We always enjoy our visit to Mye. We do reserve the restaurant for Special Occaions and everything is "Special" about Mye. On our last visit we were celebrating our Anniversary and were presented with an "Anniversary Dessert". That was very thoughtful and we enjoyed the dessert very much. We will continued to keep Mye as our Special Place.

When you go to the Mye Restaurant, you need to be prepared to dine, not just eat. The food is amazing and the service is wonderful, very friendly and attentive, but they don't hover. The one downfall is the length of time it takes for the food to arrive at the table. I realize the food is all freshly prepared, so that is a contributing factor to the time it takes to get the food to the table, but it seems it could be a little faster. That being said, the presentation was beautiful, the food tasted better than any Japanese food I've had before, and the portions were generous. Again, be prepared to dine...

Took my mother here for her birthday, and having lived in Japan in a fishing town I knew she had high expectations. She was not disappointed. We opted for a 8 piece chefs selection and decided upon the Price point of 100pp (starts at $85). There was 3 of us and with alcohol & Tip the bill came to $465. A bit on the pricey end but worth if you enjoy delicate authentic Japanese meal. We usually dine at Kaji in Etobicoke which charges 110-130pp; so this was not too far fetched. Service was impeccable. Will return!

This is the third time I have eaten at Mye and the restaurant is consistently excellent. Four of us had the tasting menu and one ate a la carte. Everyone left happy. I highly recommend the tasting menu, as there is a lot of variety of ingredients and flavours. Service is friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. Highly recommended.

The service was very disappointing. Arrived, with a reservation, and it went downhill from there. Took 1 hour from the time we ordered until our mains arrived. A table which was seated 15 minutes after our arrival had already been served their apps and mains and finished eating before our arrived. Food was good but, won't be going back any time soon if that is how it is going to be. Took friends there who had never eaten here, they will not be going back, they made it very clear.

If you're looking for food and ambiance is only mildly westernized and is closer to suburban Japanese, this is the place to go. I was very impressed with the quality of the food. The consistency across all the different cooking styles is exceptional. On the evening I was there, it was so close to perfect that only the sashimi stopped me from rating the food quality as outstanding. One of our selections was a vegetable tempura dinner and it's a long time since I've had anything so well done. Each piece was cooked to perfection, even though there were at least 7 different vegetables.

Normally we have had good service here - not sure if this is because of an ownership change. Our server was really slow - didn't bring items we ordered, including the sake. We had already had many of the items we ordered but then it was as if she completely forgot about us and after sitting for 40 minutes waiting for other items we ordered; sushi, sake and tea refills we decided to leave - then she handed us a bill with the extra sake on it plus at the wrong more expensive price - I'm hoping this was just our bad luck that night because otherwise the fish is excellent quality and we like the place but I would not be happy with that level of service in the future - could have just been our server.

It seems like every birthday the birthday boy/girl always chooses to celebrate at Mye! The food here is fantastic, service is unobtrusive but attentive and it has a true Japanese vibe...reminds me of many excellent restaurants in Kyoto and Tokyo for atmosphere. This is probably my favorite place to have fresh and truly excellent sushi...these are real sushi chefs who have undergone years of training and it really shows in the quality. Can't wait till my birthday so we can go again. (Also can't wait to try their new second location). Oh and did I mention the rice? Best quality rice I've ever eaten in a Japanese restaurant in Canada...a mark to their attention to quality and excellence.

With the proliferation of all-you-can-eat sushi places, the Mye reminds you of how good Japanese food can be. The shrimp and vegetable tempura was crisp, fresh and nicely seasoned (something many place forget to do). Sushi items were near perfect. Non-sushi fans raved over the delicate, tender and delicious beef and chicken dishes.

Everytime when I have Japanese customers, I take them to Mye restaurant. All of them say, "Great!!" As a Japanese,I think this restartant gives us authentic Japanese food. It is pity that some so called "Japanese restaurant " is not real. If you'd like to taste real dishes, I recommend that you should try Mye restautant. Also for me, this dishes and this price are reasonable. This time we orderd Mye special and it was excellent as always.

The food was OK, but the atmosphere and ambiance requires work. Overall decor needs to be revisited, carpeting, wall colors, furniture, lightning.... this place has enormous potential, but needs a serious refresher. Background music also needs to be improved, as it felt like being in an elevator.

I have to preface this review by saying I am OBSESSED with OMAKASE (Japanese chef tasting menu) and have been to many of the best restaurants in Toronto (Kaji, Nami, Hiro, Ja Bistro, Daisho) that offer it. I don't do AYE and will eat from the tasting menu when I can as it gauges very quickly the quality and skill of the sushi chef. With that said, we were very impressed. It was only $48 per person and all of this was very fresh and had unique flavours. They have a good sized Sake list, but no suggested pairings, however quite affordable as well. There was a OMAKASE option but because we made the reservation the day of, they needed more advance notice so this was the next best thing. I highly recommend it as it was a GEM in the 'burbs.

Made reservations for two on Saturday... Table was waiting for me when we arrived. Ordered the Mye Special Dinner for two... Expected the cold appetizers would be at room temperature, but they seemed a bit chiller (fridge-like temp)... Otherwise that the food was great!! The sushi and grilled fish was very good.... Tempura was what i expect... By the time the steak rolled around i was pretty full.. ice cream/fruit was like described... Service was friendly but during the meal the waitress forgot to come back to refill my tea.. They eventually realized and was much more attentive afterwards... Restaurant was busy with other parties, but the noise wasn't much of an issue... I'll come back .. maybe for the omakase or just for sushi..

I have been eating at The Mye for years. It truly is, in my opinion, the best Japanese restaurant in Toronto. I'd put it up there as one of the best in Canada, and I travel frequently. The Shokado dinner is my favorite, it's a taste of everything and is extremely satisfying. The sushi is well made and super fresh. The attention to detail is off the charts.

Had not been to Mye for years and chose to go there for a family birthday celebration. Remembered Mye as being an expensive but outstanding Japanese restaurant - we were very disappointed. Service was scattered and slow. The food was not worth the price. Tempura and rolls were very average - no different from the grocery store. Sushi was good. BBQ eel was terrible. There is much better Japanese food around and we will not return to Mye.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner before a movie at Mye Japanese, enjoying some splendid appetizers and fantastic mains. The menu is diverse, and the serving sizes are copious. The service was quick and attentive. The bill was much lower than anticipated. The only minor quibble about the restaurant is that the ambiance is quite forgettable, with small plain tables in a non-descript room. During our dinner some rather strange musaq filled the air. This is minor, however, and in what really mattered -- the food -- it delivered big. We will be return visitors.
