Diner Reviews
  • "Dined at Naples for a birthday celebration. Staff was extremely accommodating. Manager sent out complimentary dessert for our birthday guest, very nice gesture. Service was very good on a busy night."

  • "It is quiet at breakfast; not so much so at lunch, when it can get really loud."

  • "Went to Naples for the Pre-Fixe. Slightly disappointed due to 2 items on the menu not available, but the sever gave us the option for any other choice off their regular menu. Food was OK. Service was very friendly and accommodating."

  • "I love everything that Chef Steve cooks....his food is always amazing!!!! I was there at Naples 45 again last night. I had the burrata appetizer, which was soooo good and soooo fresh; plus the lentil with pancetta soup - OMG, you could taste the pancetta; and then the porkchop, which was so moist and wonderfully tasty! Thanks Chef Steve - your food is ALWAYS phenominal!!!!"

  • "It is decorated like a terminal and the noise level is also maximum loud like a terminal. But the food was surprisingly delicious and well prepared. The two pastas that we ordered were perfect to its texture and taste. The branzino fish was also excellent. The service was at its best. It was beyond our expectation. We will go back again regularly."

  • "Great spot if you're looking for a good quick meal before hoping on a train or going to the theater. The pizzas are especially delicious. Because it is big, there always seems to be tables."

  • "I met a friend for dinner at Naples 45 since she's a commuter and uses Grand Central for her train. The place was so noisy that it was difficult to carry on a conversation without shouting at each other. The food is OK - my lasagna wasn't very hot. I might try it again, if only for the convenient location. Price, including tax and tip, was $60 for 1 lasagna, 1 glass of wine, 1 large salad. I would recommend Naples 45, but with a caveat."

  • "Dined at Naples 45 for the Pre-Fixe on Valentines Day. The food took awhile but the service was outstanding. Nice wine and beer list."

  • "We clearly hit Naples 45 on a bad day. Their ovens weren't worked, due to a "fire condition" nearby, so they couldn't serve many of their signature dishes. Still, what was available was good. We'll try again when everything is working."

  • "Overall, we had a very good experience. Although the pizza oven is not working, two of us ordered a flat tube pasta with a red meat sauce recommended by waiter. It was delicious! The calamari is very tasty and has a nice crunch. My friends and I sat there and chatted for hours--no problem. It was fantastic. Will definitely go back."

  • "Moments from your train, Grand Central commuters may find this spot hard to resist. Yet dinner left much to be desired. Food was okay... calamari and eggplant appetizers were the best thing served. Unfortunately, we hadn't made a dent in them when our entrees were served. It's not like they needed the tables, the place was empty, so I'm not sure why we were rushed. The waitress repeatedly came over to prod us into ordering when I had made it clear that we would let her know when we were ready. I thought the lasagne entree I ordered was of the quality of something I could get in any fast food Italian place. Meh."

  • "I've dined here several times and it continues to get better. Our server Edwin was gracious and attentive. The lentil soup was good. Order a few Picolli Plates to start... They did not have pizza but their are an abundance of other options."

  • "The best deal here is happy hour. Complimentary pizza, cheese and cured meats at the bar, when you buy a drink. Otherwise the highly hyped pizza is just that. Hyped. It is good. But far from great. Licensed pizza authenticity certificate from Italy? I guess that does not really make this pizza stand out from the other great pizza made in this city without the certification. WIGB? Yes"

  • "No pizza.... No Problem... The staff informed us immediately that their was an issue with their pizza ovens... Pasta Special was spectacular and waitress was extremely accommodating on all ends..They have plenty of options on their menu... GREAT TIME!"

  • "Great experience. While I wish the pizza oven had been running, the service was very swift for all three courses of our meal. The wait staff does hover a bit but only to make sure you have full glasses of your choice drink. We were on our way to a Broadway play and this delightful gem was in a terrific location for our walk."

  • "We ate here during our Christmas trip to NYC. The food was really good - the pizzas and pasta were all excellent. However, the service wasn't great. The welcome was curt, and our waitress, while very attentive, clearly had too many customers to serve. We had to wait far too long for our food. Hopefully we visited on an off night, as it's a nice venue and the food is great."

