A word from Myers + Chang
Myers + Chang is a funky indie diner setting offering Chef/Owner Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers's very personal interpretation of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese specialties. At Myers + Chang, we focus on sourcing fresh, beautiful, local-when-possible ingredients, using lighter sauces, and giving you either fun and innovative takes on classic dishes, or creating new dishes that stay true to the flavors of the region.

We are inspired by Taiwanese soul food and Southeast Asian street food, all done with a great deal of care. It is a personal, sometimes loose interpretation, to be sure, but our criteria are simple: everything we make must be fresh, delicious, and addictive. We are passionate about sharing our love of this food with you.

Perfectly spiced. Wide selection of Southeast Asian classics each with their personal touch. We could not eat enough that evening - so go with friends so that you can sample more dishes. The desserts were special too. A must return.

The food was delicious and came quickly. Drinks were fantastic. Service was great. They were very flexible about moving around our reservation time and getting us a table outdoors. I would definitely go back. But it is a little pricey. Definitely for a special occasion.

The food is phenomenal. Be ready for flavors and textures that far surpass the average Asian or Pan Asian cuisine palette. They take the best items/combinations from Southeast Asian snacks and meals and present them in a fresh off the wok- street vendor style. These are the items you cannot miss from the menu: 1 Pork belly bao. It's the most tender, firm and bouncy bao bun I've ever tasted married with the most juicy fatty and flavorful pork belly and pickled daikon pairing I've ever had. 2 The Papaya salad. Crunchy not too saucy but spicy and vinegary, it's a great palette cleanser between bites. 3. Noreng rice with pineapple, pork, and fried egg (egg only for brunch) all I can say is wow don't miss it & miss it up before you serve! Enjoy!

The menu is eclectic but supports trying a little of this and a little of that. Don't go in a big group because you won't be able to hear a thing from anyone more than one body away from you; the place is loud.

There are no traditional Asian dishes here so if that's what you want go elsewhere. Chef Chang and her husband have a fun, creative take on their extensive menu. All the staff are professional and attentive. Order and share several items. They will be brought out to your table as soon as you are ready, not all at once. Save room for the Silky Chocolate Mousse with sesame brittle and tamarind Carmel . It is amazing, and the surprise is it is dairy free and made with tofu. Noise level was a little high on a packed Friday night.

Was there on a Monday night, one of the nights where the "Date Night" menu is offered - my friend and I weren't as excited by the pre-set date night menus, so we chose to order on our own off the main menu. Everything we had was delicious, with some standing out more than others (the short ribs, the pork + chive dumplings, and the Taiwanese cold peanut noodles). Seemed like pretty average pricing for what we had. Would return!

These people are truly in the hospitality business. Having one person with an intolerance to gluten can be difficult to accommodate. Not here. Separate menu that does not skimp. A lot of dishes overlap the regular menu so you can still share. No one is left out. They also had nut free, vegetarian and possibly a fat free menu! Ok, maybe not a fat free but whatever your needs they will make your experience wonderful. LOVE this place.

I'd been looking forward to going here for months and finally found an occasion with a group of friends after the theater. The food's amazing and highly recommendable. But if you're with a larger group that wants to converse, it can be harder as the atmosphere is quite noisy. Also, we had a surprisingly hard time getting the waitress to give us separate checks.

The food was ok this time, not as nice as the last three times we've been here. The new wine list was disappointing with limited options especially in the red wine. Also, two of the items ordered never showed up (cauliflower bites and second order of dan dan cold noodles).

They have a wide ranging menu. They have separate menus for vegetarian and gluten-free! Yay! The food is meant for sharing. We ordered a little of this and a little of that, sequentially, until we had out fill. I can't wait to go back to try some of the other dishes! It is casual and a bit noisy. There is paid parking a block east on Harrison. Highly recommend!

I love the cold dan-dan noodles, dumplings, and short ribs! For dating purposes, the restaurant ambiance can be really loud, which makes sitting across from one another at a table less romantic: if there's just two of you, for the best combination of food and conversation, sit at the bar.

Place is small and tight, but with the food being designed to share you don't notice the people right next to you. All of the dishes were classic Asian with a modern twist. Everything was prepared correctly, fast and delicious. Favorite item were the dumplings, however the steam buns were not as impressive. The whole restaurant is happening, so go here for a fun and talkative evening.

Some good and bad. Their website mentions dishes with "lighter sauces" but the two main dishes we tried were *loaded* with spices. The hostesses and most of the staff seemed very friendly, except our waitress, who just seemed bored. The decor was refreshing but the noise level was very uncomfortable, we had to shout to hear each other. And our credit cards were charged wrong. I will just stick with Chinatown.

