Muriel's Jackson SquareWow, another New Orleans gem!Celebrating a college graduation our family of five had a great time at Muriel's. The food was fantastic and the service even better. We will be back! Thanks5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal of the weekNice prefix menu with a good range of options but we opted for the regular menu because the Lamb Chops sounded fantastic (and they were). It was a bit noisy but the tables were comfortably spaced so you did not feel packed in and the wait staff was prompt and attentive, even ensuring they topped off the wine glasses regularly. Wine selection was thorough if not extensive, ranging from moderately priced everyday choices to celebration extremes of $500.00 or more. They did offer selections from multiple regions including French, Italian, and US. Overall a great night and a good value for the money, every course was excellent and the timing was spot on, we did not feel rushed nor we we ever wondering where the next course was.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOur 4th time, our traditionalOur 4th time, our traditional last evening's dinner. Very enjoyable as always. We had the double pork chop and the puppy drum with crawfish, crab and pecans. Very nice.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMStunningWe have an amazing dinning experience! The food was absolutely amazing! We are very much looking forward to another visit!!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA perfect place for brunch! We were seated by a window in the front dining room which was elegant. Our table location allowed us to see the activity outside, but was very private inside. Our brunch was absolutely the best! The food was well prepared and was delicious. In addition to the outstanding service and warm hospitality, there were musicians playing New Orleans jazz for entertainment. At the end of the meal women were given a long stemmed red rose for Mother's Day. It was all just perfect.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery accommodating! On a busy Mother's Day weekend they said they would do their best to seat our parties together and they did so very graciously - and gave all the mothers a rose!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMothers' Day BrunchGreat location near Jackson Square. Brunch was outstanding and service was first-rate.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench quarterVery good food, goat cheese apptezer crepe and double pork chop excellent. Service very good, attentive, typical NOLA noise level but that is expected. Nice location. Would recommend and would dine again.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMuriel'sGreat New Orleans restaurant with the character one would expect of one in the French Quarter. Super view of St Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square. The ambience sets the mood, the super service and excellent food made for an outstanding experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHauntingly good foodWe spent two full days hitting the food spots that were rated as th best NOLA has to offer. Muriel's was the best dinner we experienced. The pork chops were to die for, and the creme brûlée was one of the best I've ever had. I can't wait to go back and share the experience with my hubby. The upstairs was freaky. We had no idea of the history surrounding the building the restaurant is housed in. I'll be skipping that part next time.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent andThe food was excellent and so was the service. It is not expensive compared to others. Very elegant surroundings. I had the local Red Fish. It was excellent. My wife had the Duck which was also excellent. We went to Muriel's because it was recommended in Trip Advisors. We were not disappointed. This was our 47 anniversary dinner.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely delicious! We hadAbsolutely delicious! We had the 3 course meal: redfish cakes, BBQ shrimp, and chocolate cake! We will definitely return!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal we had in New Orleans! We just returned from New Orleans and literally ate and drank our way through the week. We took 4 friends here (2 locals) and all agreed that Muriels was the best meal we had the entire week!! Every dish we ordered was exceptional.. We will return here for sure and we have told many people this was our top pick!! You won't be sorry!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the crawfish crepes!Have been coming to Jazz Fest for many years now and always make sure we have our reservation at Muriel's. Great service and food! Love the crawfish crepes!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food...somewhat dodgy serviceGreat food...stunning actually but the service needs to be addressed as the wait between starter and main course was very poor by anyone's standards. improving service would make this restaurant perfect...5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMy sister and I had a wonderfulMy sister and I had a wonderful dining experience at Muriel's Jackson Square. My sister and I LOVED Muriel's Jackson Square. The service, food was superb.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMReasonably priced prix fixe menuEnjoyed the restaurant's decor and ambience; the prix fixe (sp?) menu was very reasonably priced and you can easily get full with the portions they serve. The service was outstanding, the food pretty good - but being from the Bay Area (and I know N.O.'s is known for its cuisine) I still think it could have been a bit tastier.
