  • Catering: We offer off site catering for groups from 10-400 people. Catering is available anywhere in the Anchorage area. From weddings to corporate receptions we can do it all.
  • Private Party Facilities: Muse is a great place to host a private party. The entire restaurant can be booked evenings from Sunday- Tuesday and can seat up to 64 people for a sit down dinner and 100-125 for receptions. At lunch, we can accommodate groups up to 12 guests. We have audio-visual capabilities for presentations. During the Summer months, the patio is available for private functions up to 50 people(32 seats).

A word from Muse
Located in the new Anchorage Museum, Muse offers contemporary cuisine featuring Alaskan seafood and local produce. The atmosphere is very modern with space for large groups. During the summer months patio dining overlooking an "urban" birch forest is available. The bar features creative cocktails, a selection of microbrews and fine wines. We offer a full lunch menu from 11am-3pm. From 3 till closing we feature an "Amuse" menu featuring small plates, pairings with creative cocktails, wine flights and microbrews.Continued

  • "While our visit for First Friday Night was the usual excellent food while listening a pretty good live band, we sadly learned that the Marx Brothers Contract is up this week. I would guess few would argue that Marx Brothers is the best dining and catering outfit in town. They are being replaced by Nana Management Services - or one of the Nana Companies. The Marx Brothers shoes are HUGE shoes to fill; I hope NMS can fill them. From experience I know that the low bid is not always or necessarily the best bid. Good luck to NMS..."

  • "My friend and I enjoyed drinks and appetizers before a Performing Arts Center performance. The Muse has a nice selection of wines, a full bar and fun specialty drinks. Salads and appetizers are delicious."

  • "We found out when we dined last Thursday that Muse's last day is, I think April 11th or thereabouts. They were underbid by NANA who will be replace Muse. Bummer."

  • "We usually really like this restaurant, but this time I was a little disappointed. My Kobe burger was well done even though I asked for Med-Rare and it looked like the thin, frozen burgers you buy at the grocery store. The beet salad was excellent, though. The drinks very good although they were out of Lillet Blanc so they could not make some of the drinks."

  • "I love the aesthetic atmosphere with a wall of windows looking out across the museum plaza. The food is generally quite good; we especially love the eggplant pate appetizer (can't remember the exact name) which is enhanced by kalamata olives and peppercinis. Our main complaint is that the noise level tends to be rather high, especially if you are seated at one of the center tables. The service is also a bit slow during busy times but once our order was placed, the food arrived promptly."

  • "So far I've only heard good things about Muse, which is why we decided to eat there. However, despite the reputation I wasn't impressed. The server was wonderful, but the food was flat. My partner ordered the Kobe Caprese Burger, which wasn't particularly notable. I ordered the baby back ribs, which were tough and basted in an off tasting jerk sauce. The sweet potato fries that came as a side for both dishes were soggy--in all honesty I think we both would have been more satisfied with a burger and fries from any of the fast food restaurants in the area. Also, the server up sold the table next to us on the specials only to come back 10 minutes later and tell them they were out of both of them on a Saturday night. Two thumbs way, way down."

  • "Muse has an upscale atmosphere with moderate prices. Located in the Anchorage Museum, in downtown Anchorage the restaurant has a hip vibe, with clean modern style. The bar features house-made infused vodkas and rum. The menu includes a few vegetarian options. The Kobe burger is very reasonably priced."

  • "We went for a Valentines dinner a day early. We had heard great things about this place and we're not disappointed, except for one item. The good first. Service was very good and attentive. The bar menu was excellent, with several creative cocktails. The Vesper and Mango Mojito were outstanding. The Crab Cakes fantastic, light and fresh with lots of crab. The Steelhead catch of the day was perfectly cooked and creatively served. The Steak Oscar was fantastic too. The filet was perfectly cooked, the crab leg piece large and delicious. The sauces were quite well done and the garnish was nice and perfectly seasoned. The only negative was the Caesar Salad. The lettuce was soggy and way over dressed, the parmesan was just dumped on top ."

  • "The bar was lively and you had to pass through the middle of them all. The band was good, and loud, great for the bar people but the band was at the other end of the restaurant,cozied in with the dinners. I'll go back, the band usually isn't there when I am. And the Museum is right next door."

  • "A friend of mine recently came back into town from school, and my family and I made it a point to meet her for lunch. We wanted to try someplace we had never been before, but a place that was a little more modern and clean in comparison to a lot of other local establishments (not that I don't enjoy those places either!) We decided upon Muse for lunch and made a reservation. As we arrived the place was practically empty, but with the panoramic window view, you could see outside in conjunction with a lot of natural light come through. The food was eclectic, but still safe for those who aren't willing to try something too daring. Presentation was beautiful and our server was not only informative, but genuinely friendly. All around wonderful."

