • "The food and drinks came out really quickly, everything was delicious. After we finished eating we decided to have dessert with coffee and tea. The dessert also came out quickly, but no tea or coffee. We looked for our waiter, but couldn't find him -- it was hard to tell if he was still there or had left for the night. We asked them to forget about our hot beverages and bring the check over. The check had our hot beverages included in the check; we were ready to pay but asked them to take off the beverages before charging our cards. We never saw the final check with the beverages taken off. I realize they might have been a nominal amount, on principal, I would have liked to see the final bill. "

  • "Naya is the only Lebanese restaurant that rivals Lebanese home cooking in authenticity, freshness, flavor, and overall experience. The Kibbé naya (mainly raw beef) is a unique dish that should be requested ahead of time!"

  • "The food is just ok, but pretty overpriced even for NYC. Some of the items tasted authentic but others did not. The wine was ridiculously over priced!"

  • "Very different; an experience. Their menu is unique and the food is tasty."

  • "This is a go to staple when you want authentic middle eastern food. Has a nice variety and you can try many different dishes if you order meze. All the food is also relatively healthy, which is always a plus. Have been here several times and will be back. Price is a tough on the high side for the type of food and space but worth it given that they are are relatively consistent in quality. "

  • "Great selection of authentic dishes. You won't find better Humous outside the Middle East. Falafel is amazingly fresh. Shrimp was excellent. Chicken was juicy, perfectly cooked. Great Cabs from Lebanon vineyard. Archicture and design is very modern and advanced. John Wilson is an excellent waiter. Service was very good. I will definitely be back."
