Murphy'sI am a Murphy's regular andI am a Murphy's regular and this is the first time I've ever had a complaint. I had a 12:30 reservation and arrived at 12;30 on the dot. I wanted a table on the terrace. There were two people in my party. I saw 2 empty tables on the terrace and each sat 4 people. Despite this, I had to wait almost 30 minutes for a table with only two seats to become available. They should have sat us at one of the tables that sat 4 people instead of making us wait. Aside from the waiting, our waitress was way to chatty and as a result, messed up our orders. It is typically a kind of date night for my husband and I, so the ambience and attentive service are greatly appreciated. We tend to take advantage of the bar area for a glass of wine on the recommendation of our server, and haven't been disappointed yet. Our meals, too have been memorable and worth the experience. When we do get in-town...we always try and have dinner at Murphy's.
The food contines to be exceptional.
Last night, we had the trout and it was THE BEST.
They also have the best roasted califlower and assortment of vegetables.
The beet salad was amazing.

The muscles appetizer is one of the best I've ever had, and the new North Georgia Trout dish is superb.
Gotta have the Desert Trio -- that Bonzo Cake is absolutely amazing -- the perfect way to round out a great dinner.

I had the monkfish in a ratatouille sauce, and it was delicious also. She had a glass of pinot gris and I had a French chardonnay--very light but with rounded out, buttery highlights. For dessert, mine was the key lime pie made with coconut and with mango (the mango added little, but the rest was great) and she had the white chocolate creme brulee. The food was fully up to our expectations, but the service was awkward at best. For an early (6pm) dinner, we were seated promptly but had an uncomfortable wait before placing our order. Everything was lovely as usual. My only disappointment is that we were given a less than desirable table while other "sunny" tables remained unoccupied. I understand the process of assigning tables to waiters for even distribution of work, and tips. Therefore we did not complain. But, I saw a couple request a different table that the small one they were taken to, next to us, in a dimly lit corner; and they were not accomodated. The waiter even made a "flip" comment to them as they were leaving the restaurant. That whole chain of events was not good.
