Located in the elegant Adelicia building by Music Row, Music City Tippler is completely original in its concept, design and atmosphere. The drink menu features refined classic cocktails as well as inventive new libations. Bar favorites include “Mule Variations,” a choice of spirit with fresh citrus juice and house-made ginger beer, and Nashville’s first and only selection of draught cocktails – deliciously crafted cocktails served on tap. Executive Chef Nathan Gifford has developed a menu with everything from bar snacks to fresh salads and Nashville original entrees. The space is composed of original architectural elements – a 100-year-old mahogany bar (rumored to have been frequented by Al Capone), a 300-year-old Italian painting, old railroad ties, walls covered in wood from salvaged water towers and a stage built from a 120-year-old barn.   • "Dined at Tippler for the 3rd time recently. Previous times (months ago), we really enjoyed it. This time, not so great. Our server was new & very undertrained. She knew very little about the menu (e.g. described the Chopped Vegetable Salad as "basically just chopped up yellow, red & bell peppers". The menu is now VERY small-6-7 small plates (basically bar food), 3 salads & 3 burgers. Food tasted great, just not enough to choose between. One meal arrived 30 min after the others. Wine list is also very limited-1 choice per type of wine. We MIGHT try Tippler again but, if the menu & service doesn't improve, we will regretfully take it off our list for dinner out, but would probably still go there for drinks because the ambience is so great."

  • "The menu is quite limited... a few app options, a few salads and a few panini's but what was served was delicious! The grilled chicken panini was great. I was there with a friend. There were two bachelorette parties there in the same area but we were still able to carry on a conversation without screaming at each other. Overall fun atmosphere. I would go back to have drinks on one of the plush red sofas next time."

  • "The ambience is by far spectacular and we love the location. The food was good but the only dish to rave about was the cobbler. The service was fair, our server seemed to be overwhelmed with larger tables. We will try Tippler again, we are just hoping for better service. The hostess was lovely and very polite, so our greeting was pleasant as well!"

  • "We went for drinks and apps before dinner at another location. The drinks are different but not so different that they aren't good. There are a lot variations on original drinks and our server was very informed without being snotty. The fried pickles were delicious and were the bar nuts. We went on the earlier side so we had the whole place practically to ourselves. It apparently is much more of a late night place."

  • "My parents were in town and this was the perfect spot for Mother's Day. The food was delicious and my parents loved it. Great special on mimosas' and mothers eat free. Will definitely come back just for a regular evening. "

  • "Tippler was a bit disappointing. We went for Mothers Day Brunch and we were sat at a table by ourselves upstairs, there was good and bad to that, it was private, but very dark. Someone turned up the lights, didn't really help. Window table would be better. As far as food, I had the Shrimp and Grits, I asked the waitress if they were spicy. (sometimes it can be to much) She said, "no one has complained" and she did not think they were spicy at all. Well, yes they the dish is spicy...if not a fan of spice order an alternative. Someone in our party ordered the quiche and fruit it was very good. Someone else ordered the cobb salad it was tasty as well. Lastly, had pineapple mimosa's they were devine. Will give another try. "

  • "This was our second visit to the Tippler and was for dinner on a Friday evening. Our first visit was for a Sunday brunch, which was excellent. Our food items at dinner were all very good - cooked perfectly and tasty. We were particularly fond of the pimento cheese crap dip appetizer. Our service was oustanding and the ambiance is excellent. Our only complaint is that the dinner menu was very limited. Our server explained that the restaurant had just changed its menu and was in the process of "ramping up" the menu. So, hoepfully the limited selections will be short-lived. All in all, a very good dining experience and certainly worth a visit. "

  • "The current chef just updated the menu. It is not huge, but everything we had was excellent. The chicken and biscuit appetizer was a winner, and the grits were the best I've had in a restaurant in a while. On the surface the food is gastro pub fare with southern/Nashville roots, but it is creative and modern. It is not a heavily vegetarian menu, but vegs are more than welcome and happily accomodated. The craft cocktails were outstanding."

The ambiance was really nice. . . the menu wasn't very extensive, but that is because they make everything from scratch and in house. . . what we did have, crab dip and duck-fat french fries was delicious though. Just a little hard on the stomach (very greasy!) So don't expect to get a healthy meal when you get here!"

  • "I really liked the Tippler. The atmosphere was great and our server was Wonderful! He was funny and attentive. But I was disappointed in the food. The crab dip was really good and the drinks were great. But I ordered the Pineapple marinated Hanger Steak and it was just ok. The ends were even kind of burnt (probably due to the sugar in the marinade). The potatoes it came with had no seasoning. To have such a limited menu and for the price I expect the food to be great. I will go back for drinks but I probably won't ever go back for dinner."

  • "My wife and I ate here 6 months ago and had what we thought was some of the best food we tasted in Nashville. Upon our return, we discovered the menu had changed...gone were the best scallops I ever ate and the Caesar salad lost all of it's flavor. We had friends join us and we all loved the atmosphere, but the food did not hold up to what we had told them in advance. Thankfully, the black bean hummus appetizer was excellent ... and the drinks were great. Very knowledgable bartender. WOULD GO BACK IN A MINUTE FOR DRINKS, but wish they returned to the old menu."

Very bland and mostly under seasoned. They have the makings of a great little menu, but if it's going to be great, they need to really work on it in the kitchen."

  • "Love the atmosphere, waiter was very friendly. Great choice of sparkling wines by the glass. Menu is very limited but the food is delicious. We were a little disappointed this time, though - they did not offer a dinner/side salad, only a Caesar. So I ordered the Caesar, which did not come. When our dinners were served, my hangar steak was on a bed of Caesar salad instead of the mashed potatoes and green beans described on the menu. They did give us a break on the bill because of their mistake."

