Mustards GrillAwesome food and locationGreat ambiance. Fantastic service. Phenomenal Pork Chop! Worth the drive and wait.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and ServiceWe usually stop here for luch when visiting Napa Valley. We were there for dinner on June 13th and had a great meal as always. Our server had a super friendly personality and made recommendations that suited our tastes perfectly. We really enjoyed our evening at Mustards.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA Napa Valley ClassicWe have been dining at Mustards Grill since it opened 30 years ago. The level of quality and service has remained the same over all these years. Bravo Cindy!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMustards was a highlight of NapaWe had two recs for Mustards before our trip, and they were spot on. My wife claims her RibEye steak is quite possibly the best steak she has ever had. I had the fish tostada of the day - also excellent. I am not normally a dessert person, but the chocolate hazelnut tart was to die for. We highly recommend for anyone heading to Napa.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe mac & cheese would beThe mac & cheese would be great if it was in a thick cheese sauce instead of a runny goo.
Lamb and hamburger were excellent. Nice smoky flavor.
The chocolate fudge cake was so dry (lots of cocoa powder), you had to drink to digest it. Not my style!6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFavoriteThis is our all-time favorite restaurant in the Napa Valley. We know we're in Napa from the minute we set foot inside Mustards! The best!6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTrendyNice food and good service. No wait with open table reservation. Noise level extremely loud but it's a hot spot for locals and visitors so it's to be expected. The calamari appetizer is fantastic.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed the ambience,Really enjoyed the ambience, wine and wonderful Mongolian Pork Chop.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGotta dine here!Mustard's Grill is a spectacular place to have a meal. Wait staff is friendly and knows a lot about the menu and even remembered that my friend was celebrating a belated birthday. The food was amazing and since we sat by the window, we were able to take in the
scenery. This is the first restaurant that I had ever been to that actually had the herb garden on display and allowed patrons to walk
through at their leisure. A+ :)6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVELYalways wonderful, for years and years we've enjoyed Mustards! a classic in the wine country!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWine country classicWe had lunch at Mustards with another couple while out wine tasting for the day. We needed a great place, that was relatively quick, but with distinctive food. Mustard's was the place. We bought the cookbook as well and it si now part of everyone's memory!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing! I need 6 stars! This was one of our favorite parts of our entire trip. It was amazing. The food was beyond fabulous. We tried a little bit of everything and finished it all! Outstanding! In addition to that, the service was fantastic. Our waitress, Sara G. was so sweet and knowledgeable about all the dishes. She made suggestions as we ordered and checked on us frequently. She had several other tables, but never seemed overwhelmed and stopped to talk to each table. I overheard one table trying to decide on wine so she sent James, the wine manager, over to help. He also seemed very knowledgeable about wine and was very helpful to the older gentleman who seemed like he could be a handful. My only regret is that I don't live closer!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat mealOur food was fabulous and our waiter was the best!!! Very friendly and you could tell he loves his job.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great mealMy wife and I have going to Mustard's since 1985 and have never had a bad meal or a bad experience. The good and the bad is that the menu is frequently changing; I love and miss the Duck in the 1000 Onion Sauce. However, the new duck dishes and the many others keep the menu as fresh as the the ingredients they use. Mustard's has a great combination of casual dining with white tablecloths. Add to that the extensive wine list served by the friendly and attentive waitstaff and you can't ask for anything more.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious!Mustards was a great place! We had delicious food and great service!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA wine country treat indeed! My wife and I just finished a wine tasting just in time to enjoy a quick lunch at Mustards Grill. We wanted to eat something light but at the same time we wanted to fully enjoy at least one of the unique food opportunities this provided. Visiting from Texas, we were told by many friends to go here and we loved it. We split the "The Ever-Popular Seafood Tostada" made with Swordfish the day we went and it was extraordinary in flavor. It was a perfect size for us to share at lunch. My wife also ordered the Mixed Green salad and the combination of these two things was just perfect! Our server was great as we told her we wanted to eat light and she agreed that what we had picked would be perfect as the Tostada was a great size to share.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food as it always is!I always enjoy eating at Mustards. The food is always good. It's amazing how they can prepare something as simple as brussel sprouts or chard and make it absolutely delicious.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMMustards - a wine country favoriteI have wanted to dine at Mustards for years, and this was my first experience. The food was excellent! I was very impressed with the chef's garden, especially when I saw the fresh greens in my salad. The desserts were over the top! The only down side was the noise level, which was quite high.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food, for a LouisianianGreat Pork Chop! Food was all good, they are famous for Pork Chop and it did not disappoint. Very large wine list.