Great veggie menu. Those veggie dumplings will definitely make me come back to that place. Also the pickled veggies were delightful. Very friendly atmosphere, great service, yet you feel like that you might be tucked away somewhere in China in an English-speaking restaurant - definitely has that authenticity feel. Dessert was impeccable, which is to be expected. We had the lightest and loveliest, chocolate peanut butter cake that is still making my mouth water. Seeing Joanne say hello and clear one of our plates was also the highlight. Awesome place, visit if you haven't. You won't regret it especially if you love Asian food but restricted by a vegetarian diet.

Very disappointed on our second visit here. Waitress sloppy; when asked about heat of dan- dan noodle dish( I had failed to see 3 lines) she said " that's not very hot at all". Could not eat dish; never asked us how first 3 plates were until we were done. Never offered to take charge for noodles off check. Generally appeared to be wishing she were anywhere but Myers and Chang. Based on this experience would not make another return visit. On our first visit last November on a Saturday both Ms Chang and Mr Myers happened to be in the restaurant; perhaps that was why both quality of offod and service were far better.

Our food was wonderful - the wok roasted mussels were a real stand out - absolutely delicious. The restaurant was louder and more bustling than we expected but that's not a problem. Our server- Sara W. - however was very curt and borderline rude. Didn't smile until we asked for the check. Didn't say excuse me when clearing the table. I noticed she was the same with other tables. I don't think servers have to be ebullient or phony but she was, as I said, almost rude. The interactions we had with other servers were very pleasant though and they seemed to be very friendly. Maybe she was just having an off night which I understand but as I said - it colored our experience.

The staff was wonderful to make some accommodations for our who are vegetarians (one being a teenager) but all the veggie dishes were brought first and there was a good 20 mins before any of the other dishes came out! And they kept saying "that's the last dish" until we would remind them that we had two more items coming. So recommendation--don't lose sight of what you ordered and maybe not the place to take a vegetarian--it was awkward to watch one eat while the rest of us waited--so we ended up eating the vegetarian dishes. They have a separate menu for vegetarians so it wasn't that they weren't aware that we weren't all sharing. Timing was definitely off. But good food, pleasant staff otherwise.

We frequent Myers and Chang because of the wonderful flavors in the fusion menu, the inventive menu, and the sheer enjoyment we get from the various dishes that come out of the kitchen --even tofu! Food comes out when it is ready, and for two couples, there is much to share and enjoy together. This is a great spot for groups, and a great culinary experience of a different type. I was very late to the party here. I always wanted to go here and never found occasion or time. I went this past week and the food was mediocre at best and some of the dishes were not cooked well, meaning overcooked and slimy. Some of the dishes were decent but nothing special. its over priced for what you get. the waitstaff were good. the food took some time to be honest.

Went to Myers + Chang after seeing the executive chef on Beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network. Was delighted to see on yelp and on their online menu that prices were extremely reasonable. Made a reservation ASAP and looked forward to eating some Asian Fusion! After eating there, I was pretty disappointed after such high expectations. Portions were quite small (no wonder they can afford to charge such affordable prices), food was so-so, and my beer was a bit lukewarm. Didn't realize my entree didn't come with rice and I also failed to see any shiitake mushrooms in my dish that was promised on the menu. The tortillas for the fish tacos were limp. Service was also on the slower side. All in all, I probably wouldn't recommend to a friend.

The food typical trendy Asian food, good flavors but still a bit too much and too saucy. I would recommend the brown rice entree because it is not too saucy. They have an extensive selection and I wish I was able to sample more things. Even though there is a vegetarian menu, the normal menu is very meat heavy so vegetarians beware. The service was mediocre. Upon arriving for a 6:30 reservation, they told me I had to be out by 8:00 because someone had reserved our table; I find it incredibly irritating when restaurants do this. Also, they brought over the wrong digs several times. Still, they were all very friendly.

Myers and Chang is known for their modern interpretation for traditional Asian cuisine. Yes,it is absolutely one of best eating experiences in Boston and within the South End (where the real good food in Boston is). Several restaurants in the area have wonderful staff, talented chefs, and flavors that are on point. However, Myers and Chang is the best at it. Every dish always tastes the same every time you dine there. It is the type of restaurant, where one finds their favorites (the nasi and mama pork fried dumplings), and is excited to order them and pick a few new items to taste. It is always a pleasure to dine at Myers. I am looking forward to my next meal there.
