  • An AMAZING night

Let me start by saying that I was so impressed with my first experience, that I booked a table for the meal I'm about to describe... When I made my reservation online, I noted that I was coming back with some VIP clients of my partner and that I wanted the table in front of the fireplace and also noted that we would probably be there for a good while (which is why our reservation was for 6:00). At about 5:00 I received a call from Betsy, the hostess confirming my reservation and letting me know that we could indeed have the table by the fireplace and asking if there were any other special instructions for the table. I was impressed. When we got to the restaurant, and were all seated, we were greeted by not one, but two servers, Stephen and Alicia. The two of them made this meal an effortless experience. Almost the minute after we sat down, we were presented with a charcuterie board with at least 8 selections on it. This was followed by a tiny little tuna tartare amusee. Then came the gluten free beef carpaccio and the meatballs which were both incredible. With these two courses we had a bottle of Flora Springs Soliloquy Savignon Blanc and a bottle of Belle Glos Clark and Telephone. Both were perfection. Then came the entrees. I had the pork chop which was spectacular. My partner had the NY Strip special which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was presented beautifully. Our guests had the Tenderloin which looked scrumptious, and the duck duo with wild mushroom risotto. They were blown away. This course was paired with a bottle of the Keenan Reserve. After dinner, we were full, but not so much so that we couldn't consider dessert. Stephen and Alicia picked a contrasting duo of desserts: the flourless nutella cake and a salty vanilla bean cheesecake (not a regular menu item). This was paired with a bottle of Justin Isosceles, a flawless bottle that was selected and decanted for us by Bradley. Our VIPs were impressed, so were we. Great job Stephen & Alicia

  • The perfect trifecta

Upon arriving, we were greeted by a smiling hostess and shown to a booth large and comfortable enough to accommodate 6 good sized men. Our server Brennan asked if we had dined in the restaurant before. Some of us had and some of us had not so she briefly explained the menu, the wine list and gave us the features for the day. I told her to pick out 3 of her favorite appetizers and was pleasantly surprised when a charcuterie board with 3 meats and 3 cheeses, home made artisan granola and criostini arrived at the table. The selections were all superb. This was followed by an enormous plate of mussels and the house made ricotta cheese that was served with a cranberry preserve and freshly baked bread flats. We all had different entrees. I had the Beef Duo which is short ribs, hanger steak cooked to a perfect medium rare and an assortment of seasonal vegetables in a dark savory sauce. My partner had the scallops served over the beet risotto. The scallops were enormous and delicious. We had 2 great bottles of wine, both presented to and poured for us by the beverage director, Bradley. We were obviously too full for dessert, although I did think about taking a piece of bread pudding home with me. All in all it was an excellent experience. I highly recommend Napa on Providence to anyone who appreciates the perfect trifecta of restaurant experiences: exceptional food and wine, attentive and friendly service, and not having to finance your house to get it.

Excellent food and service for their brunch/lunch service. Enjoyed their bottomless mimosas and the fabulous short rib eggs benedict and steak sandwich. Honestly, the only complaint would reside with the size of the sandwich. Personally, I was unable to get the sandwich in my mouth, haha. A little too overstuffed. I would have preferred the same generous portion in 2 small sandwiches or a wide starch choice to "slim" the sandwich down. To be clear, this was a minor issue though, and we'll return soon.

We had dinner on a Saturday night at Napa and the energy there is outstanding. Both managers, Bradley and Cynthia, were very attentive and friendly to us nad all the guests around us. We had our dinner at the bar where the bartenders, Leslie, John , and Dan took very good care of us . Along with every other server that helped bring our food to us. Great place to go for great food and good wine selections.

The menu has changed a bit for the season. They brought out some fresh baked biscuits. Those were actually pretty tasty. I had the short rib benedict with a mimosa. Only complaint to my error -I should have requested no onions. I picked thru it. It was otherwise a great meal. My other half got the special -pasta, grilled chicken with wilted spinach. He really enjoyed it. We were both to full to have desert. I have to remember, no onions next time!