Overall I enjoyed the meal and the restaurant - without ordering any alcohol we stayed just under $100.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinner out in NOLA!This was our first stop for dinner out with friends. We were seated immediately (with a reservation through Open Table!) and we were put in their main dining room. Great view of Jackson Square. We got to see a couple of wedding processions go by. I got the swordfish, which was EXCELLENT. My friend enjoyed her shrimp and grits (a New Orleans standard). Two people at our table got the vegetarian plate and much to my surprise enjoyed it tremendously. They even have separate gluten free options. I got the blueberry cobbler with cream cheese ice cream for dessert - DIVINE! After dinner we walked on to Bourbon St because of this restaurant's location. I would definitely come here again when I am in town.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Bread Pudding EverFour of us dined and had delicious apps and entrees with the exception of the bayoubaisse which wasn't that great. Everything else was pretty great. Do not miss the bread pudding!!!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable nightWith guests in town, Muriel's provided a wonderful experience with great New Orleans flair. Food was delicious and there was an excellent gluten free menu a available for one of our guests. Crabmeat and oyster appetisers are terrific.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Lunch Burger in N.O.!The burgers are ground up filet mignon -- OUT OF THIS WORLD!
And the crepes are amazing!
Not a great menu for Sunday brunch, but amazing during the week!!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAs good as ever.Four of us had a wonderful window seat to watch a rainy Sunday night on Jackson Square. We all ordered from the prix fixe menu and there wasn't a single misstep. Our choices included gumbo, turtle soup, salad, puppy drum, bayoubaisse, and chicken. Desserts were bread pudding, butterscotch pudding and chocolate cake. Nothing was left. We also had a reasonably priced chardonnay. Service was friendly and professional.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time atThis was our first time at the restaurant and weren't sure what to expect. Everything was wonderful - the service was attentive, the food was delicious, and the restaurant itself was beautifully decorated!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMVery cool spotHadn't even noticed this spot - perhaps the assumption that anything on the Square won't be great. But glad I trusted OT. The room has this old wood cozy feel. Space between the tables. The wine list had enough gems to find a few for us new world red types. Only gripe - it took until mid - main course for them to finally bring it up... without an apology nor something to compensate for having it nearly end of the meal... even a comp cuppa coffee? Despite that misstep - the prix fixe dinner was spectacular. Rich deep flavors - plenty of spice, depth, texture, colors. Yum. While not the inventive brilliance of Stella - it joins the must go list.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food in a great southernGreat food in a great southern atmosphere- felt like eating in an old southern mansion4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMMuriel's is the best of the best!We had the opportunity to eat at several restaurants in New Orleans and Muriel's was the best of the best! It was perfect. Everything was exceptional from the greeting, to the drink server, to the waiter to the food. We could not have been more pleased. This was our first trip to New Orleans and we were not sure what to expect as far as good restaurants were concerned. If you go to Muriel's you will not be disappointed.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat staff, excellent food,Great staff, excellent food, and $4 martini's or bloody's at lunch. Add that to a perfect Jacson Square location and it's a must!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI along with 4 of my associatesI along with 4 of my associates had a great time at Muriel's on Monday evening. The staff was very pleasant and made sure that we had a quality experience throughout our entire evening. The food came out in a timely manner and as always was absolutely phenomenal..4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMCocktails took a long timeCocktails took a long time to come out, but other than that, everything was fabulous!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely SettingMuriel's offers great selection in an elegant setting we opted for the fixed-price menu, which included appetizer, entree and dessert. Picturesque setting on Jackson Square.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench Quarter Star - Muriel'sMuriels proved to be worthy of the French Quarter. As a recurring visitor to the French Quarter, I am making an effort to try different restaurants and hotels throughout the Vieux Carre. Muriels location is certainly a plus, but add in the fact that it is situated alongside one of the oldest hotels in the quarter and just across the street from the St Louis Cathedral and well, need I say more! Location is everything, and Muriel's is perfect. From there of course it only gets better. The ambience, the service and the quality of food and drink places Muriels easy in the four and half star rating. I would give it five stars except that the dress code is casual but should be business casual.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food and service.Outstanding food and service. One of the best overall dining experiences we've had in a long time.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently good experience! This is our third visit to this restaurant and each time has been consistently very good.
