Diner Reviews
  • "Great place to cool off in the park. Food was great - prices were no more than $2 more than counter service meals. Potion of the Gods was delicious!"

  • "I was looking forward to this but was disappointed. But it is a theme park restaurant. All comfort food. My wife and I did not like the meatloaf that we share. My kids only ate half of their burgers they say it was not good. Only thing I like is the sushi appetizer we all like it. Next time I won't expect a lot in a theme park restaurant. I reserve this knowing it had a great review. The other good thing is we are inside because it is raining outside. Our waiter is good but waiting for our food long. He said they are busy but there is a several empty table."

  • "Very nice break from the hustle of the park. Very pleasant air conditioned environment."

  • "The food was good but not special. The decoration is beautiful but it is so noisy that it makes it not so magic. I don't understand that this place was voted best theme park restaurant in the world..."

  • "Top notch resort restaurant! We made a reservation on opentable and sat within 5 minutes on a busy day. Food and ambience was worth slight premium!"

  • "Good for lunch or dinner but service is slow and non-attentive."

  • "We had been to Universal serveral times and I had seen Mythos but since we didn't have a reservation did not want to wait. On this trip, I made a 11:30 reservation. Boy was I glad I did because by the time we were to be seated it was getting packed. My family was seated about 5 minutes after we showed up. My family split the Mediterranean bread along with the complimentary bread given to us (loved the Universal logo on the butter). I had the Baby Spinach salad with salmon and was amazed at how good it was. Our waiter had said that it was his favorite too. My husband had the mixed green salad and was pleased. My daughter's hamburger was excellent and her friend loved her meatloaf. We have decided to add this restaurant to our "list""

  • "Mythos provided a cool grotto respite from the heat and stress at Universal. Food was great, wigh a perfect view of the park, service upscale. The price for a gourmet burger was less than we paid for crummy counter service ones the day before. The same for soda and iced tea, but with unlimited refills. Did I mention the basket of bread with Universal themed butter? How about free fruit infused ice water in the lobby? And oh yeah, the entire restaurant has a delicious spicy rose scent gently wafting. So yes, we will be back."

  • "A Greek has never stepped foot on the place. It was dirty and the menu very limited. Don't be under mistaken impression food will be Greek."

  • "Myhos was a great place to eat, the menu was updated from the online menu but the waiter allowed selections to be made. Be sure to make reservations or there will be a lengthy wait. This and finnegan's are my two favorite table service restaurants."

  • "We make sure to eat at Mythos every time we come to Orlando for the theme parks. It's always great! The banana gooey cake is a MUST ORDER for dessert. It's awesome! But order a kid's peanut butter ice cream with it. There's only one small glob of ice cream on the cake, and it's just not enough for the whole cake. The kids peanut butter ice cream bowl will have three extra globs. So if you're sharing the dessert with someone, you can each have two globs of ice cream."

  • "We had read some good reviews for this restaurant but we're sorely disappointed. Table settings were missing, drink orders not correctly filled (not our server's fault as it was the manager who took our drink order). Our appetizers were out late, then when we finally received our entrées, the meatloaf looked as if it had been pulled out of a can and microwaved, and my spinach salad with warm bacon vinaigrette dressing was cold to the point that my dressing was thicker than intended and extremely greasy. Our server was amazing and apologetic. We tipped her appropriately but wish we hadn't wasted the time and money at this spot. Our food at the Simpsons food court was exponentially better and we left that spot full and happy."

  • "We ate here for our special dining experience of the trip because my husband said it was the best rated restaurant in a theme park anywhere. It was a beautifully decorated and themed restaurant and the food was amazing. He had a burger and I had a Cesar salad with beef. While I understand the menu is themed as well I thought they could have had a few more options for picky eaters like myself. Our waiter was more laid back and very casual which we personally did not enjoy as it came off like he didn't care. Overall though a place I would recommend to eat once, but not somewhere I would return for a second time."

  • "Mythos is always our pick every year when we visit Islands of Adventure. It is a beautiful restaurant with amazing views of the park. It also provides a very comfortable air-conditioning retreat when the temperatures soar in Orlando. Service can be touch-and-go depending on which server you get, but the food is usually quite good. We visit every year, so we've found some items, such as the shrimp tempura sushi and the Mythos burger quite fantastic. As always, this visit was enjoyable, and our family will be back next summer!"

  • "We were staying at Disneyworld where the service was excellent!! Here the waitress did not check on us during our meal at all. I had to leave my seat to go and find someone to get ketchup and a drink for my child - by the time it came he was practically finished his meal! Awful experience!!"

  • "Our party of 6 had lunch here on a hot day in July. Our appetizers were good (Med flatbread and shrimp sushi) but after that it was just so-so. Our grilled chicken sandwiches and roast beef Panini were dry and unexciting. The vegan pad thai was just ok but the pasta of the day, signature hamburger and risotto were good. We shared the rice krispie sushi for dessert and it was just enough for one sweet bite. The inside of the restaurant is interesting and if it weren't so hot (and raining) it would be nice to sit on the patio."

