The brunch is fabulous and probably the best around the Bay Area. The food, view of the ocean, ambience, service is something that can't be beat.   • "We had made a lunch reservation prior to our spa appointment. Our reservation was at 12, we arrived a few minutes before and were asked to come back as the restaurant was not yet open. We arrived back a few minutes after 12 and were promptly seated at a nice table by the window with a beautiful view. Our server was excellent; professional, friendly and informative about the dishes on the menu. We ordered a glass of wine and our meal. We expected to have some time to relax and enjoy our wine and conversation before the meal arrived. However, because there were not many people in the restaurant, I was surprised when our dish arrived within minutes. It was probably self imposed, but it felt a bit rushed. Overall, not a 4 star experience."

  • "We had Navio seafood platter. I tried a cherry stone clam and found it was very fishy.I do not want to try another items. As an entree, I had a whole Mediterranean sea bass. First of all, the fish is not fresh at all, the meat was very soft. . Moreover they overcooked and the source is TOO sweet. I expect much better food at Ritz Carlton. I will never eat seafood at Ritz."

  • "I was really expecting more choices, bigger variety of special dishes and fish. The food was good, and mostly cooked well with nice flavors, but not exceptional, and the wine list was limited. However, the view is wonderful and service good. I was expecting excellence, and it really was just good. This restaurant can do better by highlighting the local fresh veggies more and have organic / sustainable choices highlighted, in keeping with the area. Also, the bread was a very fragrant herb bread, not one I enjoyed since it overpowered the rest of the meal."

  • "Our little trio descended on this lovely refuge from the strip-mall atmosphere of driving through HMB when headed south on Highway 1. Once we entered the restaurant, we were graciously allowed to choose our seat (get a window seat if you can). The service was relaxed and suited our mood. Ivy's patience was greatly appreciated, as was the trace of a British accent. Highlights of our luncheon: 1) French onion soup with a rich, well-flavored broth; 2) charcuterie plate selection that delighted our carnivore -- the rustic fruit and nut bread was a nice touch; 3) sorbet flavors of spiced-pear, coconut, and apricot, each intensely flavored and not often my experience with sorbet; 4) our server's attitude 5) ability to accommodate the vegan."

  • "While I am not a fan of buffet, the Sunday brunch is very nice at Navio and I would recommend. The quality of the food is great and well prepared. There are not a lot of variety as compared to a Vegas buffet which I don't really need. The amount of selection are just right. The seafoods are fresh. The duck breast and lamb chop are excellent. I think putting the sashimi in individual small plates is a good idea to avoid wastage. The service is very attentive and classy. The only thing missing is the champagn which is not part of the buffet. The cocktail costs $17 each which is a lot after paying for $100 buffet."

  • "We went on valentines weekend, and table service was limited, so had to do the buffet. Buffets are usually expensive and unsatisfying. Not this one! It was the best buffet I ever experienced! I walk with a cane; and the waiter escorted to the buffet food stations me and carried my plate. The chocolate room was great!"

Being an interior designer myself I applaud the new flavor - which is more tuned into the beach luxury feeling now. I know some of the product manufacturer's used - there were no shortcuts! The food was good as usual but the service even better!"

  • "Service was a little too slow. We had ordered 2 different bottles of sparkling wine, only to be informed they were out. They finally gave us a comparable bottle for the price of the other bottles. This whole process took almost 30 minutes, the bottle should have been comped!!! Otherwise the food was amazing as was the view. Will b going back for more special occasions."

  • "First the disappointment. The hotel started charging $10 parking for validated restaurant guests ($20 without validation). I understand they charge less on weekdays. They don't need to charge for parking on that remote property, but figured out that they can, so they do. It's pretty cheap of Ritz to do this as opposed to just increasing its menu prices to suit their target revenues. The "Navio" (larger) shellfish appetizer was nicely presented. This is the larger of the two shellfish assortments and is recommended even for two people who love fresh shellfish. The boneless short ribs are always tender and tasty. The fish entree had a nicely browned crust but was moist and tender on the inside. Overall, it was a very nice experience."

  • "Unfortunately, my dining experience was disappointed. In fact, like its restaurant decor, the food looked depressed and dated. It is certainly not THE place to celebrate birthdays or go on a date. The seafood platter ($52) was fresh and tasty. The Appetizer started to go down hill thereafter. For $19, one piece of a scallop and a bite-sized pork belly was outrageous. The Main Course took a deeper dive. The Black Sea Bass ($40) was blend and has no taste. The Prime BRANDT Ribeye ($46.) was tough and chewy. In my opinion, I can get that same quality of beef from Sizzler. My waiter was nice enough to exchange it for the Berkshire Pork Chop. The quality of the pork was a bit better and I was little please. No need to waste my money on dessert."

  • "Came here the first time with my family. Made reservation 3 weeks in advance through Opentable and requested for a window table. Got a voice mail 3 day before the reservation to confirm my reservation was "at 1:30pm, for 4 people, a window table" However when when we showed up we were brought to an inner table, which is not next to the window with no explanation until I asked. The guy who brought us to the table just simply offered "oh, we don't have any window table right now." First impression, meh. The food selection was good, especially seafood. Oyster, mussel, clam, snow crab claw and shrimps are all really fresh. Nigiri, for some reason the rice was noticeably dry (they have sashimi also). There're 3 kinds of caviar to be picked from"

  • "We've been here several times over the years and went here for an anniversary dinner this year. The big revelation was the rib eye steak. Best we've had in a restaurant. We paired it with a Pine Ridge Oakville cab, and it became a religious experience. My salmon was also great. Many flavors in that dish, but it all worked. I would pass on the flatbread next time. It's, but not distinctive, and I wish we'd tried one of the other apps instead. The service is always top-notch, and the view cannot be beat."

  • "I came here for my birthday on the 24th and let me just say- service was amazing. I was most impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the quietness of the atmosphere. The food was very good and the presentation was a plus. I loved their focaccia bread as my starter. I asked the waitress to make the bread a lot warmer and in a minute, she brought in a plate of crunchy focaccia bread. Yum! As I was eating my dessert, the staff told my parents to be silent because I had no idea what was going on! They surprised me with a plate that was written Happy Birthday in chocolate! They also prepared a restaurant gift which were a box of delicious chocolate. I couldn't ask for a better birthday. Everything was worth it!"

The servers were helpful, but somewhat inattentive. We kept having to flag them down to refill water. Although the tables were full, the room stayed quiet. This made conversation easy."
