  • "On a Saturday night, two of us had eaten here before, two had not. Our server treated our new guests with a cheese/charcouterie plate. Very classy. Our meals were all excellent. The flounder, duck, and fusilli mains were perfect. The frutti de mar (not mare?) was extremely flavorful, but the orchiette were stuck together and, as a result, slightly undercooked (but still very good!). A great option is the carafe/half-carafe options for excellent wine made possible by the restaurants wine cask storage system. All in all a very pleasant and enjoyable evening."

  • "We went to Napa for the first time for an anniversary brunch,and really enjoyed it. My wife got the chicken fettuccine and declared it the best pasta she had ever eaten. I got the slow roasted pork sandwich. It was delicious, although I prefer a vinegar based sauce. The only negative was the noise level. We were seated next to the open kitchen and the noise level was higher than we would have liked. The service was perfect."

  • "I'd recommend Napa on Providence for a special occasion or just a night out with friends. In fact the last two times I've been here have been just those events. The staff is attentive and it's a comfortable place. Nice wine selections and the charcuterie choices offered something for everyone. The scallops were perfectly prepared as was the swordfish and risotto. The only thing I would change would be to leave the homemade sausage out of the linguine with clams. The sausage was very mild and well made, but it just didn't work for me."

  • "This was my second visit and while the food and beverages were excellent, the service was poor and it was too warm in the restaurant (we were sweating during our dinner). My first experience was quite different. The server was very personable and efficient. I think maybe they were short staffed this time around. Hopefully this will not be an issue in the future. The ambiance and quality of food is very good!"

  • "I wasn't expecting much from this restaurant. We chose it on a whim based to its proximity to Uptown Charlotte. However, the food was great, the service was great; and we just had an overall good time!"

  • "Even seated as far from the bar as possible on a Saturday evening, the noise made conversation almost impossible. You may call it energetic. I call it exhausting. I felt that the food was a poor value. We both ordered the Salmon Caesar Salad. It consisted of a large bowl of fresh Romaine lettuce topped by a small piece of overcooked salmon. The dessert of blueberries and ice cream was OK but not exceptional. The server was friendly and attentive. I really miss the Providence Cafe which was formerly at this location."

This is my third time to this restaurant and I will visit this restaurant again. I went to this restaurant for dinner this time. In previous visits I went for brunch and the food was just as good. We had the Pistachip panacotta for desert is was very good. My first time eating anything Pistachio."

  • "This was our first time here and we were very impressed. Couldn't pick a favorite dish between the Duck, Pork Chop, Mahi-Mahi and dinner feature NC Striped Bass. All were prepared perfectly, cooked correctly and the sauces paired well. Service was timely and knowledgeable. Daniel did an excellent job. Napa on Providence has a great atmosphere as well. Couple a nice wine list with well-executed food and this place has all the trappings of a fantastic restaurant. We'll definitely be back!"

  • "I'm a foodie from Atlanta, so it is hard to impress me, to be honest. This place nailed it. Fantastic food, from appetizers and the free chef's cheese plate brought out shortly upon arrival, to the entrees and desserts. They boast a fabulous wine list and the ambiance is excellent for small groups. We were truly impressed and would recommend this to anyone!"

  • "We haven't been to Napa since right after it open. Wow, were we impressed. Great wine list! Terrific ambience. Delicious food. We sat at the prep bar, for lack of a better description, and watch as two chefs worked tirelessly to prepare salads, pizzas, charcuterie boards and desserts -- all dishes looked fabulous. As busy as they were, they were friendly and engaging. Did I mention the wine list? Even my diehard fun & coke husband opted for a glass of Burly. We've been searching for a new "go-to" place -- we've found it!"

  • "My wife and I had an excellent experience at Napa. The charcuterie plate was very tasty and generous. My wife's duck and risotto dish was perfectly prepared. The duck was some of the best we've had in Charlotte and was again generous, unlike the 4 or 5 thin slices some restaurants provide. I had a short rib/hanger steak special. The short rib was fine, but the hanger steak was very well prepared on the grill and very flavorsome. The accompanying haricot verts were nicely flavored with garlic. The mashed potatoes with bacon were outstanding. Additionally, our server was likewise excellent taking time to assist with wine selection and in general providing very personable service without being overbearing or cloying. Highly recommend."

