  • "I decided to make a reservation here because it was walking distance to the Geffen and we loved it. Our table of 5 had the best wine and dinner before we headed off to our show. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Westwood!"

  • "Napa Valley Grille is one of our favorite restaurants. Food, service, wine are always wonderful. Servers are knowledgeable and they and the chef are helpful with accomodating special dietary needs. We can always finish off a fantastic meal with delicious dessert and even good decaf coffee. The restaurant decor is comfortably elegant. Backround music is quiet and tasteful (often jazz). We appreciate that we can hear each other across the table."

  • "Just a great go to restaurant...friendly and good food."

  • "This restaurant is an easy walk from the Geffen Theater in Westwood. It worked perfectly to meander over after a matinee performance and enjoy a leisurely Sunday dinner. Loved the architecture. Our server was attentive but not intrusive and gave us the time to have a leisurely and enjoyable dinner. The food was very good, I don't remember anything particularly memorable but I do know the overall experience was great and we will go back."

  • "salad was soggy and not interesting and the piece of salmon was miniscule. the atmosphere, coffee, and the service were good but the food was disappointing."

  • "The food was very good (short ribs) and the service also very good. It was lovely eating outdoors on a balmy night."

  • "The service was excellent; we were seated promptly and had a good menu with fairly wide selection. We were a party of 5 and everyone was well satisfied with their choices, which is often not the case. I had not eaten at Napa Valley Grill for some time but was glad that we were in the area again so we could go there as the whole experience was very good."

  • "Consistently very good food, friendly staff, lovely setting, great service. This is why it is always our pre theatre go to spot!"

  • "Very disappointed. Friday night, busy BUT service was off, food was off. Despite 3rd visit will not return again. Celebrating yet no mention before during of after meal. Disappointing."

  • "Napa Valley Grille remains one of the best restaurants in the West LA area, with creative dishes, solid entrees, and outstanding desserts. A perfect place for a business lunch, but be warned it can get busy."

  • "We had early reservations before a performance so the restaurant was not crowded. We were ushered to a table in the corner of an upper level. We were the only diners in the spacious room until the last 15 minutes. We could observe the diners on the main floor and it appeared everyone was enjoying themselves. Our service provider and food were both superior however, being seated completely away from any other diners was off putting and took a lot away from our dining experience."

  • "It was a last-minute decision to have brunch there and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance."

  • "We have re-discovered this place and I have been going there frequently...both for their great happy hour and regular dining. However, Wednesday night I invited two friends for a pre-theater dinner and I was actually embarassed. We all ordered their kale salad (which has always been delicious) with grilled salmon. The last time I ordered it that way it was great...this time the salmon was literally a SLICE of salmon rather than a filet...it was as though they took a filet and sliced it in half lengthwise. It was thin, dry and had no taste! The waiter offered to take it back, but we were making a curtain and I didn't want to make an issue in front of friends."

  • "Was suggested as a place to dine before the Geffen. So glad I found this restaurant. Will definitely be back. My friend and I split the kale salad, halibut, and butterscotch bread pudding topped with roasted marshmallow."

  • "I have been to Napa Valley Grille for lunch meetings and for romantic dinners and it is always fantastic. The service is great and the food is excellent."

  • "The restaurant was OK but not worth the money. The restaurant was loud and uninspiring for the money. The service was average for a restaurant in that price range. There was not enough space in and around the bar area to sit or stand and wait until our table was ready. The restaurant was just ordinary and there was no feeling from the service staff that they were happy to have you in their restaurant. There was nothing bad about the experience but it was just a meal out. When you pay the higher prices to have dinner in Westwood, I expect it to be a special or memorable experience."

  • "Three of us made an Open Table reservation while driving back to LA. We arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes after making our reservation and all was in order. Service by our waitperson was very good. What made the service outstanding was that the executive chef stopped by to make sure my wife's lamb was, indeed, rare as ordered. The manager stopped by our table twice to ask about the wine we ordered and even offered us tastes of the Caymus 40th Anniversary Cuvee - which was above my price range, but a really nice gesture. (The Caymus was great). Food was very good and the service was excellent."

  • "Great food. So so service. They were not that busy (5pm reservation) We wanted a table on the patio but they had a private party. Would have been nice to get us a table close to a window outside. Didn't happen. Huge gap between appetizer and entree. Waiter was nowhere to be found. Tag team approach didn't work well. Bus boys were sloppy when clearing table.(spilling things) Not bad but could have been soo much better."