  • "Mythos proved to be a wonderful respite from the hot, sweltering Florida weather and a very crowded theme park. We arrived 20 minutes early for our lunch reservation, and even though they were busy, we were seated right away. My first words out of my thirteen year old upon entering the restaurant was " This place is so cool, lets hope the food is good". Well we need not have worried. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Food portion sizes were generous but not excessive, the prices are moderate and the presentation was far above what I would expect from a theme park restaurant. The staff were all polite and accommodating. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "This was our second time at Mythos and once again it was delicious. The bacon pizza appetizer was wonderful and I will probably order it to be my entree next time."

  • "Mythos had the best food in all of Disney and Universal theme parks combined! We even enjoyed the food better than at the ultra expensive California Grill. Their Shrimp Tempura roll is a must for any sushi lover. I'd definitely go back to this restaurant next time my family visits Orlando."

  • "Food is great and the prices were reasonable. A good win-win for both kids and grown-ups… fun atmosphere, nice food selections, comfortable and cozy. Our server was nice, but we could tell that he was in a bit of a hurry… did not seem like he could take any extra time with us (maybe just a bad day for him). But overall, a great experience. This was my third time there and have never been disappointed, always good food and a nice quiet break from the craziness outside!"

  • "We always visit Mythos when visiting Islands of Adventure - I can say this place has gone down hill over the past three years and continues to get worse. The waitress was too busy talking to get our drink order, she messed up the order, and the bread basket came with dinner instead of before dinner. The menu has consitently gotten worse over the past three years as well. As I sat and watched the kitchen staff, it seemed more like a party back there as they plated the entrees than like a nice resturaunt. It seemed just like a replay of the popular FOX network TV kitchen show. This place always used to place in the top places to eat in a theme part, now has drifted to the bottom of my list for sure. When will management take notice?"

  • "Dining at Mythos was the best overall dining experience my family and I had during our stay at Universal Studios. The decor makes it a special treat, the food was great (my son was so impressed), and the service was A+. Using Universal Dining Plan at Mythos was a breeze, but at some other places the service seemed to be sub-standard (was this because of the plan?)"

  • "Chose Mythos for an anniversary dinner - first time visit. Food was excellent. Service was great. curtains were closed so view was blocked but all else was very nice."

  • "The food was good and atmosphere pleasant and it had an interesting physical layout. But it was really not deserving of all the hype."

  • "The food was good, especially for a theme park restaurant. However, the service was very slow and we found ourselves constantly looking for our waiter for drink refills, entree delivery, etc. also, the hosts at check in counter we're not very friendly but it was busy so that's common in theme park restaurants."

  • "The signature burger was by far the favorite item ordered. The Pad Thai and Blackened Fish Tacos were good, but not as delicious as expected."

  • "The Mythos signature burger is Awesome! All the food was great, our table and window by the waterfall were very nice. This was a nice lunch break on a hot day and a good birthday lunch for my 10 year old."

  • "Unfortunately , not the best experience . Food was OK for some . My fish taco's were not to good . We have been there 2 x's prior , but years ago. We loved it back then . Not quite the same . Seems to be the trend with most places . Higher prices , lesser quality food ."

  • "We've been eating at Universal for over 10 years and never made it to this restaurant mainly because it wasn't a part if the meal deal. Now that the meal deal is gone, wi made reservations at Mythos. A fantastic food experience. Great price, gorgeous setting and delicious food."

  • "It was my first time having risotto so I'm not sure if it's customary to serve it in small portions. The flavors were amazing. However, I was underwhelmed with the portion size. I finished my dish within 5 minutes and had to buy another snack at another vendor."

  • "The decor of this restaurant is fantastic. The food was very good, with a decent number of options. The establishment was clean and the staff was friendly. They appear organized, no long waits for good and the service was great."

  • "The food was very good for a theme park. We had a great view of the water and park out the window from our table and we really enjoyed that. The food choices were great for adults but also our kids were taken care of as well. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and we had made reservations only a couple of weeks prior. We enjoyed giving Mythos a try and would made reservations for lunch there again on our next visit to Universal."

  • "The server mumbled through every interaction and we got the distinct impression we were not welcome. The menu didn't seem all that extensive but we ordered a soup and tempora. The soup was difficult to mess up but the tempora was deep fried sushi. How can you take something that's supposed to be delicate and healthy and make it so clumsy, heavy and gelatinous? Then the burger arrived, it literally slung in front of me. A plate of orange fried rubbish greeted me. This was supposed to be a 'signature' burger, but I would be embarrassed to get this level of quality from a truck stop. It was depressing. The sign outside proudly boasts best theme park restaurant for 6 years. This is either a lie or the mighty have fallen on very hard times."
