Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed our meals though service had a couple of soft spots - wrong order placed so one entree came out late. We ate in the bar area and overall enjoyed our experience."

  • "It has been awhile since we have eaten at Nani's. Shockingly salty, heavily-sauced food, and long waits [30 minutes past reservation time to be seated and another 15 minutes to get glasses of wine] make it unlikely we will eat there again. The seriously understaffed wait staff were pleasant and doing their best but completely overwhelmed. The food, especially the pasta could definitely use a lighter and healthier touch. Had that been the case, the waiting would have been worth it. It is a nice space, family friendly and a great location with easy parking. Too bad the food and service don't measure up."

  • "Went on a Thurs. evening with reservations. With a couple of two-seated tables available, we waited 2o minutes to be seated. At one time, there was NO food on any tables with the diners all looking at each other. The bartender forgot to pour me an another beer as I left the bar to be seated. Another 20 minutes passed before I saw that glass. When the server appeared with the beer, he took my water glass. As it turned out, the owner was seated at an adjacent table and kept going into the kitchen to get the food for her table. Someone at this establishment should start watching any of the Restaurant shows on cable that alerts one on how to run a successful food service. The water server was the only person working, it seemed."

  • "We have been to Nanis many time but this time the service , food and music was not in character. The food was not up to par we could have made it at home, the service was terrible which was odd because the resturant was not busy, we ordered wine and the they were out of three different wines we ask for and last but not least the music was not a good fit, they were playing techno music. All in all the evening was a bust!"

  • "Italian style, a bit idiosyncratic. A total delight in a super-touristy town. Excellent wine list. Comfortable and serene atmosphere."
    Dined on 6/29/2014
  • "We stumbled onto Nani's our last night in Jackson and we were absolutely delighted. The food was excellent, our waitress was stellar and the hostess was very patient with seating our fairly large party. Nothing not to like!"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "My wife and I shared a eggplant parm appetizer and it was one of the best we ever had. For a main dish I had the chicken parm. It was mad from a nice size piece of chicken and the tomato sauce was excellent. The servers were pleasant and didn't miss a thing!"

  • "As a personal chef I was shocked at the amount of salt that was in every dish we ordered. I could not finish my main course and before I returned to the hotel, my fingers were swollen and I was dying of thirst. Don't cover up a nice dish with SALT!!"

  • "this place was very nice, I had the lasagne and it wasn't anything special but they had a few other things on the menu that looked really good. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and really liked it. It was a bit more pricey than we expected but I would still recommend it. Also good service and ambience."
    Dined on 5/29/2014
  • "Food was delicious and service was excellent; however, arriving on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm, first thing we heard is that there was only 1 minestrone soup left. One other entree was also out, and then came dessert, 3 of the 4 dinner guests selected chocolate mousse and server came back to tell us they were out of choc mousse. Hard to believe ran out of number of items in an early Sunday evening."
    Dined on 5/25/2014
  • "We had a lovely meal at Nani's. We also loved the little corner table at which we were seated. The starter of shrimp with olives and tomatoes was very flavorful, followed by a wonderful salad with a unique combination of spinach, brussel sprouts and nuts. I loved the house made sausage which I combined with the mellanzane and my husband had the lamb which was sensational."

  • "This restaurant is tucked away from the main hustle and bustle of town square. The pasta selections are the main attraction here, but the entrees are great too. It can be a bit pricey for pasta, but for a nice evening out, it is worth it. It is always quiet and the service has gotten better over the years to where it is pretty dependable. Nice place."

  • "Nani's is relatively small. We went in the spring, so it was not crowded. The menu features a variety of homemade pasta dishes, fresh vegetables, meats and fish. We went twice because we liked the food so much. Some dishes we tried were the fig pasta, gnocchi, egg rag soup, beet salad and fish special. Staff is very accommodating. There was a large family dining during our second visit and they were easily served along with the rest of us. If you like Italian, try this place."
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "Our experience was mediocre at best. We were greeted by the owner who was not overly enthusiastic. At dinner the waiter was a bit abrupt and made us feel like our questions were dumb and or ridiculous. He basically wasn't interested in us, our dining interests. Not a place I would spend $75 on three dinners (no appetizers, no drinks or no dessert) again."

