Diner Reviews
  • "Second visit in as many weeks, and Natalie's came through again. Along with well prepared, beautifully presented food, the level of professionalism of the staff is most impressive. Our new fav in the midcoast region."

  • "We had not been to Natalie's in a number of years because it used to be rather stuffy. Now you are greeted at the door by the friendliest Maitre D ever. We had the best table outside, with a fantastic view of ocean and mountain. It is very pricey to come here and the options are limited to prix fixe so you will be spending at a minimum $70 per person, but it is totally worth it. I had the 5 course lobster meal, figuring this is the ONLY place I will see it. Each course was varied and playful and delicious. My parents had different prix fixe that were also just phenomenal and fun. There are also lots of neat little extras (amuse bouche x2, bread service with special salts to choose from, lolly pops for the walk home, etc.)"

  • "My husband and I had the 3 course Prix Fixe menu with the wine paring. We were given additional small tastings between our 3 courses that added to the enjoyment of the evening. It was delicious! We had an inside corner table facing the harbor. Very romantic. The service was outstanding. We will certainly dine here again when back in Camdem. Michelle & Ned Atlanta, Georgia"

  • "Natalie's food is exceptional and you cannot find a better view than having dinner on the porch. Their wine list is awesome and their cocktails are amazing. We rarely choose to do wine pairings but I highly recommend you do it here. The halibut is awesome as is the lobster and the filet. First course of scallops, tuna and gazpacho also fab."

  • "Natalie's does everything right -- a lovely room, attentive and even thoughtful service, and fine dining. The food is complex and carefully prepared, though the tasting menu would have benefited perhaps from a simpler dish or two for contrast. Wine-pairing was memorably good, more so, even, than the food. It was even a delight to be at a top-rate restaurant where diners were not wearing jeans ans flip-flops."

  • "Being world wide "foodies" we love wonderful surprises..... Natalie's certainly surprised in an extraordinary way ... Fabulous food, exceptional service and "Amazing wine pairing ""

  • "Dinner last week was without a doubt the best meal we have had this side of Italy-every dish was prepared to perfection with proper portions to allow one to appreciate everything-the inter-course creations were also little marvels of ingenuity-Service extremely professional and helpful-a wonderful evening!!"

  • "Fantastic experience. First night tried the seven course and second the three and great flavor and very good staff. This was our second year staying at the Inn and surprisingly gets better (Inn and restaurant ) each year. Interested to see how the property they recently took over in Portland is transformed."

  • "Our friend's have been telling us how amazing Natalie's was for a year, and finally we got the opportunity to experience what can only be described as exquisite. The atmosphere was perfect, staff very attentive and the food a culinary delight. We chose the wine pairing which was an experience in itself. If we return to Maine next year we will definitely return to Natalie's and The Camden Harbor Inn."

  • "The food was quite good, but subtly of flavors was missing for a Relais & Chateaux, and a 4 Diamond AAA rating. The setting is nice and a view of the harbor from the outside dining area. Service was excellent. The ingredients are fresh from local farms and their own gardens. Prix Fix for three courses is $72/person, or more courses are above this figure, plus wine pairings will be more ($50+)."

  • "Tried too hard on the presentation of the food. Looked pretty, but the food did not taste as good as it could be. There were holes on the service. One wait staff was professional, one was not, made an unprofesstional comment to customer. An excessive wait time for one of the dishes as if the customers were forgotten. Quality all around and consistency are expected from a Relais & Chateaux member restaurant. But the restaurant has potentials."

  • "We stayed at this R&C hotel and had dinner at the hotel restaurant both evenings we stayed. Dinner both evenings was excellent, but the second night was particularly so because of the service provided by the young (19) male server who provided a good balance between professional service, yet very friendly approach to his customers."

  • "Service was very slow and rather pretentious. Food was prepared well but miniscule portions in oversized dishes. Not worth the price. Outdoor seating is overlooking parking lot with a glimpse of the waterfront in the distance. Very disappointing."

