Diner Reviews
  • "Tapas were memorable with a lot of flavor and the atmosphere was lively. Flamenco dancing was fun to watch (Thursday and Saturday nights). Highly recommend this gem of a place!!!"

  • "Hosting my large, loud, bawdy group of friends for my annual birthday gathering can be a challenge. We love good food, good drinks, but I'm loath to bring our rowdy group to restaurants where our raucous laughter might interrupt a proposal or romantic dinner. So I'm always in search of a fun place which can handle us, with good food to boot. Nai Tapas fits the bill - the food is wonderful, the place is cheap and cheerful, and the blueberry champagne sangria is delicious enough even for my wine connoisseur friends. Top that all off with friendly, happy, efficient service, and I'm certain to return."

  • "I came here on a double date, and have come back twice since! The pitchers of sangria are great (I recommend red, the mango was too sweet for me), and every dish I've had has been great. The clams in diablo sauce are really great... the sauce is spicy and delish!"

  • "Our second visit to Nai Tapas was once again a fun night out. With flavorful food and drink options and delightful service, another trip is most definitely in order. Though there was a bit of a delay in getting seated (it can get rather crowded on show nights, and people are slow to pay the tab when the times are good), it was good to see that the show won't start until all reservations are at their tables. The flamenco show is a nice addition to the dining experience; in a city that is drowning in restaurants that are here today and gone tomorrow, getting a little culture while dining for a very reasonable price makes Nai Tapas stand out. I genuinely hope this place sticks around."

  • "The Tapas was great! They have a big selection and the service is very quick. The sangria was excellent. I let them know ahead on open table that it was my daughters birthday and at the end they brought out cake with a candle without my asking. I look forward to going again!"

  • "Great service by pretty hostess and friendly waiter, very passionate flamenco dance by the female dancer, nice variance of speed in music, interesting options of tapas to try out. Def try the skirt steak! Confirmation call for reservation was a nice touch."

  • "It will be nice to have Spanish music in the restaurant and the flamingo dance on Fridays"

  • "What a super combination! Really good, authentic tapas and an energy filled flamenco show. We need to come back and try the food on another night, but if the quality holds up, this place will be a new favorite! It's a small lower East Side place, with casual dress. The tapas plates are varied and nicely seasoned."

  • "Nai is a great wine and tapas place. The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, but friendly. The food was delicious, the wine was amazing, and the waitress had perfect timing! Definitely a place I would go back to."

  • "We had a group here for a birthday and we had so much fun! The tapas were tasty and the live flamenco show @ 8:30PM was spectacular. After the show, they brought up my friend who was celebrating her birthday for a flamenco lesson. The waitress was very attentive and she had great suggestions for food/drink. I will return!"

  • "The sangria is amazing and the tapas are spectacular! It is so much fun to celebrate your Birthday there. The flamenco dancers call out your name and invite you to dance with them! I will definitely go back...Birthday or not!"

  • "As always a great experience. Awesome sangria, tasty food. Just give the white asparagus a pass but everything else is great."

  • "Food was great. We especially liked the chicken croquet, but the tapas portions were really small. The tropical shangria was awesome! Nice place, but a little too crowded. Loved the service too.Overall, very good - so will definitely return."

  • "Amazing food, excellent service, reasonable prices. The sangria (red) and clams were our favorite. I recommend going on a Saturday and making reservation for a table with a view of the Flamenco dancers. It was a phenomenal experience."

  • "We had the best evening for some time this Saturday at Nai Tapas. We are from MA and visit NY about 3 times a year. Nai was quite a find the food was excellent the wine selection affordable and of high quality , the staff was attentive and enthusiastic and the dancing and singing on Saturday was tremendous. . I hesitate to recommend the place for fear we won't be able to get in on our next visit. By the way the meal with drinks a bottle of wine all the Tapas we could want and tip was $150. This was the best deal we have had in NY in 10 years"

  • "My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant for the first time to see the Flamenco show on Saturday. Although I made a reservation, they did not have a table reserved near the Flamenco dancers. When inquired the waiter said that all the tables at front were reservations. While I had a reservation they sat us furthest away from the show and we couldn't see a thing. The food was very good however. My only complaint there is the paella does not seem to be made to order like most Spanish restaurants I've been too. Overall I would return, but will be more clear about insisting on having a table by the show."

  • "I went for the flamenco. They have it on Saturdays and Thursdays. I was very impressed with the show, felt ok about the tapas. Nothing that stood pit about the food. Service was pleasant."

  • "We went to this place because the reviews were very good. i went several time to Barcelona and Tapas are really good and FRESH. Here the ambiance was really nice, good service but we are to NYC and not to BARCELONA! The tapas look like the tapas but not with fresh food and the sangria was just good. We were disappointed by that. So Next time, we will go to NYC, we will try an another tapas restaurant."

