A word from Myers + Chang
Myers + Chang is a funky indie diner setting offering Chef/Owner Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers's very personal interpretation of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese specialties. At Myers + Chang, we focus on sourcing fresh, beautiful, local-when-possible ingredients, using lighter sauces, and giving you either fun and innovative takes on classic dishes, or creating new dishes that stay true to the flavors of the region.

We are inspired by Taiwanese soul food and Southeast Asian street food, all done with a great deal of care. It is a personal, sometimes loose interpretation, to be sure, but our criteria are simple: everything we make must be fresh, delicious, and addictive. We are passionate about sharing our love of this food with you.

  • " The bartender was amazing. She was so friendly and although busy she took time to explain the menu and give us her recommendations of what not to miss. At her suggestion we started with a carafe of summer sangria. It was perfectly balanced and a fresh way to start the night. My dinner companions moved on to the bloodlust margaritas. They were amazing, full of flavor and perfectly complemented by a sriracha salt rim. We were served some complimentary asian pickles to whet our appetites and before long were seated at a table for four alongside the open kitchen. We decided to eat family style. We tried the lemony shrimp and pork and chive dumplings,Szechwan Shrimp, crispy whole fish and Indonesian rice. Everything was wonderful."

  • "Found most of the food delicious. That's why will try again. Very early reservation on Sunday. But took a while to get water, etc. It appeared that most staff were in a meeting. Ordered several items and were advised that they came out as they were done. Wasn't an issue until the final two items - and appetizer and an entree - which arrived nearly 30 minutes after everything else. And the stuffed calamari (appetizer delivered 30 minutes after everything else) was almost like eating shoe leather. We finally gave up and just ate the stuffing. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she did ask if I wanted something else, but after such a long wait, we said no. Didn't want to wait another 30 minutes. If she had removed it from my check ..."

  • "There's no wonder it is so tough to get a reservation here! Although they lack a proper liquor license (so the drinking is not why one comes here), the food more than makes up for it. Inventive, flavorful Asian-inspired cuisine, some traditional, some not-so-much, all worth tasting, and served with impeccable care and attention. This is a perfect place for friends and family alike, though not really a great atmosphere (or food) for children. You'll leave feeling satisfied and eager to return. My favorite dishes are the dumplings, Dan-Dan Noodles, and Korean BBQ Sloppy Joe--YUM."

  • "The service was extraordinary--my sister has allergies which she did not mention right at the start of ordering and they bent over backwards to make sure nothing had peanuts in it. Everyone was so friendly and fun and super attentive. The food is fantastic...every small dish we had was better than the last--each with a unique flavor and texture and taste. Really fun laid back atmosphere while having 5 star service and food--my idea of a perfect meal."

  • "The ambiance was very nice, the waitstaff and the cooks were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the food was unique and delicious. Overall a great experience! I like their open kitchen, so you can watch them tossing food in their big woks, grilling things, etc... The cooks were very nice about talking to me or explaining something if I asked any questions about what they were doing. I also got a free carrot and farro salad as a "gift", but that was the only dish that I didn't think tasted very good. The octopus and green papaya slaw were great! Only donwside was my waitress. Very friendly, but I don't know if she was trying or if she cared very much. She gave me the wrong check at the end, and I had to get up to ask her for my own."

  • "We have to go back! It was 2 of us- we had started with 3 small plates- tea smoked pork ribs, hakka eggplant & kevin’s “old school” egg roll. We still wanted to try several other plates but were too full to go on. However, I still had room in the dessert section of my belly to try the coconut cream pie- oh my! Everything was delicious! The tea-smoked ribs were a little too smokey for our taste- but some people will love that. We want to return soon for the chicken and waffles!"

  • "I've been to Myers & Chang several times, the food is always phenomenal, and the drinks are delicious. Everything is fresh and tastes so good. My only complaint is on how long it takes to get your drink order. Every time I have been there, I have noticed how slow the waitstaff is in bringing your drink order. This most recent time our first round of drinks came out slow, some were soda drinks, others had alcohol in them, but when we ordered a second round of a few of the drinks, we had to ask twice for them. That shouldn't happen. We were seated right next to the bar, we were there for lunch, the restaurant was not crowded. I will definitely go back to Myers & Chang again, but I would love it if they could fix that issue."

While the ambience was okay with a cute cross between diner and restaurant, the volume of the patrons and music made it hard to be heard. We loved our food and were surprised by how fast it arrived and yet how infrequently our waitress attended to us. It took 15 minutes to get her to get us the check. Given the difficulty for getting a reservation (1 mo in advance) and parking issues in that area we'll probably do take-out if we were to order again."

  • "We went here for the first time on Friday to try it out. The food was ok, though no better than other restaurants in the neighborhood with better ambience. The service was slow and the place was simply too small for our liking. It was very noisy and with the open kitchen, we found ourselves smelling many different types of food that didn't necessarily mix well. Additionally, their very limited cocktail list included a too sour Mai Tai and their limited bartender staff seemed to run out of Sangria (how does that happen by 8pm on a Friday?)"

When they double checked I wad correct and barely received an apology for it. Food was very good but service was just oak and it was really hard to hear. Wouldn't rush back. "

  • "This was a major disappointment. The food was greasy, and the portions were small. You hardly noticed what you were eating because it was so dark. It was also very noisy in the restaurant. I felt that most of these deficiencies in the ambience were an attempt to distract you from the mediocre food. It was very expensive too. We spent about $40 per person and one of us went home hungry. But months sometimes go by between visits and then I'm surprised all over again by the range of Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese inspired dishes. Grilled asparagus with lemon pesto was a new addition. Don't miss the crisp artic char roll and the shrimp dumplings, golden brown on one side, plump and juicy on the other. Ask for a seat at the bar and you'll witness the secret of Myers and Chang's success: a brilliantly organized cast of chefs who smile and talk to each other in an orchestrated frenzy of activity, under the watchful eye of Executive Chef Karen Akunowicz who checks every dish to make sure it is up to her high standards."
