A word from Myers + Chang
Myers + Chang is a funky indie diner setting offering Chef/Owner Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers's very personal interpretation of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese specialties. At Myers + Chang, we focus on sourcing fresh, beautiful, local-when-possible ingredients, using lighter sauces, and giving you either fun and innovative takes on classic dishes, or creating new dishes that stay true to the flavors of the region.

We are inspired by Taiwanese soul food and Southeast Asian street food, all done with a great deal of care. It is a personal, sometimes loose interpretation, to be sure, but our criteria are simple: everything we make must be fresh, delicious, and addictive. We are passionate about sharing our love of this food with you.

Diner Reviews
  • "Refreshingly different. Creative menu; very fresh ingredients; thoughtful preparation. Physically an interesting restaurant with 5 or 6 different seating configurations."

  • "We frequent Myers and Chang because of the wonderful flavors in the fusion menu, the inventive menu, and the sheer enjoyment we get from the various dishes that come out of the kitchen --even tofu! Food comes out when it is ready, and for two couples, there is much to share and enjoy together. This is a great spot for groups, and a great culinary experience of a different type. On this Tuesday night, the place was full!"

  • "We had to come back to try the Chicken and Waffles- we were not disappointed. We also had the oysters again- very fresh. And the buns baos rolls wraps and wok-charred udon noodles were very tasty. Love this place!"

  • "Only bad thing about it was the fact that we didnt get to try more stuff on the menu!"

  • "Neat experience. Interesting food so glad we found this while in Boston on vacation."

  • "Probably the friendliest staff I've seen in some time. The menu had lots to choose from and the dining style of sharing dishes with everyone in the party was fun. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. Favorites were the spare ribs and the crispy broccoli. Will definitely go back."

  • "I was very late to the party here. I always wanted to go here and never found occasion or time. I went this past week and the food was mediocre at best and some of the dishes were not cooked well, meaning overcooked and slimy. Some of the dishes were decent but nothing special. its over priced for what you get. the waitstaff were good. the food took some time to be honest."

  • "Went to Myers + Chang after seeing the executive chef on Beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network. Was delighted to see on yelp and on their online menu that prices were extremely reasonable. Made a reservation ASAP and looked forward to eating some Asian Fusion! After eating there, I was pretty disappointed after such high expectations. Portions were quite small (no wonder they can afford to charge such affordable prices), food was so-so, and my beer was a bit lukewarm. Didn't realize my entree didn't come with rice and I also failed to see any shiitake mushrooms in my dish that was promised on the menu. The tortillas for the fish tacos were limp. Service was also on the slower side. All in all, I probably wouldn't recommend to a friend."

  • "Service was good. I had never been to a place like this, and they were happy to explain the menu and offer recommendations. More importantly, the food was delicious."

  • "The food typical trendy Asian food, good flavors but still a bit too much and too saucy. I would recommend the brown rice entree because it is not too saucy. They have an extensive selection and I wish I was able to sample more things. Even though there is a vegetarian menu, the normal menu is very meat heavy so vegetarians beware. The service was mediocre. Upon arriving for a 6:30 reservation, they told me I had to be out by 8:00 because someone had reserved our table; I find it incredibly irritating when restaurants do this. Also, they brought over the wrong digs several times. Still, they were all very friendly."

  • "We have wanted to go to Myers + Chang for years, and I am so happy that we finally had a chance to go!! Great service, fun/casual ambience (though a little loud), and absolutely amazing food!! We were 3 adults, and we shared a bunch of dishes--every single one was spectacular. There were so many things we wanted to try that we can't wait to go back! There is a great kids' menu, and the servers were extremely accommodating."

  • "Everytime I've been to Myers and Chang, I leave with a full belly and a smile on my face. The food is delicious (with plenty of options for vegetarians and carnivores alike). My visiting sister-in-law had a stupendous time as well. Service is friendly and accommodating. I can't say enough about this place, I could eat here everyday! Go, what are you Waiting for?"

