A word from Mustards Grill
Aged for almost 30 years in the Napa Valley… Since its beginnings as a local gathering spot over 29 years ago, Mustards Grill has blossomed into a destination for all who appreciate memorable food, superb wines and a warm welcome. Mustards food is Chef/Owner Cindy Pawlcyn’s mix of American regional dishes with global influences. The list of “Way Too Many Wines” represents the best from appellations throughout California and the New World. Mustards is an American Grill, featuring flavors from around the globe. The wood-burning grill produces such favorites as Cindy’s famous Mongolian Pork Chop, chipotle –rubbed Quail, and the ½ pound Niman Ranch hamburger. The oakwood smoker fills the restaurant with aromas of BBQ baby back ribs and tea-smoked Peking duck. Specialties include Seared Ahi Tuna on sesame crackers and Crispy Calamari tossed with curried slaw. The eclectic wine list features hard to find gems from California, the American Northwest, & South America.Continued

  • "A number of people had recommended that we try Mustards and we are so glad we did! Yum! Loves the mushroom soup, the artichoke, and the short rib special."

  • "We love, love, love Mustard's Grill. It simply is not the Wine Country without a meal here. The food, service and ambiance are all incredible. It is hard to single out what we like best, but if I had to I would say the food is always an amazing treat. It is beautifully presented and always fresh, innovative and delicious. On our last visit, for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, the meal set the tone for a perfectly wonderful Wine Country day. It was sunny, the staff were friendly and courteous as always, the food was simply perfect and it was just another flawless experience. We drive here from the Bay Area, an almost 2 hour drive, and it is totally worth it every single time. What else can I say? It's the best."

  • "We visit napa once a year and make Mustards a must stop. Food is always amazing and service is always excellent. Make a reservation ahead of time because they are always packed. Recommend the pork chop, the lamb burger or the rabbit bolognese! Great wine list and fun ambiance."

  • "Food and wine were very good. Only complaint was waiter was a little pushy trying to get us to order more."

  • "Good place to stop at if you plan on being in the Napa valley. Expect crowds so you need a reservation for any meal."

  • "We have been coming to Mustard's for over 25 years. The food has been incredible and the service outstanding. However, our last 2 most recent visits have been disappointing. Each time we had to ask for bread while other tables seated after us had received bread. Water came after we initially asked, but not again until we had to ask multiple times. We really enjoyed the hangar steak as well as the crab cake appetizer. Would love to come back but, with so many other great restaurants in the area, it is difficult to recommend Mustard's."

  • "Coming from Detroit, we are in Napa Valley just once per year. We have our favorite wineries and restaurants as well. Mustard's Grill is always on the list, and never disappointing. The cuisine, the service and the drinks are fabulous, all of them. Brunch, lunch and dinner are always a fun and delicious event at Mustards!"

  • "The Mustard Grill was one of our best meals while in Napa. Ribs were very tasty and dessert was amazing."

  • "The food was pretty good - not special, but the ambience was nice. Unfortunately, what stood out the most was how fast everything was. Food came fast and furious and the check was dropped immediately. Seating through dessert was less than 1.25 hours. Would not recommend."

  • "The Mongolian pork chop was amazing. They serve your bread on the table without a plate. Be careful because you may see other people's hair on the table cloth. I would prefer to have the bread on plate to prevent from eating someone's hair."

  • "Nice place, delicious food, excelent service and a good price as well. A perfect place to finish a night at Napa Valley!"

  • "I always stop here for lunch in Napa Valley. It can get noisey though, especially if there is a bridal party in the restaurant. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow off the mark. A reservation is essential on the weekends!"

  • "For at least 25 years I've wanted to experience this restaurant. Finally to celebrate our 15 year anniversary I got to pick our Napa dining. I can't say enough about what a great time we had, and said that I had to wait for so long. We started with drinks at the bar, and then shared different courses so we could try as much food on the menu."

  • "We always come here, I love the rabbit, but this time had a spicy quail with wonderful couscous, which I don't normally like. All the food was terrific and this time we sat on the "porch", which, though pretty noisy, was sunny and pleasant."

  • "This is our favorite restaurant in the Napa Valley. We always look firward to dining there. Great service, food wine and ambience. The menu has great variety. We have never been disappointed!"

  • "We had the best time and LOVE going to Mustard's! The food is always great and Alice is the best server there! We had dinner and then went back for lunch 2 days later! Only wish they had a brunch menu but all in all it was terrific. We will definitely always visit Mustard's Grill while in Napa/Yountville FOR SURE!!"

  • "We stopped by Mustard's on a day trip to Napa Valley. Having eaten their many times years ago, we had fond memories of the restaurant. The current Mustard's bares little resemblance to the original. Our server was simply going through the motions. We had to ask him about the specials, request refills of drinks, ask to have dirty plates removed, etc. Our salads were doused in oil with little acid or flavor in the dressing. The smoked duck was tough and chewy and plated with grilled polenta in a watery, bland sauce. Yuk! The creme brulée was fine but nothing special. A waste of money and calories. There a too many wonderful options for us to ever go back."

  • "We heard a lot about this place and was excited to eat there. Location was great and the place has a fun upscale truck stop feel. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but got (and split) the hangar steak and their fish special. Both were tough and actually had to use my steak knife to cut the fish. And it wasn't cheap so I expected higher food quality. Maybe we caught them on an off night."

  • "The food and service was good, but I was expecting a little more. I had the lamb special; it was prepared nicely (medium rare) but a little tough. My wife had a salmon dish which again was good but not especially creative or different."

  • "Mustard's is a great place to stop for lunch on a wine tour (if you have a reservation). The noise level is a bit much and the entrance area jammed with people. We were seated right away and the chicken sandwich we ordered was delish, served up with homemade chips. I would like to go back and try some items on the dinner menu."

  • "Loved the food the first time (2 years ago... The hostess was super smug by that was easy to forget after the incredible food), but this time when I asked for medium well and got a dry, well done steak, the stodgy waitress is like, "You asked for medium well, right? That's medium well." And then out of obligation follows it up with a reluctant, "Do you want me to take it back?" I said no, but wish I had said, "Well, apparently I don't have any ground to do so 'cause I don't know what I'm talking about." Also, I had noted that this was an anniversary dinner... Didn't matter!"

  • "I have owned the Mustards Grill cookbook for years and never had the opportunity to go. It did not disappoint. From the minute we drove up to the attractive, friendly looking restaurant we knew we were in for a treat. it was both relaxing and delicious. Our waitress was knowledgable and warm and friendly. ..just like the restaurant. Wish we lived closer. Could see this as a place for Sunday suppers!"

  • "As always. Great except for the Reuben gone wrong. Too greasy on the bread and no Russian dressing flavor. Stick wither the things you really do well and leave the Reuben's to the great delis."

  • "Have not been here for approx 20 years, and was as good as we remembered it. Service was friendly and most helpful. Ribs were great, but needed more sauce. A little dry, but they brought more when requested."