  • "We had a Boxing day dinner here in 2013. 2 children and 4 adults. The eggplant parmagiana is so good we just kept ordering more. So are the rice balls! This is very authentic Neapolitan cuisine. The pizza was gorgeous! The fish dishes are done perfectly. The pistachio gelato was the best anyone had tasty with a nice follow of the salt which made it seem this was made in-house. I have been here many times in a group and it is really fun and tasty! Highly recommend and the location is great for everyone...right upstairs from Grand Central in the Met Life building facing out to 45th Street. PS There is a simple kids menu too. Staff is very hurried but good and accomodating."

  • "I found this restaurant while searching places near my hotel. Reading the reviews it sounded really good so we decided to give it a shot. I was not disappointed. I had the pizza piccante that came with chicken sausage, diced tomatoes, pepper flakes, provolone, and mozzarella it was literally some of the best pizza I have EVER had. It was spot on to true Italian pizza you would find in Italy. The crust was thin but not crackery, the crust was the right amount soft and crispy and the bottom had the slight char real pizza should have. For dessert I had the torta coarse ak cioccolato Basically chocolate almond cake and I added a scoop of homemade vanilla gelato. It was fantastic. Amazing food won't be disappointed!"

  • "The food and service here were very good, the place is huge but the service was still very friendly. We started with a pizza which was delicious! My wife had a pasta with a meat sauce she said it was great as well. We will come back soon"

  • "The Naples 45 hostess said the restaurant couldn't honor my 10:15 AM breakfast reservation because the health department had just arrived for an inspection of the Naples 45/Cucina kitchen. No one offered to make amends for the inconvenience and our party had to figure out another place to go. We ended up at Pershing Square on 42nd Street across from Grand Central and had a lovely breakfast. In addition to the unavoidable surprise nature of the health department visit, Naples 45's total lack of concern about resulting customer inconvenience was a big surprise."

  • "Lunch at this place is LOUD! Our server was excellent and the specials that were recommended were delicious. Try the market fish... Our server recommended it and its great. Would definitely recommend.. And will return for future business."

  • "We arrived late to an empty restaurant at 11 AM and apologized. Hostess told us they were serving lunch and seated up on a high top. I objected because we were having a business meeting and preferred a banquet. She had an attitude but gave in - the place was totally empty and the size of a football stadium. Decor is fake Under the Tuscan Sun. Friendly, helpful waiter, eager to please, but food was bland and unappealing. By 1230 it was packed and the noise level was intolerable for normal conversation. I have been here before but only for breakfast and it was good with large tables and lots of them. Wouldnt go for lunch again."

  • "Food is pretty good, love their Milanese. The service is a bit slow mostly because the place is always busy with after work folks. It can be really loud in there as well. If you want a nice relaxing quiet diviner, don't go to Naples, if you want a happy hour atmosphere or to grab a bite with a few co-workers before getting on the train, Naples is perfect. The food really is good. Salads and pizzas are the best."

  • "Food and service are always exceptional when dining at Naples. Very noisy bar."
    Dined on 10/24/2013
  • "A first time for brunch--few good places in the area. Convenient to Grand Central. Good, basic brunch fare with much less noise than other times."
    Dined on 10/21/2013
  • "While Naples 45 may not offer the best dining experience in town, it manages a decent breakfast and lunch menu and some rather good thin-crust pizzas - based on my experience at least. Service is attentive - though possibly a little stretched when things are at their busiest - but perhaps the strongest selling point is location. The restaurant's proximity to Grand Central Station makes it an excellent meeting place for those arriving or departing the City here and it doesn't mean quite such a dent to the wallet as some of the other establishments that can make the same claim. Naples 45 won't give you any wonderful new culinary experiences, but as a place to meet and eat, there are times when it's likely to hit the spot."
    Dined on 10/16/2013
  • "Went for a birthday dinner and this place continues to excel. The specials the waiter recommended were spot on. Table near the bar was noisy, but overall very enjoyable. They made this night special!"
    Dined on 10/10/2013
  • "We waited for 15 minutes to have someone finally come over to our table while people who came in well after us where being served appetizers already. When we finally got our waitress she was not apologetic about the wait and had no enthusiasm to be there at all. She appeared to be completely put out she had to serve us. When our food arrived it was ok but not something I would come back for with such poor service."
