A word from Myers + Chang
Myers + Chang is a funky indie diner setting offering Chef/Owner Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers's very personal interpretation of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese specialties. At Myers + Chang, we focus on sourcing fresh, beautiful, local-when-possible ingredients, using lighter sauces, and giving you either fun and innovative takes on classic dishes, or creating new dishes that stay true to the flavors of the region.

We are inspired by Taiwanese soul food and Southeast Asian street food, all done with a great deal of care. It is a personal, sometimes loose interpretation, to be sure, but our criteria are simple: everything we make must be fresh, delicious, and addictive. We are passionate about sharing our love of this food with you.

  • "We love M & C and always have a great time. The menu is varied and offers exciting, enticing exotic fare. Service staff is efficient and personable. It's so much fun to try new dishes and you can't go wrong. "

  • "Great Asian food. Expensive though! Skip the dessert!! Make a reservation "

  • "The food overall was good but some dishes were extremely salty and oily. The spareribs/pork-ribs tasted like they where reheated and doused in pepper. The wine list and service staff is fantastic and if you like 90's R&B this is your place."

  • "Had a lovely dinner here-- great food and fun atmosphere. But I can't recommend it at this time for anyone requiring a gluten-free diet. The restaurant has a dedicated gluten-free menu, which I discussed with our server before ordering (my son and I have celiac; we were there in a group of 6). Near the end of the meal, the manager came over to our table and told me that, "the salmon dish you just had was actually not gluten-free." Apparently, we received a dish meant for another table. We received apologies from her and eventually from both the chef and the owner, but of course, there was nothing that could be done at that point. They did not charge us for the gluten-free meals, but we did pay for the remainder of the dinner. "

  • "Arrive early to find parking. The food was excellent. Spare ribs, Indonesian rice (ask to reduce spice), and the trout with coconut rice were all excellent. We would definitely return to try other menu items."

  • "I was visiting Boston and Myers+Chang was a place that kept coming up as a great palace to eat. I will be back. Great service, fantastic food-very interesting flavors and combinations. Try the lamb belly with long beans and mustard. The scallion pancake is addictive. Very interesting beer menu. Our server was knowledgeable and very attentive. Make a reservation as the place is small. Bring friends and share, it is worth it!"

  • "So glad we finally tried Myers + Chang. Everything was very tasty, the staff was so nice and attentive. We will be back!"

  • "No disrespect to Shane Victorino, but every little thing tastes much better than alright at Myers + Chang - the flavors, the textures, the aromas are just so perfect on every single thing we have had on multiple visits. The kitchen crew looks happy even when busy, the entire staff is always friendly and helpful, and the drinks are great. Creative combinations and non complicated presentations along with really fresh ingredients provide a menu that is simultaneously gourmet yet unpretentious. And the "slightly larger than tapas" portion sizes lend themselves to sharing, so make sure to go with some friends to max out on flavor!"

  • "I came here with my mom and my bf, and the atmosphere was great, perhaps a little loud. The quality of the food was really good, but the portions were tiny. We had lobster egg foo young (my favorite), eggplants, shanghai noodles and the porkbelly buns. The buns too forever to get to the table to they took them off our check, but two buns for $9??? That's insane. There are definitely better places in Chinatown and near BU for great Asian fusion. I had high expectations for the dessert, but the chocolate mousse had a fishy taste to it (maybe it was the tamarind caramel?? all three of us got that flavor!) and I was very disappointed."

  • "Good is pretty greasy and wasn't as good as we were expecting after all the rave reviews."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "Food was delicious, server was friendly, chatty and helpful. Only negative is that the space is much too loud, making conversation an effort."

  • "This is the type of hip restaurant that Boston has been waiting for. Really terrific service, and a very comfortable atmosphere that is fun and not the least bit stuffy. My wife and I were seated at a 2-person table pretty much in the middle of all the action and we felt like we still had enough privacy to have a conversation without having our neighbors seated next to us dipping their dumplings in our sauce. The food is adventurous and innovative, but definitely holds true to the basics of good food. It just tastes great. The fish tacos are OUTSTANDING and we also could have eaten about 10 pounds of the "asian-style" Brussels sprouts. We are really looking forward to going back soon."

  • "This is one of the best restaurants in Boston! We've eaten here many times and the food is always fantastic and consistent. The wait staff just couldn't be any better, very attentive without hovering. A couple of times I've emailed them about a particular dish and they've sent me the recipe...I just can't ask for more!"

  • "This was a great recommendation by friends. Truly "fun Chinese" experience. Sat at common table. The host was the most helpful and friendly person, who made this a positive experience from the get go. Menu choices are great - portions appropriate - price appropriate. What a gem"

  • "We have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while, and were not disappointed! Everything from service, to food, to wine, to dessert was excellent, and we even ordered an extra dish to take home! The brussel sprouts were excellent the next morning with egg, as our server suggested."

  • "This is a great restaurant and was full even though it was a Sunday night. Food is excellent and the staff were great. The only very slight criticism is that we waited 30 minutes for our table, even though we had booked. Our table was actually available but we weren't shown to it for some time. The host did make up for this by bringing us a complimentary dish and we had a great evening."

  • "Food was excellent but portion sizes were fairly small. Chef has really unique take on some classic asian (and american) dishes."

  • "One of my favorite spots in the South End. Great food, never disappointed, it's the place I bring new friends. They've added lobster egg foo yong to their menu, it was OUTSTANDING! Forget the gravy this was light and flavorful. Can't wait to go again."