  • "The music volume of the piano and trumpet was so loud that our waiter had to raise his voice and holler the specials and we had to the same with each other at the table. That was very awkward. Suggest if they have a microphone, they dispense with it's use. You don't need it that loud in a small space while people are dining or sharing a drink. It isn't a nightclub."

  • "Celebrated our 17th Anniversary here and had a great time. The ribs were excellent and the filet mignon was so tender, it could've been cut with just my fork. Nice atmosphere, too. Love the look and the aid-back style."

  • "We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday. Waited a long time for our food and then came out for 2 people with a long wait until the final 2 were served. Handed us our check and never asked if we wanted dessert. When someone asked for a dessert menu, it took awhile and then they said they were out of 3 of the listed desserts and had substitutes for one but no chocolate dessert. Despite being told it was a birthday, did nothing special to note it. Also, on the food, they do not seem to have changed their menu in any way for over a year."

  • "As usual, the food was outstanding. We ordered three courses. And, with each course, the server's assistant said" Oh your dishes haven't been removed " (from the last course) while she stood with the next course to serve. The main server was friendly, and professional but just too busy to give us any attention once our order was taken. Each time we've been it has been this way-servers seem too rushed. And, this is the second time we've been that I have asked for a specific garnish for a drink, something that they have and was promised but it came, without it. If as much attention to detail was present with the service, as is with the food, there would never be an empty table in this restaurant. I rarely give negative reviews."

  • "It was the first visit for all of the people at my table. I was promptly and politely greeted when I walked in and quickly seated at my table. I was sat at one of the round tables somewhat close to the band which made me nervous that it might be too loud to enjoy conversation with my guests. Before I knew, there was a fresh glass of water in front of me and an offer of a drink. All in all, the food was great, the atmosphere was great, the band was great and the volume was perfect. I would especially like to acknowledge the friendly and professional serving staff. We will all be back, and as soon as possible."

  • "Having never dined at Muse before, I was pleasantly surprised at the experience. The food was expertly cooked and artfully presented. The flavors, however, were a little bland. I expected more "avant grade" fare as I was dining at a museum, but was not disappointed by the quality. In fact, I returned the following day with another friend who also was pleased by the experience. She too, thought the food a bit bland. I will return again, and would have no reservations referring people to dine here."

  • "Their entertainment is always great when it is entertainment night, especially First Friday. The wait-staff is friendly, knowledgeable, quick, and non-obtrusive. The food is among the best-prepared in town. Reservations are a must but never a problem when you have them. Their specials are always excellent, but they do need to revise their menu periodically - I remember too much off of the current one. I've never had lunch there, but I understand it is equally as good as their dinner menu."

  • "I've visited Muse on many occasions for lunch with friends. The lunch and dinner menus are the similar with options for dinner or entree servings. My companion and I decided to have the drink special - strawberry infused vodka with blended with citrus juices. It was delicious. We chose the Ahi Nachos to share and a Fig and Goat Cheese and Roasted Beet Salads as we wanted to eat a light meal. As usual, the salads were excellent and the Ahi Nachos were a treat. Service was fine. Our server attentive, but not overbearing."

  • "I went their with my husband for no reason other than to have a nice meal on a Saturday night. Got there around 7:30 and there were three other groups. People at the front desk seemed a little surprised to see us, which makes me think they don't get a lot of business. My husband got the Kobe caprese burger (15 bucks) and I got the ribs (16 bucks). Both were really good. Ribs had an excellent rub and were fork tender. The burger had a good meat/topping ratio and looked wonderful. Each plate came with plenty of sides so you didn't leave hungry. Small desert menu, but they make everything from scratch. They also have a full bar. It would be nice to see this place get some more business, it has a lot of potenetional!"

  • "As a local, this is a pretty good place to go when the city is full of tourists, as most can't seem to find this place. Service was competent and friendly and the food was surprisingly good. The had a sable fish special that was quite nice and the ribs were done perfectly--tender, but yet still a nice chew off the bone with a rum based sauce that was a good change from your traditional sauces. The wine list was small, but the selections on it were decent and fairly priced. I believe this place is owned, or connected to Marx Bros Cafe, so that explains a lot. Also, I would recommend spending some time in the museum itself, given the size of a city like Anchorage, it is one of best done museums I've been to anywhere."