  • "We decided to leave Teton Village ski area and come into Jackson again for dinner. One of our group had eaten at Nani's before and had had a really nice time. So did we. The food was well prepared and the plates looked beautiful. The wine list is quite respectable. The interior of the restaurant very attractive. The service was absolutely wonderful. The prices are quite reasonable. Don't waste your time eating at Teton Village...better food at a better price in town. AND the bus to get there is only $3, $1.50 if you are a senior. We should have done it every night."

  • "Probably the best Italian in Jackson. Menu is constantly changing and food is regional Italian in nature with natural ingredients. Wine list is excellent. Meals tend to be pricy for those used to chain restaurant Italian food. However, there are always some moderately priced alternatives. I have eaten here for over 20 years and am generally very satisfied. Newly remodeled which has improved the atmosphere."

  • "I'm not sure I've ever seen a restaurant serving gluten-free pasta, I think because it's so difficult to make it restaurant-good. Nani's has a whole separate gluten-free menu and accommodated my additional dairy-free needs beautifully. I started with the insalata mista, which was terrific. My entree was gluten-free pasta pomodoro, to which I asked them to add pine nuts and spinach. The kitchen initially sent out non–gluten-free spaghetti, but the server caught it just as I bit down on the first mouthful. They sent out the correct pasta as soon as they got it cooked, and it was great. My husband got a puttanesca that he really enjoyed."

  • "While Nani's is a little off the main square, it's easy to miss but shouldn't be. The food and service were outstanding! The portions were generous but left us comfortably full. The pasta is fresh and homemade (stick to regular, not whole wheat), and the sauces were fabulous. The BEST was the Fichi (fig) and second place went to the Salsicce (sausage). Pomodoro (tomato and garlic) and Gamberi (seafood) were winners as well as the Pesto (garlic/basil - though ask to dial back amount...overtook plate). This was my first trip to Nani's but not my last. It's a neighborhood gem worth visiting."

  • "Our family picked Nanis as our first dinner out in Jackson. The food was great. We all ordered varied dishes off the menu and shared around. The atmosphere was a little sterile for the restaurant setting. For the cost I felt the service could have been a bit more personable and not so rushed."

  • "Our group of four enjoyed various appetizers, meals, and desserts. We would go back again."

  • "Our family really enjoyed this place. It was loud enough that we didn't have to whisper but not so loud that it was noisy. The food was 5-star. We ordered the tomato mozzarella salad, and an anti-pasta tray to start... both great. We had the short ribs, lamb shank, lasagna, and spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. The ribs and lamb were fall off the bone tender and so delicious I wish I could have eaten more. Service was great."

  • "Order fresh pasta. It's good. Everything else is poor. Nani mistakes quantity for quality."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "We have been to NANI'S several times over the years and I must say that both my husband and I were a little disappointed this time. He ordered a dish witha cream sauce, but they didn't do the cream sauce tho it was good. I ordered the daily fish option. The fish smelled and tasted "fishy " instead of fresh. I probably should have sent it back and ordered something different. The service was fine, the ambience, etc fine. Just seems like the food quality and flavor has taken a step backward. Too bad.... Will most likely try another Italian restaurant when we go there this summer."
    Dined on 1/24/2014
  • "We just came back from Italy this summer and have been trying to find a good authentic Italian restaurant in NY. Nani's served the best pasta compared to all of the restaurants I've tried in NY. Definitely try to the Norcina and Liparota pasta. The buffalo mozzarella and brussel sprouts salads were also very fresh."

