Diner Reviews
  • "This time we chose to dine off the brunch menu. I had duck confit eggs benedict w/o caramelized onions & a mimosa. He had Napa eggs benedict. Both had fruit & roasted potatoes OMG...it was crazy good. No one shared & were to full to try desert. But that didn't stop me. I asked about the Olive Oil cake to go. I know it sounds horrible. But really it is a lemon pound cake with a lemon cream cheese frosting. I was able to eat it 4 hours later when I got home. It was light fresh and creamy. No wonder this desert sold out the last time I was there. It's a must try with a fresh cappuccino. All these years I've never tried brunch since I'm not really a breakfast person. But this was worth the try! DELISH!"

  • "My husband and I tried Napa's for the first time on Saturday. As I explained to our waiter, our overall satisfaction came 50% from the food and wine, and 50% from the waiter, Chris. He made our experience really amazing. He was happy to discuss each of the wines with us and helped me select just the right glass of red for the night. I had the beet salad on arugla, and this was fantastic. Then we had the monk fish special and the corvina. Both dishes were out of this world, and Chris did an excellent job of describing exactly what flavors and tastes we should expect before the dishes were served. We were on the shaded patio and there was live music which added to the ambience. We will go back!!"

  • "This was my third visit to Napa on Providence, and they were fantastic. It was a "special" evening, and Napa made sure everything worked! The patio seating is romantic, the service excellent, and the food is superb. The wines are exclusively Napa and are excellent...a nice touch to a nice evening! I'll definitely be back."

  • "My family was in town and we wanted to take them some place nice for their last night in town. Great atmosphere and our server Eric was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and was able to modify the dinner special to fit my mom's tastes! She raved about her meal, the cocktail (that was also made special for her) and the service! Definitely will be going back."

  • "Napa on Providence was recommended to be by a friend and it definitely lived up to her rave reviews. I can't wait for an excuse to go back."

  • "It was another great day dining at Napa. This time I actually chose a Charcuterie tray & mussels. 2 cheeses, 1 meat toasted bread & homemade granola with honey. Ooo...it was great. Perfect amount not to filling. It was a great little excursion to Napa. I highly recommend it!"

  • "Had never been before, but went for after work w/co-workers a couple of days before this. Short Rib Pizza was amazing. Stuffed Meatballs really good. Good wines by the glass selections. Excellent patio even on a rainy day. Went back for dinner one evening. Inside was super noisy. Glad they could seat us on the patio. Food for dinner was 'meh', unmemorable. Would probably do apps again instead. Service was excellent both times."

  • "Have been here twice, and the food was average both times. For lunch I had the buttermilk chicken over a salad - chicken was not very good and salad was low on other ingredients. For dinner the previous time, I had the salmon which was pretty good but small portions for the price. The atmosphere/ambience is very nice and comfortable; however, the food is just ok at best. We live in the neighborhood and probably won't return."

  • "We went for brunch, and the restaurant was fairly empty until about 12 when the state allows you to sell alcohol. It started filling up as we were leaving. The chicken and waffles were spot on, as were the meatballs and croque madame. Great for groups and a really nice bar. We really enjoyed Napa!"

  • "We enjoy waitstaff that goes beyond the normal welcome, here are the specials, thank you yadda yadda. Catrina was engaging, and 'fun'. She could teach a course on how to treat guests. A few laughs, great service, good wine, and a fine meal made this visit especially enjoyable. Every visit to Napa has been good but our most recent was great."

  • "Napa has really come a long way since it opened. Service was always good, last night was no exception, but the food has come a long way!! Great salmon dish."

  • "I was online and noticed a really delish posting of a special for the evening. Stuffed prawns. OMG, it was beautiful presented on the plate, but also a delight to consume. I always enjoy their specials, but this time I had a preview to motivate me to come in for dinner. As always the service was great."

  • "Wow, what a great restaurant! Food and service were excellent, especially the seafood. Napa is my new go to place. Great spot for lunch, dinner and any special occasion. Can't wait to go back. They have an awesome patio too."

  • "We had a lovely dinner on the patio and the dish I had was fantastic. Pan-seared corvina with panzanella. Best dish of the night."

  • "Very personal and relaxed atmosphere. Both the food and the wine was very good. We enjoyed a nice dinner without our boys, but this is definitely a restaurant where you can also bring children. It's good that the restaurant is divided into different rooms, so the noise level isn't too loud. This restaurant we definitely would like to visit again."