  • "The food was absolutely fabulous. We had the hake (never had it before) - just delicious. Noodles were great and the quinoa was out of this world. Desserts were delicious. Service was friendly and helpful."

  • "My wife and I had dinner at M+C to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. It was our first visit and my wife is already talking about going back for her birthday (we hardly ever go to any restaurant more frequently than once or twice a year, let alone within one month). We had "The Pig Out Date" prix fixe from the Cheap Date Night menu and every item was better than the last. The spectacular taste, variety of flavors in each dish and way that each item complemented the others in the prix fixe made for a wonderful experience."

  • "Great small plates menu. Dishes were delicious and good for sharing."

  • "I am vegan and I went here with someone with a tree-nut allergy. They have special menus for both restrictions, and there were many yummy items we could both share. Since it's a small plate kind of place, we had lots of variety and the food was great. Some items were a bit too spicy for me (I think more wasabi than I typically like), but that's a personal taste issue--not the quality of the food. The service was great and it wasn't too noisy. We went at 5:45 on a weeknight and could find plenty of on-street parking too!"

  • "All the dishes at Myers and Chang are perfect for sharing, with just your partner it a group. And try all taste delicious with twists on traditional recipes. The chicken wings have zesty orange on the outside, the tea infused ribs fall off the bone, the dan dan noodles are spicy and fantastic (cold and hot), and there's amazing dumplings. The drink menu is good but not extensive, but there are a couple of unique drinks worth having."

  • "Stopped in for lunch and it was a great experience. Recipes are fresh and different and exciting. Had the F-bomb, highly recommended. This drink has a great presentation and you will have to perform a ritual with your server to get it. Very strong drink. Great time, can't wait to go back."

  • "We haven't been back to Myers and Chang for over a year (yes....we had a baby and nights out became rare) but as always it was great. The food is unique and the service is excellent. We love it here! The ginger chicken salad is superb and the fish tacos were delightful. We would always recommend this quirky place. It is loud but not overwhelming...probably not a great place for kids but such great food."

  • "We have been eating at M+C for years now and have always loved the service and food. They do a good job changing up the menu ever so often. One of the few places that you can go for gluten free asian food! The dan-dan noodles are by far the best here vs. any where else i have eaten them. Tofu buns and the wings are items you cannot miss either"

  • "I always look forward to coming here, whether for dinner or dim sum brunch, for the incredibly inventive and tasty pan-Asian dishes as well as for the great service and bustling atmosphere. For me, it all starts with exec chef Karen Akunowicz and her team in the open kitchen. I have to order dumplings, pork buns and tea-smoked ribs to get started and always get a banh mi (or two) when I come for brunch. Most recently at dinner, I really enjoyed their spin on fish tacos, spicy tofu and whatever they did with brussels sprouts to make them taste so amazing. Unlike many other restaurants, the flavors really pop here and you'll be sure to expand your culinary horizons (and have a lot of fun doing it)!"

  • "Myers & Chang's cheap date night is a wonderful way to have a full meal while getting to taste everything. I loved sharing with my friend, and we both thought everything was delicious, but had different favorites. I was in love with the chive dumplings, and she favored the dan dan noodles. We liked the sauces paired with the dishes, and thought there was plenty to go around without being totally stuffed. The concept of dish sharing is great, though sometimes difficult when you have a date who doesn't like the same things you do. That being said, there are plenty of dishes that support themselves (without having to rely on a side)."

  • "I went to Myers + Chang for their "Cheap Date Night" option, which serves a couple for $45. The pre fixe options were so fun and delicious! On top of that, our server was friendly and helpful when we had trouble choosing between a couple of options. The cocktail list was adventurous, as most drinks were unique takes on traditional options. The one I tried was one of the best cocktails I've had all year. I would definitely recommend this spot to friends without any reservations!"

  • "Excellent service but small restaurant (bar is standing room only and cramped no seats as you wait for your table) . Sitting near the open Kitchen at the food bar really interesting. The drinkscannot say enough about the Bloodlust Margarita's truly the best ) The apps are great with the hot and sour soup being fresh and refreshing not like what you eat at a regular restaurant it was fresh and very healthy tasting but flavorful. The potato scallion pancakes are anything but traditional they are excellent. Loved the dumplings and the noodles - some of the food was salty but overall great place y the service is exceptional every one is kind, attentive and makes you feel comfortable from the minute you set in"

  • "We are big j. Chang and Flour fans. The lobster foo yong and mussels were excellent. Everything else we had was very marginal, including scallion pancakes with no scallions. We sat at a table that was so dark you could not see anything. Not sure we would go back."

  • "Perfectly prepared Asian fusion dishes with modern and creative twists galore. This place is energetic and youthful, definitely feels like one of the hipper places in the city. I've been twice now, both for brunch, and was blown away both times. The Pork Belly Bao, Sweet and Sour Brussel Sprouts, Bacon and Egg Bon Me, and the Nirvana Chicken Congee are some of my favorites. The servers are all friendly and bright eyed, happy to talk about the restaurant and food with you. My single complaint about Myers+Chang, and it more of a critique than a complaint, is that their homemade soda's, which all sound amazing, leave a lot to be desired, but that's just my humble opinion. In summary: go, go right now."

  • "Hi, this restaurant in a new find for us. I'd heard of it but hadn't had a chance to try yet. We went for the "hot date" night, a fixed price menu for two. Food was pleasantly spicy, but still flavorful. Cheerful ambience. Friendly waitstaff. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu."
