A word from Myers + Chang
Myers + Chang is a funky indie diner setting offering Chef/Owner Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers's very personal interpretation of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese specialties. At Myers + Chang, we focus on sourcing fresh, beautiful, local-when-possible ingredients, using lighter sauces, and giving you either fun and innovative takes on classic dishes, or creating new dishes that stay true to the flavors of the region.

We are inspired by Taiwanese soul food and Southeast Asian street food, all done with a great deal of care. It is a personal, sometimes loose interpretation, to be sure, but our criteria are simple: everything we make must be fresh, delicious, and addictive. We are passionate about sharing our love of this food with you.

We aways go to this restaurant when we visit Boston. The food is delicious, albeit spicy. Atmosphere is casual, not pretentious. I think I could eat the sweet and sour soup every day of my life!.

Every time I come here, I am so taken aback by how nice the staff is. Every one of them. And accommodating. What did I do to deserve this? Do they get special training in "niceness"? I just don't usually expect it in a place that seems trendy. Food was brought to us one after another, whenever they came hot off the press, presented with a smiling phrase like, "here are your dan dan noodles!" I have been a few times. My first time, I loved sitting at the bar and watching the show. Love the mix of food choices, including plenty of veg options. Go when they have Dim Sum, for an opportunity to taste a variety of dishes. Love the hakka eggplant dish. Perhaps the most. Can get busy, so reservations are recommended.

The hosts greeted us warmly and seated us right away. The corner table at the end of the bar by the kitchen was not a great location but it was looking very busy in the restaurant, so there were no other options. We had decided on our food choices, but had to ask a bus person to find the server so that we could order, because it had been about ten minutes and no one had come to the table. Once we placed the order, the rest of the experience went smoothly. Everything we ordered was delicious. The Scallion Pancakes and Cold Thai Dan Dan Noodles were so tasty. The Balsamic Salmon and Tamarind Glazed Scallops were excellent and cooked as we asked. The Vanilla Bean Parfait was especially good and a refreshing way to end our meal.

I work not far from myers + chang and love their food but had never been there. its a fun atmosphere. The service was good. But cant say great. They were busy (which is totally their fault for being good), but seemed stretched a bit for staffing. I never got a napkin either. Small oversite. Kind of weird. I honestly didn't even notice for a bit but when I did it was hard to get someones attention to ask.

We had high expectations and were very disappointed. The pork dumplings were too greasy and not as good as I get from my neighborhood Thai takeout place. To make matters worse, we specifically ordered them as an appetizer, and they were served at the end of our meal! The beef and broccoli chow fun was doused in a brown sauce that we didn’t like. The best thing was the Thai ginger chicken salad was very tasty, with lots of fresh herbs and lime juice. I wouldn’t order it again because the chicken was ground into unappealing bits, and there was also something tiny and crunchy in the salad it that felt like biting into sand or small pebbles. We could have had a better meal for half the price at any number of other Asian restaurants.

I have been wanting to go to Myers and Chang for years and was not disappointed in the least. The food, drinks and service were fantastic. My only issue was that we were seated next to the patio door that kept being opened to bring table settings in and out and then seat people. In this summer, it would have been fine. On a 50 degree October evening, it was a detriment. This would not stop me from returning - the food was awesome - but I'll definitely request a different table next time.

Eight of us dined here to celebrate my birthday and it was a perfect experience. The food was great and we loved all the sharing. We each ordered 2 dishes and then passed everything around. Some dishes were so good -- mussels, scallion pancakes, dumplings -- we had to order seconds. Our waiter was attentive and kept the food coming. Everyone enjoyed the lively setting and the variety. And, as a bonus, Joanne Chang was in the house and greeted our table.

Four of us went for Dim Sum brunch on Sat at 12:30. We had a number of dishes all of which were well prepared and interesting. The braised pork belly bao is fantastic. We had one of our party who turned out to be allergic to rice of all things. It is difficult to dance around that in a largely asian themed restaurant. No rice, rice wine, rice wine vinegar or anything that contained anything rice related. The staff was very accommodating seeking out all of the dishes on the menu that either contained no rice products or could be slightly modified to accomodate. We still had a great brunch with the available choices. My hat is off to both the chef and the staff for accommodating such an unusual request.

Fantastic food! In Boston for an evening and came here on a friend's recommendation. Everything we ordered was fantastic, with great presentation and amazingly complex and delightful combinations of flavors. Only drawback for us, a group of 3, was that the music was really loud and frantic sounding - making it less than ideal for conversation and slowly enjoying the food.