The menu doesn't have a huge selection but the restaurant is willing to work w/ u if u wanna mix it up! We booked an early dinner reservation (6:30) and ended up staying til 3am! Yikes! Needless to say, we had a ton of fun and will be going bk! Grt spot for dinner and party afterwards! Make sure u visit down stairs for dj and dance post meal!"

  • "So this was a great find. We had a great meal and great drink experience. I would definatelly suggest this to anyone. However, we did have one issue to be aware of. Basically, they brought out our salad and entree out at the same time and really found nothing wrong with it. Granted they don't usually serve appetizer salads but it still was a bit of a bummer that they came out at the same time. Overall though, GREAT FOOD and drinks."

  • "The actual venue is awesome. Nice set up and ambiance is fun and fitting for Nashville. The food leaves something to be desired. The chicken was dry, the salmon was overlooked, and the burger was not worth the price. The place has potential but I personally could of cooked better at home and saved the thirty dollars. If you're going to ask for a somewhat pricey dinner you have to deliver and this place did not. There are multiple other places in Nashville you can get your money's worth for but the Tippler is not one of them."

  • "I'm not sure if the Tippler is focused more on the bar scene and gearing towards the younger crowd (because the bar was fabulous) with it's late night menu and fancy drinks, but if it wants to keep people coming around, it needs to work on its food. I had the shrimp and grits and it was very bland. Even though it had fried okra and mushrooms in it, It tasted like I was eating marinara sauce from the jar. There was waaayyy too much sauce on it and it was a very strange combination of things. Plus, the shrimp came on a skewer and they were overcooked. It was just bad all the way around. My boyfriend had the burger and fries and he said it was just "okay" The food wasn't great but I'd go back to try out their late night menu and drinks."

  • "I do not know what the hype is all about. We gave the Tippler a second chance after going there for drinks and had an Old-fashioned made with Sprite. Our second experience, the drinks were great this time, however once we were seated it took forever to get a server to take our order. The food was mediocre at best. The steak was good, but nothing better than what I could get at an Outback Steakhouse. Not worth $28. And if you are going to put Chicken Biscuits on your menu in the south, they better rock, not taste like rocks."

  • "My husband and I had reservations to dine with another couple who, unbeknownst to us, invited three others to join us. We did not have a reservation for so many people and there were no tables left in the dining area to accommodate us all. The management could have easily left it at that, but instead they opened their private dining room upstairs to us last-minute and assigned us a server. It was not a convenient situation for the restaurant nor the server (up and down those steps all night!), but they went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant dining experience. The food, cocktails, and service were wonderful. We will definitely be back!"

  • "The waiter harassed my friend about her license when it was her 21st birthday making it a really bad beginning to the night. I even spoke with the restaurant beforehand about bringing out any type of dessert with a candle and they seemed very unreceptive to making it a special night. If I come back, it will not be in a large group."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful. So detailed I could look at it all day. The side dishes were great. My $30 prime rib was barely edible, which is why I don't recommend this place. Our server wasn't too friendly either. My husband ordered a drink, which he mispronounced, and she made fun of him. Then I explained I will just have water because I am pregnant and she insulted me. Not exactly a positive experience. I don't blame the restaurant for the valet but park yourself and save the money."

  • "Attended the Vaudeville New Years event here with a group of friends, which included a special preset menu. Got the scallops, filet, and chocolate mousse dessert...all were fantastic. Read some negative reviews regarding the food before going but the New Years menu was enjoyed by all in my party. The restaurant itself was well decorated and the ambiance was exciting. People dressed the part and the burlesque dancers/fire breathers made for good entertainment. Table service was surprisingly good given the volume. After dinner we moved to the bar area which was quite crowded. Despite the crowd, we had no problem getting drinks and the bartenders were faster than most I've experienced in Nashville. Will go back in the future for sure."

  • "Tippler's been on my radar for awhile and their special themed NYE event with Music City Burlesque seemed a great chance to check them out. Nobody who worked there seemed to know how the event was going work. Dinner altogether was 'meh' and way overpriced. The scallop appetizer was the only highlight - cooked perfectly and the accompanying flavors and presentation were beautiful. The filet was boring and was overshadowed by the potatoes that came with it (yes I said potatoes). The pana cotta was very good but the brownie was cold, gross and inedible. Drinks were good but overpriced and didn't have a description on the menu. Oh and the show didn't work. Left before midnight to find someplace better to ring in the new year."

  • "Didn't know there was a pre-fixe menu, ended up paying 110 / person. We had a 6:30pm reservation and we didn't get seated until 7pm. Salad was extremely small and underdressed, bouillabaisse had about 5 clams and mussels, 3 of which weren't open, steaks weren't prepared properly and dessert was just not good. Didn't ask us if we wanted coffee and almost wanted to rush us out. Party didn't start until about 10pm. It was advertised as a burlesque party but we were only able to watch the VIP room on TV with performers very occasionally making appearances in the overcrowded front room. Music was rarely played, with periods of no music and some songs were even played twice! Everyone left after midnight."

  • "$15 Chardonnay? Seriously? $4/glass too much. Hummus. It was a portion fit for my four-year old. $2 too much. Chicken sub veg of day (green beans and corn). Green beans and corn is not a foodie pairing. And it was so buttery and salty, we could not eat it. $2 too much. We could not believe that we spent $100 on this dinner. My wife started crying she was so upset. We chose to not come back instead of chatting with mgmt. I may be back only for drinks if there is a company event that I am requires to attend."