Food was delicious. We had the house made ricotta for an appetizer and it was so good. Our entrée s were both cooked to perfection and very, very tasty. The wine selection is huge and they will even help you make your choice. Our waitress was on spot. Ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for an anniversary dinner. There is a cute little patio for outside dining when the weather is right. I can't believe I have lived here 7 years and this was our first time at Napa. We will be back again.

I was impressed with Napa on Providence and the service was excellent. The food at Napa was lovely. But the noise level was so overwhelming that we couldn't converse, got increasingly uncomfortable and left as soon as our entrees were done, going elsewhere for desert and coffee. This, after we had asked for a quiet booth! The open kitchen noise is unnecessarily overwhelming. There's a difference between "energy" and just loud noises, and Napa serves a terrible cacophony with their dinners.

This is not in our usual geographic area, but what a great find. We went for an anniversary weekend dinner and we were very impressed. Great atmosphere on a beautiful fall evening. Terrific, knowledgeable waiter and service. Each item we had was great. We had the mussels, Arancinis, oysters and Gnocchi small plates were all very good. And a long with amazing bread, a charcuterie sampler that they gave us for being first timers, the four small plates shared was ample. We shared a terrific Baklava from the new dessert chef that was a perfect ending. Great wine choice as well. All in all, we will make this a regular stop in our dinner rotation

My husband and I were looking for a good restaurant with a slightly casual atmosphere to celebrate our anniversary and Napa fit the bill. They just overhauled their menu (which was very good to begin with) with some new items. I had the new flounder dish with brocollini and golden raisins; it was great. Fish was light but meaty. My husband had the salmon cobb salad which was also great. A true "dinner sized" portion. Though the olive oil cake really caught my eye, we opted to skip desert this time around. There service and food quality is consistent which makes this a great pick!

We really have enjoyed dining at Napa. However, they don't know how to pour a glass of wine. For $8 I got a half glass, which looked more like 2 ounces. All I can say is .... visit Bricktops and see how they generously pour a glass of wine. When a restaurant is cheap with their wine, I am much less inclined to visit again. So maybe Napa needs to up their food prices and learn how to pour a glass of vino!

Me-Charcuterie tray with Olive oil cake for desert. He-Pork Belly with chutney & watermelon with raspberry tiramisu. Our small entrée choices were perfect. But the deserts were not as perfect as we have had in the past. My olive oil cake seemed a bit stiff -maybe it had been prepared (already iced &refrigerated). The tiramisu different. I can't exactly say what it was, just different. So I can't say outstanding, just good. The service was superb.

The Pinot Gris wine was really nice along with the cheese board-rustico red pepper was outstanding. Napa On Providence has marvelous service. The food is very good but 2 of our friends had to have their meals exchanged because their platters were barely warm. Portions are good not large but enough to satisfy. The quality is very good. The manager could not have been any nicer. She brought complimentary delicious desserts to compensate for our inconvenience and apologized for our issues. The noise level is abysmal. Our party of 6 could barely hear each other. Baffling or carpeting, window treatments or whatever it takes to get the noise level to a reasonable level. Our server,Becky, was fantastic!

The fig and prosciutto pizza with arugula was delicious and was paired with the perfect wine thanks to the help of our server. I definitely look forward to going back again. Not always easy to find good food in Charlotte, especially Mediterranean food, but this place is a win.

An impatient (I call him Alton) had us baffled through the night. He had a short attention span and looked impatient and stern while taking orders. Questions like "what is your favorite dish" where answered with "you need to narrow down more than that, it's a big menu". A bit of a grumpy attitude. However, he brought wine samples and free appetizers for being our first time at Napa. Food was poorly executed. Bone-in pork-chop was severely overcooked (I almost burned my tongue biting into it and was supposed to come 'medium'). A dish which contained sliced meat was overly raw and chewy. Was like putting a bunch of rubber bands in your mouth. Overall great looking dishes but ruined by the kitchen.

This is the third time I've eaten here since their opening a year ago. The food is fine, the service stinks - every single time.