  • "Awesome food and great people - specific shout out to Chris - he was a blast. (We didn't get to ski with him the next day - somehow managed to get out on flights even when everything was cancelled)"

  • "Had a fantastic meal from beginning to end. The pasta is homemade and fresh. The tiramisu is to die for."
    Dined on 1/4/2014
  • "Good italian spot. We had a variety of italian choices - veal, fettucini, bolognese, mussels. All were excellent. Portion sizes a little small, but expected in a resort town. Wine selections limited but priced well. Overall, a good after ski meal. Need to drive, a little off the beaten path and was hard to find, but good signage when you finally find the right street."

  • "The food was GREAT! The service was great! I HIGHLY recommend Nani's. Please try the meatballs, love em!"

  • "This restaurant never ceases to amaze me. The food is authentic and adding the home made noodles to any dish only makes it that much better. Flavors are perfect - homemade cooking at it s best."
    Dined on 12/27/2013
  • "Good basic Italian food, but a little boring, not an exciting menu, I little challenging for vegetarians, every salad has speck of some sort. The foccacio is great and the Tiramasu is delicious"

  • "went to Nani's during off season expecting 2 for 1, forgot to mention it and at the end learned that it only applied to some items on the menu -- food was good but bill disappointing :("

  • "First place that my boyfriend took me to for a romantic dinner. The food was amazing, the staff was great, the ambiance was perfect and we enjoyed every bite and moment. We go back around our anniversary every year for sure but also try and get there a couple more times throughout the year to treat a friend or just relax and enjoy a great dinner. We have a limoncello in place of dessert usually as a traditional celebration ourselves but know that the desserts are just as amazing as the food. Always great food and great staff, our personal favorite waitstaff is Zeke. Love that Nani's does their own sausage now and is so flavorful. Very well done and always look forward to our next visit !"

  • "Nani's is currently running a 2 for 1 entrée deal. Good! They are AUTOMATICALLY adding a 20% service charge on the original total (party of 2). Bad! I know this is how one should calculate the tip, I have a college degree in mathematics. I resent the assumption that I cannot figure this out. They don't do this when they are not running the 2 for 1. The vast majority of restaurants will provide you with 2 bills, one a dummy for the original amount and one for the discounted total. This is why I rated this experience poor."

  • "They called it "square spaghetti" (Spaghetti alla chitarra) and it was freshly made and excellent in their pasta fichi. The eggplant parmesan was very good and the alfredo sauce outstanding. The warm, fresh flatbread and wholegrain peasant bread were delicious with their good olive oil and balsamic. It was wonderful to find many options for "gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan" diners. We are looking forward to returning to Nani's on our next visit to Jackson. Our only disappointment: their gnocchi is apparently only available in the winter and we missed it..."

  • "I live in Jackson and have been to Nani's on several occasions throughout the years. They are consistent in providing wonderful flavors, presentation and service. It had been a while since my last visit so I was hoping it would be as good as I remembered. This visit far exceeded my expectations! It was almost like the restaurant had bumped up their flavors and presentation a notch from previous visits (which were already excellent). Our server Thom was attentive, friendly and made excellent recommendations. Even the bus staff was on point making sure our waters were full and that we had lots of fresh bread (yum!). If you are looking for a nice meal in Jackson with an environment that is upscale but not stuffy, I recommend Nani's."

  • "We shared 2 appetizers; The Gorgonzola salad and the mozzarella buffalo with olives and prosciutto. The later was excellent and to be highly recommended. For main courses my wife has the fig pasta that was outstanding and I had the carbonara and it was very good. Serving sizes were on the large side. For dessert we shared a mid sized tiramisu that was enormous. The wine list is moderate while wines by the glass were quite expensive. We had a bottle of Chianti for $29. The total bill with tip came to ~$115 which is typical for a mid priced restaurant in Jackson. I recommend Nani's, it is very good but if you want an exceptional Italian dining experience then try IL Villaggio Osteria in Teton Village but expect to pay nearly twice as much."

  • "But don't order the fried risotto balls; they were dry, tasteless and overpriced. The spicy sausage penne was tasty and the portion was perfect. Our waiter was courteous and attentive."