Took my parents here when they visited-- we went for the vegetarian menu. They also have gluten- and nut-free menus. It is really refreshing to see such a wide variety of foods available for dietary restrictions. We decided to split a lot of food, just to have the chance to try more things. The tofu buns with pickled vegetables and hot sauce were really good, although they fell apart while eating. The dan dan noodles were also great. Other noodle dishes (Shanghai and slippery) were less memorable-- not sure if these were meant to be shared, since all the noodles were served without any appropriate serving utensils (slippery noodles + soup spoon?). The mustard green/wasabi dumplings were fun to try, but the filling was almost dry.

the food was great. the octopus was some of the best i have eaten. the noise level however, was awful. my husband and i kept saying that we couldn't imagine the type of music and its decibel were what the managers wanted to convey to customers. in fact, we saw a table of two get up and leave and overheard them say to the hostess that it was just too loud. the hostess, when I asked her to please turn the music down barely made eye contact and gave my a curt response. probably won't go back because of the music and how loud.

Visited based on this place having received generally all round rave reviews. Coming from London, this restaurant is not up to the standard that I'm used to in terms of quality of food or service, and the restaurant lacked atmosphere during our visit. Staff seemed bored and uninterested. I wouldn't reccommend and wouldn't return - it's not worth the trip to this neighbourhood.

Myers & Chang is the go-to place for younger, health-conscious diners with sophisticated tastes. The menu which changes frequently, is pan-Asian emphasizing wholesome grains, vegetables, and modest amounts of meat, way different and far better than standard Chinese. Some of the dishes are spicy and some are too salty but all are unpretentious and downright delicious. The dining room is small and plain; there's an outdoor patio when weather permits. Excellent, informed service. The down-side for me is the noise, a regular complaint for us elders.

We ordered the kale salad, edamame/wasabi potstickers, surf and turf black pepper noodles, and ginger glazed salmon. The potstickers were in your face with wasabi (waitstaff warned us), but still very good. Salmon wasn't anything special, noodles were my fav entree. The best part, though, was the coconut cream pie for dessert.

The food is phenomenal. Be ready for flavors and textures that far surpass the average Asian or Pan Asian cuisine palette. They take the best items/combinations from Southeast Asian snacks and meals and present them in a fresh off the wok- street vendor style. These are the items you cannot miss from the menu: 1 Pork belly bao. It's the most tender, firm and bouncy bao bun I've ever tasted married with the most juicy fatty and flavorful pork belly and pickled daikon pairing I've ever had. 2 The Papaya salad. Crunchy not too saucy but spicy and vinegary, it's a great palette cleanser between bites. 3. Noreng rice with pineapple, pork, and fried egg (egg only for brunch) all I can say is wow don't miss it & miss it up before you serve! Enjoy!

There are no traditional Asian dishes here so if that's what you want go elsewhere. Chef Chang and her husband have a fun, creative take on their extensive menu. All the staff are professional and attentive. Order and share several items. They will be brought out to your table as soon as you are ready, not all at once. Save room for the Silky Chocolate Mousse with sesame brittle and tamarind Carmel . It is amazing, and the surprise is it is dairy free and made with tofu. Wine list was VERY limited. We chose a rose which was horrible and overpriced- tasted like sweet Koolaid. Decided to try a vodka tonic. Guess what- no spirits available unless they are infused and sweet. Waitress was a sourpuss. No smiles, no greeting. She told our table of 5 that everything on the menu was great for sharing. We ordered 3 appetizers before dinner. There was enough on each plate for two people. Two small tacos, a tiny bowl of salad etc. - It would have been nice if the waitress was clear on portion sizes when suggesting we "share" - like "It's great to share between 2 people" We barely each got a bite of the apps. We left after that discouraging experience and opted to have dinner elsewhere.

Was there on a Monday night, one of the nights where the "Date Night" menu is offered - my friend and I weren't as excited by the pre-set date night menus, so we chose to order on our own off the main menu. Everything we had was delicious, with some standing out more than others (the short ribs, the pork + chive dumplings, and the Taiwanese cold peanut noodles). Seemed like pretty average pricing for what we had. Would return!

These people are truly in the hospitality business. Having one person with an intolerance to gluten can be difficult to accommodate. Not here. Separate menu that does not skimp. A lot of dishes overlap the regular menu so you can still share. No one is left out. They also had nut free, vegetarian and possibly a fat free menu! Ok, maybe not a fat free but whatever your needs they will make your experience wonderful. LOVE this place.