  • "This was our first time to Napa on Providence, overall a very good experience. Calamari appetizer was very good and just the right size for the 2 of us. My wife had the duck; she loved it and cleaned the plate. I had the pork chop, one of the best I have had. We didn't need it but ordered the cream brulee, a nice little treat at the end. If I had one criticism it would most of the wines by the glass are not from Napa which I found odd given the name, that said still plenty of fine choices. We will be back."

  • "Our first time to Napa on Providence and we really like the food. I had the strip steak special and my wife had the mahi mahi. Both dishes were delicious. We also had the grilled oysters appetizer and the stuffed meatballs. Again, both apps were delicious. The vibe in the restaurant was lively, do in part to the live music. The only downer was the meal was a little on the pricey side, with apps $11 and $12 each and the main courses were a little over $30 each. The price for the apps should have been in the $6-$8 range and the mains should have been closer to $25 each. Import beer was $7 which is also a little steep. Overall we did have a great experience and will go back."

  • "Great service. Delicious food, nicely presented. It was our first visit to Napa on Providence but we really enjoyed the evening and will go again. We received a gift card to the restaurant at Christmas 2013. My sister from Maryland did a search and purchased the card online. I'm glad she found this place. We drive on Providence Road all the time and see the sign - just never thought to go there (it's kind of hidden on the side street). We plan to take friends and family there in the future."

My visit start on a great note by only waiting a brief moment to be seated at our booth and ended on a fantastic note by enjoying the most decedent flourless chocolate lava cake. Everything in between was delicious and delightful. If you are able to make it there for Sunday brunch, please order a banana foster waffle! OH...MY...GOD! Eric, our waiter, was sweet, engaging, and has a passion for the restaurant and food. All in all, Napa is a diamond of a find for and I will definitely be back!"

  • "We went for Valentine's Day and it was awesome! They had a special Valentine's Day menu so we tried two of the apps, main courses, and deserts. All were delicious. Their service really made the entire night very special for us. Also, we took a look at the tradition menu and we will be coming back for some more food and wine! Napa on Providence made us feel special and made it a night we won't forget."

  • "It was nice of the GM to come to our table & offer a small plate as this was our first visit. The kale salad was delicious & a nice size. They didn't have the wine we wanted, yet it was offered on the menu. The size of the fish dinners were a joke, however, very tasty & the plates looked beautiful. Our waiter made a few mistakes & didn't seem to remember what we had told him. Also, the restaurant was very noisy & we had an end booth with no one on one side of us."

  • "This was the second time I had visited this restaurant. The first time I went was on a weekend and the food was fabulous!! The next time I went was on a Wednesday night and our entrees were just ok. Fries were soggy and brussel sprouts were overdone. However, my steak was cooked perfectly. I will likely go back, but expect a "weekend" level of effort from the kitchen or I will not come back or refer this restaurants to friends."

  • "Menu has a good selection to fit everyone's taste. I had scallops, my colleague the salmon. Started with the calamari. All dishes were good, but the chefs need to lighten up on the salt and sauces. I like to know what kind of meat/fish is under all that decoration, and this is where Napa fails. Their sauces are nice but too much of them consistently overpowered everything I tasted. My scallops were very good, but the compote they sat on completely hid their flavor. The sauce on the calamari was the same. Bummer because there was a lot of potential in both. I did not taste the salmon but when my colleague described it as "fine" I knew it wasn't knocking his socks off."

  • "I took my mother there for a birthday dinner on a wednesday evening. The food was consistent with my last experience there...delicious and creative. The service was excellent. My only complaint is that the live music in the bar was so loud that it was hard to hold a conversation without struggling to hear one another. I might expect this on a weekend night, but didn't expect it on a Wednesday, and would have had a better experience without it."
