Diner Reviews
  • "This was our second visit to Mustards....it was soooo noisey! Food was just average (except for the onion rings!). We are vegans and there was little to offer us - a few items with no cheese would be very nice. Some outdoor dining would add a lot of Mustards."

  • "Have never been in the 30 years I have been coming to napa and was so amazed at the food. Outstanding"

  • "A favorite and always wonderful. Go everytime I am in Napa"

  • "The food was fantastic, as usual, but they seated a large very loud group next to us. Everyone felt very squished into a small space. It ruined the ambuance. The waitress also elbowed my boyfriend in the head by accident and he was just sipping his wine which caused it to spill. She offered a short apology but I felt she should have offered a free glass of wine or desert. She was a little flippant about it. After I talked up the restaurant he was not too impressed."

  • ". . . with food no one can beat. Perfect device too. When the menu is creative, the food is fresh and delicious, and the service is fun you have a place you can't miss."

  • "We had the Mongolian Pork Chop, which was outstanding, as usual. Finished up with a slice of Key Lime tort, also outstanding."

  • "The food was great, no doubt about it. Unfortunately our server had little interst in our table, little interest in telling us much about the food or tending to us at all. We felt herded through. Disappointed."

  • "My wife had a chicken sandwich which was very good. I had the signature dish, the Mongolian pork chop, which was very good."

  • "Terrific. The rabbit was exceptional. Only complaint was waitress being a tad aloof but maybe it was an off day for her."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "We ordered a 1/2 bottle of white wine. Unfortunately, it arrived at the table at a temperature much too warm for white wine. Our server quickly remedied that by putting the bottle in a bucket of ice, but it took a bit long to get correct temperature."

  • "This restaurant came recommended to us, but we were disappointed. We had a group of 6 and they put us right by the washrooms. Five of us ordered the famous pork chop but everyones was tough. One person ordered the ribs but they were far too smokey for him to eat."

  • "I really enjoyed my meal at Mustards. I got the chicken with lemon and garlic. It was a generous 1/2 chicken portion. The chicken was beautifully browned and nice and juicy inside. There were 4 or 5 cloves of roasted garlic (delicious on the wonderful crusty bread they serve). The chicken is served with garlic mash and string beans; however, I chose to have double string beans. There were beautiful yellow and green beans in the light and lovely lemon sauce. I couldn't finish it all, so home it went with me. My mom had the calamari with curry slaw. A very generous portion of slaw, but the way it was served was somewhat overwhelming; the calamari was buried underneath a huge mountain of the slaw. I have to say the slaw is fantastic."

  • "Have driven by Mustards many times. Finally got reservations but I'm guessing you have to Plan ahead further to get 7 or 8 o'clock. The food surpassed all of my expectations. I had Lamb chop and my wife had sea bass, both were exceptional. The service was also outstanding our waiter was present without being hovering. Mustards is known for their wine list but took my own and the corkage was reasonable at $15. The creme brulee was pretty standard. Over all we will not fail to visit here on each of our future visits to Napa Valley."

  • "My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary celebration. We've been to Mustards a few times before and loved it. When we entered (with reservations), I mentioned it was our anniversary and I was asked if we like "bubbly". I said yes. We werE immediately seated and our served brought us each a glass of champagne...nice! We asked for the onions rings as a starter. My husband ordered crab cakes for us to share. We each got one although pictures of the same dish I saw later had 3 crab cakes/ order! For the main, my husband ordered the hanger steak and I ordered the fresh Sea Bass. They were both good, not excellent. I usually order the pork chop which I love...wait staff is exceptional. Signed menu when we left!"

  • "Everyone at our table had a great meal and really enjoyed it except me. The ambiance is good but it is a bit live and hard to have a conversation. The room is appointed well. I had the ribs which were burnt, dry and tasteless. I would like to go back and try something else, but it will be a long time"

  • "We had a very good mid day meal of burgers, and finished it off with a piece of the lemon meringue pie. Service was excellent and everyone's burger was cooked to order. Couldn't ask for more. A very enjoyable experience."

  • "Not what I expected. They had great comfort food and special dishes for every taste. They have a great wine list but didn’t order. However, I did have a specialty SF Ale named "Prohibition" which was great. We got great service and was asked by a manager if we were enjoying ourselves."

  • "We could only get really late reservations and there was nothing available earlier. Went ahead and came in early and sat at the bar. The bartender served us and was very knowledgable about the menu. Service was smooth and the food was great. One of the best meals we had in Yountville for the week."

  • "The staff is friendly, courteous and accommodating. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively. Mustards has a great vibe that you clearly sense from the moment you walk through the door. The food is top notch, and although it's not inexpensive, it's reasonable when compared to other restaurants in the Valley. I look forward to returning."

  • "A good friend told us not to pass up Mustard's when we go to Napa Valley. We just returned from our first trip to Napa and our friend was right on! The food was great (you must try to home made potato chips will the bleu cheese dipping sauce) and the people were really friendly. It was such a great experience that we went back a second time during a 3-day trip. You won't be disappointed."

  • "Outstanding food. Everything we had was delicious. My ribeye was one of the best steaks I've had. Paired it with a cab flight. The lemon tart was unique with the brown sugar meringue. A must. The wine list is a binder of options! Service was outstanding. However, the noise level was high. Will definitely recommend to friends."

  • "Such an easy drive from Walnut Creek to Mustards! All three of us ordered the tamales, tostado (yum!) and we shared the amazing onion rings. We loved everything from the "will do anything for you hostesses" to the waiters anderson specially the food."

  • "We took our foodie teenage son to dinner here to celebrate an excellent report card and it exceeded my expectations! Barbara gave us the relaxed service we were looking for so that we could really enjoy each course. I wanted to have the pork chop again the next day...problem was...I didn't have leftovers. I have been to Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen so I should have known how awesome this would be. I would recommend and go there again the next chance I get!"

  • "The host was rushed and oblivious. We checked in and shooed us to the bar. After 10 minutes we found 2 seats together so we stayed and dined there. The bartender who served us was phenomenal. The hostess after we told her we were staying at the bar, said out loud later, where is that stupid 4:00 reservation? (That was us) no clue, even after we reached out twice to her... Good luck, guess you don't need to make it personal anymore when you're that successful."

  • "We make an annual trip to Napa and with many restaurants to choose from, we always go back to Mustards. The food is outstanding, service is friendly and the wine is always good. Not to mention the beautiful gardens and setting."

  • "Had lunch here on the weekend based on many good reviews and a recommendation from a family member. Not sure what all the hype is about. This restaurant is good, not great. Service was adequate. Stressed out hostess and our waiter forgot to put in our order. He was nice enough to offer us an appetizer on the house while we waited but nevertheless, quite disappointing. I had the ribs which were ok. They came with cheese/jalapeno sticks that was overcooked and as such I had to ask for new ones. So, what is all the hype about anyway??"