  • "This was probably the best meal and dining experience to date. We had the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing...The staff knocked it out of the park...it was a very special occasion and they treated it that way. It is forever a wonderful memory and experience. Thank you"

  • "Not bad but not wonderful. The tables are too close together. The food is good but not great. Our waitress was excellent, though. Very attentive. We had the lobster tasting which was a bit of a disappointment. Not very inventive and there is fresher lobster to be had at lesser establishments."

  • "The food was delicious. The service was outstanding. Really nice surprises throughout the meal. Do not miss it if you're anywhere near Camden."

  • "Refined flavors, unique dishes, excellent wines and attentive and detailed service are making this restaurant a must visit when you enjoy the better things in life. We live on the west coast and dine frequently at the French Laundry and thought this was better, much better!"

  • "The experience was fantastic from beginning to the end. The Maitre d'Hotel welcomed us warmly using my name even before asking me. the service was very smooth and not intrusive but with a lot of attention to details. My wife and I choose the lobster menu. It is a slam dunk. Very creative and the right portion. It was absolutely delightful. I hope I will have the opportunity to come back. Thank you to all the Natalie's team member to made our evening unforgettable"

  • "My wife and I have been here 5-6 times during the last few years and it was nice to see that the owners are continuing to push the food side of the business as well as the hotel. We had dinner there twice this week...with server Alex who did a great job of assisting us through various courses. Our first night was the food tasting mated with the wine tasting whereas the second night involved us picking our own wine. The wine steward Michah was excellent as well..the pairings were great...and he had a great personality for explaining the pairings. Of course nothing is ever perfect but for the most part this is a great restaurant. Sit back. Enjoy the multi courses. Savor every taste."

  • "My husband and I came to Natalie's of Camden to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We were delighted beyond our expectations. The ambience, with the lighted candles around our table, to being seated in a special area in front of the fireplace, to the special details of printing a congratulations note exclusively to us in our menu made us feel special and made us so happy to celebrate our special occasion at Natalie's. We chose the 5 course "Lobster Tasting" that Chef, Chris Long, was awarded the"Chef of the Year 2013" award. Creative, delicious, exotic, amazingly beautifully prepared creations were presented with outstanding service. I can't say enough, other than "I'd definitely go back!"."

  • "From the raw oysters to the amazing rhubarb crisp (and everything in between), it was a perfect brunch. It was our first time at Natalie's, but we'll be sure to return for our next special occasion. We'd also like to stop by for a drink at the spectacular bar. The service was extraordinary. "

  • "Went for Mother's Day brunch... Fantastic service and amazing food as usual! My only issue is that one of our party was placed directly in the sun outside and ended up with a sun burn! We could have asked to move and they would have accommodated us but we didn't think about the possibility of burning at the time. Try to seat shaded tables first in the future or get some fancy umbrellas for the tables for lunches :-) Other than that, I'll enjoy coming back again and again! "

  • "I was delighted to have discovered Natalie's at the Camden Harbor Inn this Mother's Day, where my wife and I enjoyed a wonderfully diverse selection of hors d'oeuvres and brunch treats, Buffet style. The blueberry pancakes were an incredible surprise and, without exaggeration, have set the bar MUCH higher everywhere else on the Mid Coast. Before we ate, enjoyed tasty, creatively-conceived cocktails. Our table servers were delightful and responsive. As if we hadn't already eaten enough, we were invited to a pastry table, where we enjoyed amazing deserts. We had the best Raspberry-Rhubarb crisp we've ever had, and had to sit on our hands to keep from getting up for more. ---- Ezra and Marty, Belfast, ME."

  • "We visit Camden several time a year, pretty much every season and it's always a special town. And so is The Camden Harbour Inn where we always stay. Hanging out at the bar before and after dinner with friendly magician bartender Seth is always great fun. We had the special five course Lobster dinner, very nice and so appropriate for a weekend in Maine. Super friendly staff, comfortable rooms and then...Mother Day Brunch at Nathalie's, outside on the deck overlooking the harbor. Perfect weekend."

