A word from Nando Milano Trattoria
With decades in the family restaurant business, Dario Vullo has brought his family's legacy to the United States to share the great traditions of food in Italy to Chicago with the help of his fiancé and co-owner, Amy Yetasook. Amy is a newly proclaimed Chicagoan and med student studying to become a surgeon.

Executive Chef/brother Alessio Vullo and restaurant namesake Nando (a dignified Italian dachshund) complete the restaurant family. Chef Alessio holds the Vullo family secrets, instructing the team every morning in making fresh pasta, breads, and desserts to the highest Italian standards.

We hope you will stop in and experience our cozy Italian world.

What a delightful place, wonderful food, a very neat location and nice renovated space that provides a great atmosphere. The owner gives personal attention and his pride in his establishment shines through. The food was great, and the bread was perfect. Shared meatballs for an opening and they were spectacular, the pasta dishes were excellent, mine had perfect blend of cheese, spinach and sausage, inside a delicate shell topped with a delicate tomato sauce. Would come back again next time in Chicago for sure.

My wife and I (from out-of-town) knew we were going to be on Division St. in Wicker Park just before dinner and found Nando Milano on-line. Food was uniformly excellent and creatively prepared. Service was outstanding with much appreciated attention to detail. The owner (from Milan of course) was warm and welcoming and went out of his way to attend to our needs. Highest recommendation for reasonably-priced Northern Italian food, pleasing to the palette and the eye.

I have been to many Italian restaurants in Chicago and thought I had my top picks until I came here. Adorable interior, amazing front of the house with Dario, best gnocchi and calamari I've ever had. All made for a great experience and I can't wait to come back to try more. We had a group of 8, they treated us like we were a part of the family. Excellent date night spot as well.

I would recommend this place simply because of the manager Luca who makes you feel so at home. This is a wonderful little gem with a great ambience and energy. The food was very good, the caesar salad was excellent, one of the best. If you are looking for a less expensive but delicious alternative to all the over hyped places, check this place out. I think you will return again and again.

Though this small, quaint restaurant doesn't look like much on the outside, it is a diamond in the rough. From the decor, to the service, to the plating and the food, this is one of the best italian restaurants in the city! The chef truly cares about making each dish with care and with the upmost standards and the service is so quick. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Overall we had a great experience. The service and ambiance were perfect. It's a small little italian gem and everyone who works there was extremely friendly. The food was great, not amazing but still very tastey. We had the pumpkin ravioli, pesto gnocchi and the bucatini carbonara. I wish we had been able to try more of the menu.

Going to Nando Milano is just like visiting your Nana's for dinner - you get amazing food, you are always welcome and they're always trying to get you to eat more! Dario (owner) is the man - you always feel like the only person in the restaurant. The food is delicious (house made pasta, especially gnocchi, is to die for). The ambiance is dimly lit, intimate, romantic. The patio is awesome in the summer for families. You won't be disappointed by a trip here, so do yourself the favor and make a reservation today!

I HAD THE RED SNAPPER SPECIAL AND WHILE EATING IT I FELT LIKE I WAS "IN HEAVEN"! THE FISH WAS COOKED PERFECTLY; NICE AND MOIST. THE SAUCE WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! MY HUSBAND HAD THE LAMB CHOPS. HE THOUGHT THEY WERE VERY GOOD. TWO OF THE CHOPS WERE BREADED. I HAD A TASTE OF ONE AND I THOUGHT IT WAS SLIGHTLY ON THE DRY SIDE. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. THE SERVERS EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO US AND RECOMMENDED OUR FOOD CHOICES FROM THE APPETIZER, MAIN DISH AND DESERT. WE WOULD NOT HESITATE TO EAT HERE AGAIN! THE CHEF CAME TO OUR TAKE AFTER WE ATE. THAT WAS A NICE TOUCH!

Then the food came out, it was amazing, just like we were back in Italy on our honeymoon, everything was homemade and fresh ingredients, prices were good for what you got amd quality of the food, we did not leave hungry. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Just make sure you make a reservation, its a popular spot.

Great spot, on the pricier side. That said the food was delicious and the service was impeccible. My only minor complaint is that it's pretty small. The tables are right next to each other. Would be an excellent choice for a special occasion or to bring out of town guests.