  • "Had just arrived from London the day before and felt like Asian-inspired food for lunch. Had visited M and C some years before and enjoyed it. All pretty much as before at this well known Boston joint, nothing has advanced, but two of my courses had a distinctly burnt flavour. A taste that I still had in my mouth a day later! Not good. Add to that some tummy troubles as a result and it's safe to say we won't be going back. Such a shame with so much going on in the Asian or Asian fusion restaurant scene that this place is stuck in a bit of a rut. The lunch menu is uninspiring, even tame, and could seriously do with a makeover. When visiting from outside town it's hard not to feel that Bostonians are being short changed by this place."

  • "We started off by being greeted and seated promptly by Alex, and Sipha was a wonderful guide to our first visit to Myers + Chang. My wife and I loved the "Joanne & Christopher" Cheap Date Night special! The Papaya Slaw. Pork Belly and Arctic Char Roll all delivered multiple layers of great flavor! While we were not fans of the Spicy Silken Tofu, we were introduced to the amazing Salmon Tartare by one of our servers. The rice milk panna cotta gave a wonderfully balanced finish to the meal. my wife and I usually say a place always has room to improve...and while one dish seemed somewhat "one-note" in comparison to the many layers of flavor in the rest of the food, the service certainly made up for any minor flaw in the food."

  • "This is my second favorite restaurant in all of Boston and there is nothing else like it. The food is unique but not too much so that someone who's more of a plain food eater wouldn't get a great meal here and enjoy it. Staff are always so polite and on point with there service. Management knows how to run an A+ business and even they are always around to say hello."

  • "Its a great place where you get rounds of food and drinks for hours (if you want) and share it all family style. NO pressure to leave or finish up to clear the table for others. We were there for 3 hours and feasted. Drinks are delicious too, though they seem a bit weak to me. Amazing for groups."

  • "It was just "ok". Food took a long time, service very slow. Eggplant was bland in flavor. Chicken and scallion pancake dish was dry. Waffle would have been better..."

  • "As always, Myers + Chang hit it out of the park with their wonderful lunch. The Thai Iced tea was delicious, my chicken with bok choy and noodles was plentiful and tasty, and they even had a printed vegetarian menu to offer my friend! Wonderful, warm, friendly place, with a great vibe."

  • "Delicious but a little pricey. Everything was really good. The prices were a little ridiculous though."

  • "So we love Myers and Chang. It is ALWAYS fabulous food. We have eaten here many times and never had any issues so this must have been a "one-off". We had several dishes (tofu/pork dish is phenomenal and broccoli bites are to die for) and several drinks (wine...husband had a great IPA Innocence). Our service was terrible for some reason. She forgot about us (I think). It took way to long to get our drinks and then she never came back. We were sitting there with all of our food with no drinks...not even water. I finally had to ask another server about our drinks...that is when things turned ugly. Our server then became very rude...she would just plop things down in front of us without saying a word. Great food but terrible service."

  • "Our family is a big fan of Joanne Chang's cookbooks and Flour so we just had to come and we were not disappointed. The staff was welcoming and very pleasant. Out server was attentive and very helpful with ordering and the food.... delicious!! We will be back."

  • "Service was excellent and very friendly, food was overall delicious - special highlights were the braised beef bao and the shrimp dumplings with the kimchee mayo yumyum."

  • "Myers and Chang has never disappointed. One of the best restaurants in Boston. They keep the menu fresh, we always find something new and fun to eat (with amazing flavor) every time we visit. Thanks for your consistency!"

  • "Great experience here - many of the dishes were top notch. Octopus, salmon tartare, pork belly buns were terrific. Joanne Chang herself came to our table to wish us happy anniversary and gave us dessert - just a great experience all around"

  • "Myers + Chang had been on my list of restaurants to try out ever since it was opened, but it took a while for me to get there. But the wait - and the trip - was well worth it. We ordered the braised pork belly buns (excellent, great balance of flavors), pork and chive dumplings (very good, well fried but could use a bit more seasoning), and the rainbow trout with coconut rice (nuanced flavors, tomato jam isn't all together necessary). The service was great, and we even got a chance to see the owners pop in and bustle around the restaurant."