Coming from Louisiana where we are used to great food and strong flavors, we were pleasantly surprised how good this was.
Great atmosphere. Some people slacks and collared shirt, some jeans, even a couple with shorts - wear whatever.
Overall very good! Would go there again.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Food, the staff wereAmazing Food, the staff were so great to us and we never felt rushed.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMMustards Grill is a must!Great food! The seafood tostada is amazing! You won't go wrong with Mustards.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMCindy's talent knows no boundsWe always eating at one of Cindy's restaurants. Mustards' was no exception. Lovely area, fantastic food, perfect service.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat but heavy lunchStopped at Mustards for lunch between wine tastings. Food was very good, but probably was a bit too much for lunch. Next time I am in the area I will come back for dinner.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGood energy, great foodMustard's is an excellent casual stop for Napa Valley. The food is excellent (particularly the pork chop) and the atmosphere is upbeat. Some tables lose some of the charm as they are in the middle of the restaurant, but overall the seating is good. A definite must-go for any first-time Napa Valley visitors.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat restaurantExcellent service. Relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely go again!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved this restaurantWish we had a Mustards here in NYC. Everything about it was wonderful. Cannot recommend highly enough.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMtoo loud !!!!.Everything could be perfect but it's so loud you could hardly hear your self.
This is Napa and not NY & we don't like noise.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMJust a fabulous spot to catchJust a fabulous spot to catch up with old friends and for food that goes Wow! We could not have had a better time.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPar for the courseIt was packed on Memorial Day (Monday) like most weekends - thanks to OpenTable we reserved a table 2 days early. I had the Mongolian pork chop which i just can't seem to pass up each time I am there. The first slice was suprisingly quite tough, dry and the temperature lukewarm at best - my first negative food experience at Mustards ever. The waitress hauled it away immediately and returned with a replacement literally within 2-3 minutes. It was hot, succulent and juicy just as always, the mashed potatoes creamy, and I like the sugar water they provide for my iced tea. The finest pork chop I have had anywhere; maybe someday I will venture deeper into the menu, but then again, maybe not....5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood Has SlippedSorry to say last two visits to Mustard's were disappointing.
Great spot with fantastic service but the food was not up to standard.
Mushy Mahi in the tostada on one visit and dry ribs the next time.
A little quality control is needed.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLunchWe had a great experience at Mustards. The wine was reasonable in price and the food was fantastic. Will go back for sure.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMCoulda been betterThe food was good though possibly not as good as the reviews indicate. For instance, the pork chop that is said to be the signature dish was overcooked on one side and wasn't as juicy as I had hoped. And then the caramel sauce on the chocolate dessert wasn't particularly special. Pretty, yes, but I doubt if they browned sugar in a skillet to do it. Having said that, the truck stop vibe was fun and our server, Mo, was terrific. So was the adjoining garden.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBEEN GOING FOR YEARS AND ITBEEN GOING FOR YEARS AND IT IS STILL THE BEST.BAR NONE, IN NAPA5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful! We visited Mustards for a special anniversary dinner and it was wonderful! The food was SO flavorful and delicious - everything from the starters (sweet corn tamales) to the main course (halibut/mashed potatoes for me, ribs for my partner)...and of course dessert (strawberry/rhubarb cobbler). I also discovered a favorite new Sauvignon Blanc! (Cade) Thanks for a wonderful memory!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWon't be dissapointedMongolian pork chop - the mustard makes this an interesting taste in your mouth!
