I gave only three stars for service due to very poor manners and behavior of the maitre d'. It started the evening off on an bad footing. Our waiter was so kind and attentive, but not in an overbearing fashion. He gave us lots of time and paced the evening in a way that made us feel as though we were having dinner in his own house. Friendly to the family out for a day in a park, to those seeking a more formal venue. The food is wonderful, the staff lets you take your time between appetizers, salad and entree - no rushing you in and out here, and all in all a great dining experience.

The menu has gone through two major shifts and we are personally very happy with the current incarnation. Our server, Borhen Hammami, is a delight. Total gentleman, perfect, textbook service (this coming from a former server who is highly critical). The food this night was, as my husband said, the best he has ever had, anywhere. Asparagus salad for me followed by trout. Asparagus soup for him followed by halibut. Dessert for me was the buttermilk ice cream/waffle/rhubarb/butterscotch sauce. Yum. His was (don't remember, our minds are blanking...). Anyway, it was wonderful. We had 5:30 reservations because that was all that was available but it turned out to be perfect as the sun went down and the view remained beautiful. Food was just incredible, every step of the way. Our server was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive and helpful with wine and entree recommendations. Very pleased, we ordered the chef's tasting menu, they were able to substitute the lamb for fish. Service was impeccable. We will definitely come back. Arrived early and had oysters and a nice drink on the deck outside first, great drink menu. Tasting menu was really good. The chilled asparagus soup was absolutely the best I have ever tasted, and the duck breast was perfectly cooked and seasoned. In addition, the cocktails were generous and well-made. The added treat at the end of our meal was much appreciated as we were celebrating a birthday during our visit. We were in a side room, which was fairly quiet, and it was a beautiful day...with views that couldn't be beat. Our food was delicious, our waiter was very attentive without being annoying, and it was a wonderful two-hour lunch. In fact, I have told everyone since that meal about what a terrific experience it was. I have some dietary restrictions and was delighted to learn that a special menu had been created for me. Most places offer me a dry salad or a plain piece of fish, so this was a huge positive - everything sounded fantastic and the other diners tempted.
I would have given 5 stars based on the food had we not eaten there before. The food was excellent, but lacked the cutting edge creativity that kept us going back and being guests. I still rave about a watermelon starter that had been infused with extra flavor via a vacuum process that I had when the restaurant first opened.