We were a party of 4. Only 1 person enjoyed their meal. My wife ordered an entree and the waitress returned and said they were out. She recomended another pasta dish & while my wife was hesitant because it didn't sound good, the waitress talked her into it. Well, needless to say, she did not enjoy it. The owner was made aware and came over to say "next time we will do better" however the meal was not taken off the check and they did not so much as offer a free dessert to make up for it. This is the first time I have ever given a restaurant a bad review, But, The bottom line - THE FOOD IS MEDIOCRE AND THE OWNER IS A JERK!

We love Nando's, the staff are very accommodating, small interior trattoria feel with al fresco in good weather on a quieter part of Division's Restaurant Row. The gnocchi are heavenly puffs, the fettucine bolognese is excellent and portofino is a great seafood option. I love finishing the meal with a lemoncello, sweet, lemony and just the right end to a perfect meal.

Great little spot, and friendly 'authentic' italian staff; but not really that impressed with the food. Pasta is definitely made in house - but the sauces are not 'simple / delicious' like you would find in italy. A good italian meal is fresh, simple, seasonal. That's the beauty.

Absolutely loved our time at Nando Milano. Started off with a bread bag with a few different flavors of bread along with olive oil. Cocktails were delicious AND strong (which is the absolute best and rare to fine) and the calamari was some of the freshest I've ever had. My boyfriend mentioned that the caesar salad was the best he's ever had. For entrees, I had the seafood linguini (with GLUTEN FREE PASTA) and I didn't feel like I was missing anything; it almost tasted better than typical pasta. My boyfriend had the veal but was a little put off by the amount of truffle oil in the meal; it was too much for his liking. Either way, we both loved the food and ambience here and would definitely come back.

Fantastic meat-centric Traditional Italian with homemade pastas and a great wine list. Sidewalk seating in the warmer months, inside, dimly lit with well-dressed staff. Much different from the many red sauce/spaghetti Italian place that dot the neighborhood. Had one particularly bad service experience, but everything else was good.

I discovered Nando Milano through an open table search. I can't believe I hadn't heard about this place before - it's excellent! We had 4 diners in our group and every one of us loved our dinner. The pasta (all homemade) was excellent; ditto for the starters and salads and fresh-baked bread (which you will want plenty of so you can sop up all that good sauce left on the plate after the pasta is gone). The wine list has excellent choices. Our waitress was top-notch - thoroughly versed in all the food and wine and able to provide really helpful descriptions to help us make our choices. All staff members were incredibly friendly and professional. It was nice weather so we enjoyed the great outdoor area. Will definitely be back soon!

I do love this place. Although it is tiny, it is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. The prices are decent, although the cocktails seemed a bit high. The service is always superb, the waitstaff is eager to recommend or suggest items based on your taste. I have not had a bad meal yet, but the only one complaint I had is that I got a pasta dish with shrimp and there were only 2 shrimp...I found that a little odd and skimpy...it was delicious though...just wished I had more shrimp! Even one more!!! There are very eager to please, but are not overbearing.

The lovely patio outside was packed. Food was amazing! Yelena, our server was warm, friendly & had great suggestions (which we went with) Started with Pork Meatballs, Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio (both photo worthy & delicious) a Mixed Seafood dish & a Pasta dish. All Incredible! For main courses 2 of us had Branzino w/Asparagus which was light & tasty. Absolutely delicious! My husband had the Pork Chop which he devoured & the other man had Lobster & Scallops in a light, creamy sauce. We had a few wines w/dinner(nice list) then on to dessert. Apple Pie, heavenly (made in house) Cannoli, also delicious, along w/Coffee, Cappuccino & complimentary Biscotti. The owner, Dario, was very attentive & service was great! We can't wait to go back!

Our visit to Nando Trattoria Milano was outstanding. Every dish that we tried was wonderful … the focaccia bread that we were served, the beautifully presented and delicious salad, and all three of us very much enjoyed our entrees … the lobster and pasta special, the rigatoni, and the lobster ravioli. Nando Milano is a must! First, the outdoor patio made you feel like you were in some European cafe. Second, the service was wonderful, attentive without being overbearing. Third, the food.....ah yes, the food! Everything was amazing. Gnocchi al Rosso were like little pillows that melted in my mouth. The papparadelle with pork ragu was outstanding. Did I mention the pasta was homemade? The mussels as appetizer was unusual and very tasty. Homemade bread was so good dipped into the sauce of the appetizer and pasta. The desserts were delicious. Dario Vullo, the owner, was friendly and charming. His chef brother, Alessio, is an artist. This is a must for an amazing dining experience!