  • "We were really disappointed with a very snooty waiter who didn't give us the time of day. We ended up leaving. Very disappointing because everyone else was very accommodating "

  • "A friend and I had dinner on a Tuesday night while we were in the area for a conference. The food was amazing - beautifully presented and prepared. The three courses were wonderful, the wine selections were fabulous, and there were a lot of special tastes throughout the meal that gave further insight to the chef's talents. The night ended with a special box of chocolates - a wonderful touch to a special night. "

  • "Eating dinner at Natalie's was a dining experience, not just a meal out. We had a lovely table in front of a fireplace with candles burning. The menu is fixed price, with a list of choices for three courses. In between courses we were unexpectedly brought small bites of a variety of things. This was a delightful surprise. Everything that we ate was absolutely delicious, and prepared in a unique way. Local ingredients were used as possible, and I truly enjoyed the unusual and creative way that everything was prepared. The wait staff was very attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about all of the dishes served. We were not rushed, and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We will definitely return to Natalie's when we return to Camden!"

  • "We arrived atop a hill overlooking scenic harbor in Camden. The dining room was lovely with a sweeping view and charming red and white décor. The service was very attentive and accommodating. The food was very tasty and there was a nice variety. We would have liked to have had a little more choice in the pastry selection for dessert. Otherwise a lovely brunch and much charm."

  • "Couldn't have been more happy with the service, the food and the entire overall experience. It created a wonderful birthday memory for my wife. She commented the next day that it was probably the single best dining experience that she has had. We have been to some pretty nice places in our time and I would tend to agree with my wife, this was probably at the top of the list."

  • "The parking was tricky but once in the atmosphere was warmly elegant, with exquisite service, and phenomenal food and drink pairings. As a party of three, we were initially seated in a lovely seating cluster in the lounge before moving to the main dining-room. We all had different menu selections and the visiting mixologist both entertained and educated us with his respectfully dramatic explanations of what and why he chose our alcohol pairings. The evening was like a subtle gourmet dinner theater and we unknowingly held center stage in all 5 acts! The servers were perfectly synchronized with our personal dining pace allowing us to actively socialize while enjoying our meal. This was not an inexpensive evening but worth every penny!"

  • "Natalie's is as fabulous as advertised and they made these two novice foodies feel right at home. We had the lobster tasting and I'm pretty old fashioned about my lobster but we were thrilled with every bite. And the dessert was beyond incredible."

  • "Natalie's is a restaurant you go to for special occasions. Each menu choice was coursed between 5 and 7. My wife and I went with the 5 course lobster special. We knew that we would be enjoying our meals over a three hour period but that it would be reloaded. Everything was perfect! Great food, wine and service."

  • "After an hour’s drive on icy roads, we walked into a cozy scene with a blazing fire and a great looking bar. We vaguely regretted that we were not going to eat there. The dining room was lovely, too, the wine list was good, and we chose the seven course-tasting menu. We especially enjoyed the gnocchi with mushrooms in a rich sauce and freshly shaved black truffles and the lobster tail on bok choy leaves with a blood orange sauce. Dessert was a beautifully arranged plate of little Dutch pancakes called “poffertjes” with a smoked maple ice cream. All in all the presentation, blending of flavors, and relaxed pace of our meal was enhanced by the wait staff’s attention to detail and the precision with which the chefs presented each plate."

  • "We dined at Natalie's on New Year's Eve and what a remarkable night it was! It was a special 'gala' event with live jazz, sumptuous hors d'oeuvres and a delectable 8-course tasting menu. Festive and impeccable from start to finish. HIGHLY recommend to any and all who truly appreciate fantastic food! As an aside, I highly recommend staying at the Camden Harbour Inn, too! (Natalie's is located here......)"