  • "Our waitress did a great job of serving me and my wife. My wife really enjoyed her tenderloin dinner, and my salmon salad was very good."

  • "Great food and service will be visiting again! Wonderful place to eat!"

  • "We ordered from the restaurant week menu. In addition to that we were given a VIP Charcuterie tray. We've only had dinner & desert here so that was a nice intro to a lighter option. Everything as usual was delish! We will most certainly keep the cheese and/or charcuterie tray as an option in the future. I can't recall all that was on the tray, but it was a great experience."

  • "We arrived early for our reservation so we sat at the bar and had a drink. Napa serves wine on tap plus they have 2 WineStation's, in addition to rum, vodka and tequila infusions (which they do themselves). The bar staff was very friendly. When it was time to be seated our server didn't rush us (even though it was restaurant week) and we enjoyed a wonderful three course meal. The outside patio looked equally wonderful and we might partake in that experience when we return."

  • "Napa is the kind of restaurant where you can never have a bad meal, whether dining formally or having bar food, inside or out. The service is excellent and the vibe is energetic. It's casual yet chic, so really anything goes with what you can wear. I love this place."

  • "We dined for Charlotte Restaurant Week. Each of us first timers. Food was pleasing. Portions were smaller. Not sure if that is because of special menu for restaurant week. A lot of Italian influences offered"

  • "I am sorry to say, I will not go back because the noise level was so high. We were a party of four and I couldn't hear the person next to me speak. Otherwise, I like the restaurant. The food was good and the service was good but the noise was too hard to overcome. It was a Wednesday night during Queen's Restaurant Week so it could have increased the noise level some but we have gone to many restaurants during past Restaurant Week and have never experience that level of noise."

  • "Our service was very good. The restaurant was so loud that having a conversation was pretty much impossible. Appetizer of mussels was okay but lacked flavor. I like more of a broth. Fish was excellent but didn't enjoy the fact it was sitting on croutons which were just soggy. Companion had chicken pasta which they enjoyed and a salad for their appetizer. We were there for restaurant week. Overall enjoyed the evening."

  • "We met our friends at Napa to enjoy dinner and celebrate my wife's birthday. The food and overall experience was very good. I was a bit disappointed that they did not acknowledge that it was my wife's birthday even though I sent prior notice and notes to that effect."

  • "My husband and I went to Napa this past Friday night. It was restaurant week, so it was understandably busy. However, while I know the restaurant was busy, the service was inexcusably poor. Once seated at our table, our waiter did not come and talk to us for over 40 minutes. We had gotten drinks at the bar (because we had to wait for our table even though we had made a reservation), so perhaps he thought he did not need to come get our drink order. However, 40 minutes is excessively rude. Had it not been restaurant week, we probably would have (and looking back now should have) just gotten up and left. It continued to be poor, but I'm running out of character space. A very poor experience and I would not recommend to anyone I know."

  • "Everything was terrific, and we are very picky when going out to restaurants. Service and food were fantastic and very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity served."

  • "We shared the sausage and peppernota pizza and mussels. Desert was peaches & cream with a cappuccino. Everything was absolutely excellent. Service outstanding. I am asked...why do I like to eat here so often. My answer. When I come here, there is always a new desert. A new entree special. It's not a place I continuously get the same thing. I enjoy the service. I love the food. And the place is always fresh & clean. So i ask...why not eat here often?"

  • "Very trendy, great ambiance, great service... food was 'fair', at best; wine was very tasty and the waitress was kind enough to bring me THREE decently sized samples because I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted. I ordered the smoked salmon cobb salad, but got grilled salmon instead. The piece of salmon was quite small and incredibly under-seasoned. For a $15 salad, I expected great things! The overall taste of the salad as a whole was 'meh'... my glass of wine (my choice, of course) was $15. So, for $30 for dinner, I expected to leave greatly satisfied and looking forward to returning- can't say either thing happened! That's not to say that other menu items aren't delicious (many things sounded great!) Likely won't be returning, however."

  • "Recently, I decided to try Napa 2 times since the time around the opening. Both meals and service were excellent .The menu is much improved and many dished have been added. It now has something for everybody. At dinner with friends, the waiter went the extra mile for my friends birthday and brought us a free dessert and a card signed by all the waiters in the restaurant ! A nice touch. We ordered the calamari, scallops& risotto, corvina and the lamb chop special. Each one was excellent. We all remarked how much we enjoyed our evening and would be coming back on a more regular basis !"
