  • "How does a restaurant that takes reservations not plan accordingly to make sure the kitchen is stocked with everything they have on the menu? They were out of 3 of the 5 seafood entrees on the menu and one of the appetizers. I ended up getting the filet mignon, which was nothing special. Overall, Navio was a huge disappointment."

  • "We were a little disappointed. The only CA fish was the Black cod on the menu, it was darn, near seasonless. Our Baileys and coffee drinks in a take out cup were $16.00/each. Now the oysters were delicious! The ambience, and view were beautiful."

  • "Overall very good. The view alone is worth the price of admission. Food was 3.5 out of 5 stars - quite good. Service was very friendly, and overall competent. They seem to know very little about beer. I had to send it back twice, and they ultimately did not have the beer listed on the menu. Otherwise, given the outstanding ocean and golf course view, it balanced out to a very enjoyable time."

  • "Food was incredible. Had dinner on sat night and the bass was amazing. My wife's filet, outstanding. Had the brunch on Sunday and again the food was incredible. The service was impeccable. Just simply outstanding. If I could offer a critical comment it would be the following. $17 for a cocktail is outrageous. This is fairly standard. Just blown away by that cost. Brunch price at $100 per is over the top as well. Simply impossible to eat that much food. We enjoyed our time but would I pay that much again, I doubt I would."

Food seemed to lack the subtle flavorings we appreciated in past (e.g., the brioche grilled cheese - sublime). Also, didn't leave the carafe of coffee on table as previously (same price, though)."

  • "The service and ambiance were fantastic. The food, while good, varied between 4 and 5 stars. The soup and appetizers were top notch, some of the best oysters I've had, and the dessert was a work of art. The main courses were the weakest link. My scallops were cooked perfectly, but the overall portion size was somewhat small. My wife ordered the short rib which didn't quite live up to it's billing. Admittedly, that is a signature dish at a local eatery near our home, so the bar was set pretty high. Overall though, I would recommend Navio."

For $100/pp, you get all you can eat cavier, sushi, handmade pastas, and almost everything else one can imagine. Combined with delightful Champagne-based cocktails, you can't go wrong with a trip to Half Moon Bay. Just don't forget to pack your wallet!"

  • "Treating my best friend to a special weekend in her sixth month of pregnancy was an extravagance of epic proportions. Generally, we are ladies of humble means and not accustomed to the level of fanciness exhibited at The Ritz. Surprisingly, we were made to feel very comfortable at every turn, and our dinner at Navio was no exception. Our server was gracious and accommodating. The food was expertly prepared. The view from the window was unparalleled. Totall worth it."

  • "Navio was and according to the Ritz manager on duty has always been closed on Monday and Tuesday. Our booking with open table was for a Tuesday night. The alternative restaurant at the hotel is called the Conservatory. The food was satisfactory, but no where near the fine dining menu offered at Navio. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. I am not sure if open table has the error in their information regarding availability or if the Ritz has not clearly identified which days the restaurant is open. All in all it ruined what was to be a special Birthday dinner night . Very disappointed!"

  • "Staff is very helpful and friendly. I can tell there is a hotel emphasis on this. Seafood bar is not what I want personally, especially raw oysters. I try to go here 2-3 times a year for special occasions. I wish they still had the white tablecloths which are an elegant touch for an elegant restaurant. View of the ocean is very special."

  • "Navio provides a good meal but you are paying for the view and for stepping foot in the Ritz. I have had more expensive meals but those meals were worth every penny. Eating at Navio was an experience, great views, good food and very attentive service but when I pay that kind of money I want outstanding food and I can't say thats what I got. I left feeling pretty good about the experience but its not something I would recommend and you can get the view from the bar and not pay for dinner. Although the drinks i saw on the cocktail list were $16.5 a piece so I would drink slowy. "

  • "Less than 45 minutes south of San Francisco is one of the most picturesque spots on the West Coast. The service was excellent including Pat, our server for the day. The food and views were amazing, especially the desserts. Just as we were about to finish, Pat brought over a small rectangular dish and lit candle, "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate with a small box of chocolates since I had noted we were celebrating my friend's birthday; a really nice touch! After a couple of hours of enjoying the brunch, we took a short walk of the beautiful hotel grounds and a great end to a "mini" getaway from the big city! My only negative point, you would think valet parking would be included with brunch but it's discounted valet parking."

The views are not bad but it's not a wide open, expansive view of the ocean unless you get a table next to the windows. The main reason for rating it only 3 stars is the price. For the food, I would not justify the expensive price especially when you add the tip (for a buffet where you have to serve yourself)."

  • "Heard about this place from numerous friends and decide to come here for dinner after a days worth of adventures. Was seated promptly and was seated right at the window. We had late reservations so couldn't see the whole sunset but it was still quite nice. Food was good. They had to go to the other side of the restaurant to get one of the other appetizers that I wanted to try. Great service and very friendly waitress. Highly recommended and will go again. "

  • "its hard to go wrong here if you're celebrating something. we had dinner and brunch here on a recent trip to half moon bay. the dinner was AMAZING melt in your mouth seafood (seabass, scallops, octopus, and oysters) and the brunch defies explanation - its includes everything you could possibly imagine and then some (priced to match). enjoy it whenever you can"