  • "The food was just fantastic - excellent starters, mains, and food, and the drinks were great too. The place was rather loud, which can prove difficult, but it was a Friday night, so we were prepared to deal with it. Overall, great place! We definitely want to go back again!"

  • "Best dumplings we have ever had, also don't miss the fried rice, very spicy....leave room for dessert, lemon mousse is amazing, can't wait to go back"

  • "We had a decent night at Myers & Chang - but I don't get the hype. The food was ok. Not outstanding - if anything I felt it was a little greasy. I don't think we will be coming back anytime soon."

  • " The bartender was amazing. She was so friendly and although busy she took time to explain the menu and give us her recommendations of what not to miss. At her suggestion we started with a carafe of summer sangria. It was perfectly balanced and a fresh way to start the night. My dinner companions moved on to the bloodlust margaritas. They were amazing, full of flavor and perfectly complemented by a sriracha salt rim. We were served some complimentary asian pickles to whet our appetites and before long were seated at a table for four alongside the open kitchen. We decided to eat family style. We tried the lemony shrimp and pork and chive dumplings,Szechwan Shrimp, crispy whole fish and Indonesian rice. Everything was wonderful."

  • "The food was creative and delicious. The only dish (out of four mains and two desserts) that we didn't enjoy was the Lemony Prawn Dumplings. The prawns had a "dirty water" tinge to their flavor that completely detracted from anything good about the dish; wish we'd have chosen the Pork and Chive Dumplings instead. The Pork Belly Bao and Stuffed Trout were both amazing. The creative non-alcoholic drinks were so tempting that we didn't order anything with liquor, and we didn't miss it! The atmosphere was unique (in a great way!) and the service fantastic. I'd highly recommend this restaurant for anyone willing to try something new."

  • "went here with people from atlanta and their two small children.....staff could not have been friendlier, food was extraordinary one dish after another....make sure to get tea smoked ribs and pan fried dumplings! each dish was different, creative and delicious, whether it was rice or noodle dishes.....i highly recommend this place"

  • "The ambiance was very nice, the waitstaff and the cooks were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the food was unique and delicious. Overall a great experience! I like their open kitchen, so you can watch them tossing food in their big woks, grilling things, etc... The cooks were very nice about talking to me or explaining something if I asked any questions about what they were doing. I also got a free carrot and farro salad as a "gift", but that was the only dish that I didn't think tasted very good. The octopus and green papaya slaw were great! Only donwside was my waitress. Very friendly, but I don't know if she was trying or if she cared very much. She gave me the wrong check at the end, and I had to get up to ask her for my own."

  • "Found most of the food delicious. That's why will try again. Very early reservation on Sunday. But took a while to get water, etc. It appeared that most staff were in a meeting. Ordered several items and were advised that they came out as they were done. Wasn't an issue until the final two items - and appetizer and an entree - which arrived nearly 30 minutes after everything else. And the stuffed calamari (appetizer delivered 30 minutes after everything else) was almost like eating shoe leather. We finally gave up and just ate the stuffing. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she did ask if I wanted something else, but after such a long wait, we said no. Didn't want to wait another 30 minutes. If she had removed it from my check ..."

  • "The service was extraordinary--my sister has allergies which she did not mention right at the start of ordering and they bent over backwards to make sure nothing had peanuts in it. Everyone was so friendly and fun and super attentive. The food is fantastic...every small dish we had was better than the last--each with a unique flavor and texture and taste. Really fun laid back atmosphere while having 5 star service and food--my idea of a perfect meal."

  • "From the moment you enter until the time you leave, this is a restaurant with a gracious, helpful staff serving delicious, cooked-to-order food that is willingly modified to meet personal dietary requirements. Take a moment to introduce yourself to chief/owner Joanne Chang or executive chief Karen Akunowicz; the conversation will enhance your dining experience. Recommendations are: hot and sour soup; pan-seared scallops; wok-charred curried duck; and dumplings."

  • "On a beautiful evening, on the tiny patio, with a kid's baseball game behind us in the park, we had a fine meal and service to match. The staff is charming and attentive, the octopus and corn and carrots with miso were super, and four of us with quite different tastes enjoyed everything we ordered, including the delicious summer sangria."