  • "We live in west valley and met friends from Beverly Hills, good spot to meet halfway. In spite of the fact that it was UCLA graduation, we had a very good waiter and good food, in spite of the long wait to get seated due to graduation."

  • "Husband enjoyed his lamb chops. My branzino was yummy. Very nice selection of California wines, which was the main reason I chose this restaurant to celebrate Father's Day."

  • "This restaurant was MUCH more expensive than indicated on Open Table. The food was fine, prices were high. Good Happy Hour scene. LOTS of people at the bar during this time."

  • "We had lunch at Napa Valley Grille and had a wonderful time. We both had a Forever Young drink (pomegranate), which was absolutely delicious!! Afterwards, we treated ourselves to the salmon entrée and it was prepared to perfection. The bread and the spread were simply divine. To top it off, the waiter really extended himself to make our duration there even more enjoyable. We will definitely enjoy dining at this venue on another occasion really soon. Would highly recommend."

  • "I came here for a business lunch on a recommendation and was not disappointed. The food was tasty, though i definitely recommend ordering a side with your main dish if you order a protein. The service was excellent and didn't interrupt more than necessary as my guest and i had conversation; this is not always the case so it was much appreciated. The sound echos a bit, but i was still able to hear easily."

  • "We had a wonderful dinner. I requested arable away from serving areas and bathrooms. We got a lovely little booth. I had the salmon and spinach side dish and my husband had the short ribs. Food was excellent."

  • "We have been going to Napa Valley Grille since it opened its doors. We have always had a great experience. We went there to celebrate Father's Day with a group of 9 people and were sorely disappointed. The restaurant was more than half empty, so they weren't busy, but it took them over an hour to bring a portion of the appetizers. They brought 2 people's salads (after an hour that we had been there) and after us having to remind them 3 times, they finally brought 2 other people's salads 20 minutes later - and that was just the appetizers. I ordered a glass of wine which I received 45 minutes later and my husband ordered a second cocktail and after 2 reminders, received it 20 minutes later. That was the theme for the evening."

  • "I've been going to NVG for years, but lately, I have noticed a distinct trend: the prices are higher, the wine pour is smaller, and the portions are also smaller. On my last visit, I had a decently prepared halibut dish (for $37) that was maybe -- maybe -- 3 ounces of fish, an equally tiny amount of parsnip puree, and a few other minuscule items. I'm not a big fan of large portions, and in fact I go out of my way to avoid them, but when a fully-priced entree is no larger than what used to be an appetizer, customers (or at least this customer) are likely to take notice."

  • "With UCLA graduations pouring families into Westwood for dinner, we were pleased to easily get reservations through Open Table and have a nice table in the main dining room. The filet mignon was perfectly prepared, excellent Bordelaise, while my friend raved about the halibut. Wouldn't recommend the sangria but the wine list has a satisfying range and quality."

  • "We were a grouip of 3 for a business dinner. When I made my reservation thru Open Table, I asked for and received a quiet table in the corner. Server was great."
    Dined on 6/10/2014
  • "The food is very good, from appetizers through dessert. The restaurant is very well organized into a bar area separated from the dining areas, and the dining areas divided into booths, indoor tables and outdoor tables. The noise from the outdoor tables, frequented by happy hour patrons, does not intrude into the more intimate indoor area. Service is great, everyone smiles and moves with energy. Great experience."

  • "The wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. The restaurant was busy but the wait staff did not seem stressed. They gave us ample time to make a selection and answered questions about the menu making comments and suggestions that allowed my guests and I to make the right choices to our taste. The ambiance was energetic and lively and the view of the outdoors provided a good backdrop. Everything was clean, including restrooms. "

  • "The ambieance was great and so was the service. The dinner salads were undistinguish and over-priced as was the dessert. I had a pear served on a tough piece of pastry with some undistinguished ice cream. "

  • "We took some out of state friends to Sunday brunch, the experience was a total embarrassment. We were seated next to Large group of people having a party in the main dining room, as all the Party rooms were taken, it was noisy with miked speeches and presentations .Service was appalling, seems they have new staff, It took 45 mins to even be asked what we wanted to drink, and 1 hour and 15 mins to have our order taken. We had to get up and go see the manager to see why our orders had not arrived. Eventually when our brunch arrived it was cold and had to be sent back. The fries arrived back soggy, under cooked and everyone's meal was over salted. Then it took another half hour to get a waiter to bring the bill after multiple requests. "