  • "My friends and I had dinner here on a Sun night. I liked that the place wasn't noisy, so we were able to catch up and have some quality conversations. Both the hostess and the server were super friendly. They made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. Our server even worked with us to surprise our friend for his birthday, which was a complete success. I really appreciated that. He gave us great recommendations on the dishes and the wine. He practically chose everything for us suitable to our taste. We had some seafood, rice w shrimp/mussels, spicy dumplings, escargots, sausages, etc. Every dish was delicious, esp the spicy dumplings. We chose about 7 dishes for 4 people (2 guys, 2 girls) plus dessert. We were all full and very satisfied."

  • "Almost all of the tapas are delicious. Not so pricey for tapas and the sangria list is a must have while dining there. The staff are attentive to your needs and prompt with your orders."

  • "I really enjoyed their food and sevice (the place was not that busy as it was Sunday night). They have 6 different Sangria and I love their Champagne Sangria. I have to go back there soon!"

  • "Went with a group of 5 of us for dinner. Great sangria and tapas. Food was awesome and service attentive. They had flamenco music and dancers which was fun but kinda loud. Prices are typical for tapas in the city."

  • "There has never been a bad visit to this restaurant. I try and visit 1-2 times a year, I would go more often but it is hard since I have to travel from Long Island into Manhattan. The food is excellent, the music, the Flamenco show and the service is always courteous and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone."

  • "I went on a Sunday night so I guess it was quieter than usual. But the food was delicious. Our server was extremely helpful and we loved all his recommendations. Shrimp in garlic sauce, seafood croquettes, chorizo sausage with quail egg, tuna empanadas - all excellent! Get the blueberry pomegranate champagne sangria!"

  • "Nai was the perfect dinner spot before going out. We ordered the red sangria, which was delicious and plentiful. We tried the patatas bravas, shrimp in garlic, fried goat cheese, skirt steak and seafood crepes. Everything was delicious and I could have eaten more."

  • "We chose Nai Tapas Bar because they have two live flamenco shows on Thursday night - we could make the later 10:30 PM show with a 10:15 PM reservation. Upon arriving at Nai, the host acknowledged our reservation and led us to a table adjacent to the wooden stage as to get the best view of the show. The Galician inspired menu provided a wealth of options. Our server was courteous, patient and attentive, making sure he recorded our selections correctly. The flamenco show was incredibly entertaining - the two dancers and four musicians highly skilled. Our tapas arrived quickly and everything was superb - perfectly seasoned, well portioned and nicely plated. Wine list was also very good and reasonably priced. I would certainly return soon!"

  • "My wife and I saw glowing reviews of Nai Tapas on TripAdvisor, and were very much looking forward to delicious tapas. Unfortunately, the 3 dishes we ordered were bland and boring. 1. First was the Empanadillas De Carne. Mostly just pastry; the meat filling was "ok", but I've had much better! 2. Next was mussels in a red sauce. They were "ok", but the sauce was SO salty, I couldn't eat my dipped bread! 3. Our last order was their version of seafood paella, which was a couple small shrimp, oysters, and mussels on top of a mound of bland orange rice. The sangria's were mostly watered down. The unbelievable noise did nothing to help the "ambience". The waitress, though, was excellent!"

  • "Dined here initially for a party of 3, we called to add on another and were easily accomidated. Uno, our waiter, was attentive and even gave our table a small pitcher of sangria on the house. He was great. We will definately be back!!"

  • "With one exception the food met or exceeded expectations. Had Papas Cabrales, a new experience, it was so good that my wife ordered a second plate. Service was exceptional prompt friendly and knowledgeable. We tried for a table a few nights later but was booked up. We will definitely go back next time we are in NYC."

  • "This is easily one of the best Tapas restaurants in NYC. Small, but intimate Nai Tapas offers a delicious and vibrant menu at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and give good suggestions from the menu and advice on how many plates to order depending on your party size and appetite. I recommend the patatas cabrales, the skirt steak and pork tenderloin! The sangria- any flavor is a must! Enjoy!"

  • "Nai is one of those rare places that hits all the right notes--vibrant, warm ambience with a warmer staff and pitch-perfect plates. Happy hour during the week is a great deal, but we'd miss it every time to see the flamenco show, which is really what gets us excited to come back with friends and family."

  • "I was looking for a place to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends and based on others' reviews I selected Nai Tapas. I came with a group of 10 and the restaurant was so accommodating. A friend brought cupcakes and the manager put them in the kitchen and refrigerated them until we were ready to eat them and did not charge a cake fee! The food was AMAZING - the chicken croquettes were my favorite, but all of the plates we ordered were great. The sangria was delish, my favorite flavors being the red and blueberry pomegranate champagne. Overall a perfect dining experience, I can't wait to go back!"

  • "My good friend asked me to meet her at Nai back in 2011 she discovered the Happy. Hour and I've been bringing friends from out of town and family ever since. My Mothers side of the fam is from Sevilla so finding great tapas is always a challenge as we are all foodies and critical about most spanish places... But at Nai the Tapas are amazing. Croquetas de jamón Serrano, gambas al ajillo OMG are like no other I am immediately transported to España! The staff is amazing and if you are so lucky to get a reservation for a Thurs evening or Sat evening you will enjoy one of the best Flamenco shows in NYC!!"
