NAOEImpeccable ServiceFood was delicious and unique. Service was impeccable. Great place for foodies and/or those Looking for a unique dining experience. Very traditional Japanese cuisine. One of my favorites!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Sushi in MiamiWords cannot express how enjoyable the experience my wife and I had at NAOE. From start to finish the staff was extremely friendly and made us feel right at home. The restaurant is extremely cosy. While they only seat 8 for each dinner service they restaurant could hold more, but the limited amount of people keeps the service spectacular and intimate. The food was amazing, each piece was hand crafted with care by the chef. Keep an open mind with what you are served and you will surely enjoy yourself. I can't say enough about this restaurant. Next time we are in the Miami area we will be sure to visit here again.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe God of SushiI just went for my birthday and asked to have a great seat. They put me right infront of where the doctor was going to work on fish and shellfish that i've never seen nor heard about in my 11 years of restaurant expreience. His family soy sauce and house scraped wasabi put and twist on ever bite his bento box should be in the sushi encyclopedia for the greatest of all time. Though exotic any palette would be enticed enough to try everything overall a 10 out of 105/9/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden gemNAOE is hard to find. No signage, illegible street number, and when you actually find and look through the door, the only evidence that there might be a restaurant inside is the presence of a small podium and a receptionist. One could easily conclude he/she is in the wrong place. That is when the receptionist looks up, smiles, welcomes you, almost congratulating you for finding the place, and guides you around a wing wall into a tiny, unpretentious restaurant. That's when the fun begins. There is room for about eight diners, mostly at a bar over which diners can watch the artistry of food preparation. There is no menu, as the meal dependends on what the chef finds that day. Delicious food, ultra-fresh; perfect service; culinary artistry.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm sad that it was disapointingFirst of all I want to say ,NAOE is my favourite restaurant in Miami, so it's difficult to write a bad review. Personally I think the bento box it's the most exiting part of the whole experience, we all know their nigiris are amazing but that's a given for me. This time the bento box seemed , unworked, like left overs put together nicely. The squash soup they always serve was watery and did not have the depth of flavour it normally does. We all know consitency is probably the most difficult think for restaurants to achieve but the problem with NAOE is that you built your excitement after getting the reservation (super difficult) for that super special experience and don't expect this kind of mistakes. Of course we'll give it another chance5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNOAE... a total escapeNAOE is a a total escape from the crazy city life. One would never think that such a place or restaurant even exists in this town. NAOE is the closest thing to going to Japan without actually going. Prepare yourself for a pallet of flavors that even the most experienced will have a hard time trying to register them and associate them with anything they have had before. We were lucky enough to have the beautiful and extremely knowable Wendy as our server. Paired up her service and Kevin Cory's insane adventure of flavor made for one of the best culinary experiences of my life.
Clear your calendar, make a reservation, turn off your phone, and enjoy the bliss of NAOE...4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBento box didn't do it forBento box didn't do it for me, but the sushi was outstanding!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNaoe offers a traditionalNaoe offers a traditional Japanese sushi experience like I had only previously read about. the cuisine is somewhat advanced in probably would not be enjoyed by the beginning sushi eater or non-adventurous eater. That being said, if you enjoy sushi, food and trying new things this is THE place. Sushi preparation and service of a very high caliber. Chef Kevin, Wendy, Benz and the rest of the small staff were as amazing as the quality of the food that was presented. There is a small beer list and sakes for purchase by the bottle from Chef Kevin's family brewery in Japan. I was also very excited to discover a variety of quality Japanese loose leaf teas were available as well. Order the extra available courses and enjoy!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAte things I probably neverAte things I probably never would have but never would have missed it had I not. Went home and made a turkey and cheese sandwich.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA Sublime ExperienceNaoe is for people who not only love fine Japanese cuisine, but equally important, who also appreciate a rarified and personal dining experience. Eating at Naoe is an exercise in mindfulness. The place is a gem (simple, stark, quiet, and focused), chef Kevin Cory is a gem, and his staff are gems. This is omakase at its finest -- and I'm speaking as a Japanophile who loves fine Japanese cuisine in New York City. Miami is lucky!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMHeavenlyThe day after the unforgettable omakase meal Kevin Cory prepared for us, i was still feeling as if walking on clouds, and it took me a while to come back to earth in order to put other food in my mouth.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper expensive but an amazingSuper expensive but an amazing experience! If you think a califonia roll is sushi, don't go here. It's real Japanese, expect to try new, weird and fantastic things. Best eating 'experience' ever. The staff are lovely and very informative.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant service paired withElegant service paired with exceptional Japanese food as a dining experience like no other in Miami4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAdd to Foodie Bucket ListNaoe should be on every foodie's bucket list! Where is the Michelin star is the question.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBest service I have ever receivedBest service I have ever received in a restaurant. You must like Japanese food I.e. sushi/sashimi to go there as it is very expensive and you have no other options. Also you must drink sake, as there is no wine list. It was my first try at sake3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was wonderful. We wereIt was wonderful. We were seated immediately and waited on by a very capable staff. The food was prepared before our eyes and everything was outstandingly fresh. I can't wait to go back.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing experienceWe took a taxi from SoBe to Brickell Key and had pre-dinner drinks at Mandarin Oriental. After drinks we walked to Naoe which was quite hard to find but I won't give any hints how to find the restaurant, we all have to find our own path :-). Ambience was magical and service perfect. Food was prepared with utmost attention to detail offering once in a lifetime experience to remember. I don't want to reveal too much, you have to visit Naoe yourself. Visit to Naoe is an absolute highlight of my foodie career!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMMost peaceful dining experienceMost peaceful dining experience I've had. Very expensive but worth every dime! Must be adventurous and openminded about what you eat! The service was calming and quiet! Watching the chef prepare the sushi was beautiful. The staff is amazing and attentive beyond belief. The restaurant only seats 8 and they have two servings per night, so it is hard to get a reservation but well worth it once you do.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMExcelent is no enough to describeExcelent is no enough to describe the overall experience, each plate godly crafted, excelent service!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMContinues ot be best spotContinues ot be best spot not only in toen but in US
Great work by Chef Cory and his team.We will be going back many timnes every time we visit Miami3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing experienceThe service was amazing, and the food was truly a very interesting, innovative and exciting experience. Greate Sake selection as well. I recommend it 100%3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSo ...here we go ..I was reallySo ...here we go ..I was really looking forward to Naoe Sushi .I've tried sushi all over the world and was hoping this would be the great local find .First of all ,the ambience ,service ,decor are all perfect .Here is my problem with the restaurant .For the price you pay ,it just isn't a memorable experience ,except for what you end up paying .Presentation is overdone and too slow .They start you off w a bento box which is more of a filler than a great beginning .They should begin w an amazing sashimi appetizer like Sushi Nozawa did in L.A. .After that ,the sushi should start but ,due to the slow speed of the chef ,he should serve 2 at a time .The fish and sushi are excellent but 8 pieces of sushi does not leave a lasting impression .3/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