Rabbit - very tasty and the curry and jasmine rice were perfect
Goat cheese appetizer - grilled bread was a nice touch. could have used more olive oil drizzle to soften it up and the sundried tomatoes were delish
Tart dessert with mile high brown sugar meringue - perfect way to top off the meal5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMTwo thumbs up, Mongolian Pork ChopGreat as always! Our third time, I am stuck in the. Mongolian pork chop. Always excellent! My wife had the quail. Nice stop for dinner after a day of wine tasting!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty adventureExcellent meal...the pork chop was incredible, the pork ribs delicious, and quail was wonderful. Lamb was ok...should have gotten the pork chop instead. Our waiter was wonderful.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodFood was great as was the service. Great experience all around. Loved this place.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Cindy Pawlcyn restaurants!I love the Cindy Pawlcyn restaurants, and Mustard's does not disappoint. This was my second time there (we took my boss out to lunch for his birthday) and the food and service was great, and we received a small dessert to share for his birthday. I'd recommend anyone to go there and try it out, you may come out with a new favorite.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMLegendary!!!!!!!This was not my first visit to Mustards and I'm sure it won't be my last. I intend to go every time I'm in the Napa area. As usual the food was outstanding. The service was a little different from the last time but still good. My last visit was in the fall and the restaurant was less busy. The owner was there and we had a nice little chat. I liked the personal touch. This visit was in May and the restaurant was a bit busier.
We were seated immediately. I had mashed potatoes, blanched Swiss chard, and black beans. My daughter had their famous pork chop and was overjoyed. When you in the Napa area you should stop by, but you'll probably need a reservation5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI was a bit hesitant to tryI was a bit hesitant to try Mustards, as the menu didn't look particularly interesting to me. However, the restaurant was very good. Really enjoyed the wide range of choices and the sense of humor inherent in the menu. Food was well prepared and tasty, service was attentive. My only complaint was the noise level - I was on vacation with my wife and parents, and my father was unable to hear any conversation the entire evening.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFlawless Feast in NapaThe experence of going to Mustards is as deep and rich as the Napa Valley soil itself. Without going into too much detail everyone should go there at least once, but be careful it may be addicting! The sign says it all- "Sorry everything's delicious". This is one of the best stops for lunch in between wine tasting or a casual afternoon. I was worrined about taking our twin infants, however we really wanted to go. The staff accomodated our needs and were first class. No one seemed to mind them there (all having a great time!) so were were finaly able to enjoy ourselves. Thanks Mustards!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMoutstandingFood was phenomenal, servers were all happy and efficient. Not much else to say5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome LunchIn all the years we've lived in the Bay area(Oakland) and driven to Napa, we'd never been to Mustard's Grill. Why did we wait so long?!? We're foodies and many times we go out to a well-reviewed restaurant only to be disappointed. We were anticipating maybe being disappointed again but Mustard's was absolutely wonderful. The food delicious, the service attentive but not overbearing, and lovely views of the garden. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday but we will not need a special occasion to go back again and again.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious! TheThe food was delicious! The service even better! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Great location after & during winery tours & tasting. *****5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our Napa Valley FavoritesOur party of four enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Mustard's Grill. The selections of wines by the glass was terrific as each of us wanted a different wine. Two of us had salad and the other two had soup. All were pleased. then one couple split the 1/2 pound burger, one of us had the Mongolian Pork chop and the remaining person had Tamales. Great flavors, good portions. We will be back on our next trip to Napa Valley.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst TimerIn Napa for first time. Wanted some good food in a relaxed atmosphere after day of tasting. Mustards hit the spot. Signature pork chop was as good as advertised, but the hangar steak was a true find! Woodgriled, medium rare to perfection with a tomato onion jam. Awesome.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticA fantastic dining experience. Staff was friendly, our waiter was knowledgeable, personable, and very competent. Food was spectacular. We had great conversations with the waiter, the table to the left and to the right, just a great place to have a meal and enjoy yourself.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThoroughly enjoyed Mustards GrillI made a 7:00pm reservation but arrived at 7:20pm thinking it was a 7:30pm reservation. (too many reservations made for the week and maybe too much wine during the day) But the hostess was extremely nice and said "no problem, if you give us 5 minutes I will have a nice table by the window". The place was packed and she could not have been more accommodating.
Our server was great and the food was excellent. The wine manager recommended a very nice Pinot Nior when I asked for something lighter than the big Cab's we were had been drinking during the day. Service very efficient but not rushed.
There were local couples on both sides of us, which always is a great sign. Mustards Grill is highly recommended!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Mongolian Pork Chop isThe Mongolian Pork Chop is to die for. The duck confit equally good.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