The prix fixe menu offers excellent value on very good food.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's hard to come here andIt's hard to come here and not have the prix fixe dinner. The double cut pork chop was great. It would have been nice if the gorgonzola prosciutto tart weren't just garnished with 1/4 teaspoon of prosciutto. And the desserts were delicious. Assuming that this is a tourist restaurant, everything was surprisingly good.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Experience!Loved everything about Muriel's! While waitng for the rest of our group to arrive we met Andrea in the bar where we ordered a bottle of wine from her; she was so nice & professional. Once seated, our Wine Steward was Jessica, she was a lot of fun & professional. Our Waiter was Dustin, he was helpful, fun & professional! Loved the gluten-free menu options; everything that our group ordered was beyond delicious, everyone was very happy. I would love the recipe for the smokey cream sauce on one of the tornedos of beef!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodThe ambiance was great. It had a little courtyard within the restaurant next to the bar. It was unique. I had a "honey child" martini and it was very good, not too sweet. The food, well let's just say I was enjoying every bit i ate. I had the gorgonzola prosciutto tart which was an amazing appetizer and for my main meal roasted half chicken(delicious). This is a restaurant we will definitely come back to.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMDeserving of good reputation!Muriel's more than lived up to expectations. Although many diners were dressed casually, place has an air of gracious formality. Wine list is extensive; we were happy to have a nice selection of wines by the glass too. The Picket Fence pinot noir was a good choice for both of us. Menu choices were not "run of the mill." tournedos in three sauces was done just right, and bayoubaisse was a tasty mélange of seafoods. For starters we enjoyed gogonzola tart with prosciutto and shrimp remoulade both were flavorful and reasonable portions. No room for dessert, though several items looked tempting. Service got off to a slow start but once we ordered, everything went smoothly. Not rushed but prompt and comfortably paced.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAn absolutely wonderful experienceAn absolutely wonderful experience from the warm welcome at the door to the exemplery service throughout the dinner. I had the pork chop (I know very un-New Orleans) but oh my god, what an incredible pork chop it was. My dinner companion and I both went with the Prix Fixe menu and it provided great value. I had the red fish for the app and the creme brulee for desert....delish!
I highly recommend this restaurant.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMRedfish and jazzRedfish was excellent, crisp and served over tasty orzo with crawfish. Jazz was just the right final touch4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBest of the BunchAte in New Orleans four nights, and this was our favorite hands down and our daughter and her husband concurred. We ordered extra sauces for all of our dishes...they were "no problem" and no extra charge. The filet mignons came with three different sauces. We asked that the food service be timed in a particular way and it was no problem. Food is beautifully prepared and out-of-this- world tasty. It's right off Jackson Square, so it's easy to find. It's white tablecloth, so dress nicely. The locals do...even when streaming in from the end of the French Quarter Jazz Fest at 7 p.m Reservations a must. By the way...try the puppydrum and the bread pudding with extra sauce on the side :) There's nothing not to love.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMuriel's in the French quarterMuriel's in the French quarter is an awesome dining experience. You should make reservations, though.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGood service and the foodGood service and the food was outstanding. The waiter had a bit of an attitude but perhaps he was trying to create a Parisian atmosphere. Loved the fried alligator!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and the service wereThe food and the service were equally outstanding!!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMfood was excellent. We arrivedfood was excellent. We arrived with one extra person in our party that was unplanned, and they were unable to accommodate, so 2 members of our group had to sit at the bar. we were a little bummed by that. servers were very friendly, but it took a very long time to get our entrees. This was a busy weekend, so I understand how things can get backed up. Overall, it was a great experience.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMuriel's is a good place to dineWe have dined at Muriel's many times and have never been disappointed. On our most recent visit the food was even better. We always have the crawfish and goat cheese crapes to start and we both followed that with the blackened redfish which was very very good.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMuriel's is our favorite NewMuriel's is our favorite New Orleans restaurant and we all know that New Orleans is noted for its wonderful food but Muriels is just special. Don't miss their pecan encrusted fish. We were there during the French Quarter Festival so the entire area was crowded and noisy but Muriel's was able to handle the crush.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Service! We were here very recently for brunch and had a couple of friends in town so we decided to go for dinner. We really love finding places that will accommodate late night reservations and have great service despite starting so close to closing time. Muriel's was wonderful about that in particular - we enjoyed our wine and all of the food we ordered and we weren't rushed at any point, even though we were there until about 11:30 on a Wednesday. Really fantastic!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench quarter findLoved it, awesome Louisiana cuisine and atomosphere, right smack in the middle of the French quarter. Great friendly service!!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Jazz brunch at Muriel'sLoved our jazz brunch at Muriel's, food was very yummy, great service, the place is great. Our 6 year old daughter loved it too, she devoured her brunch which is unusual and she got a colouring pack to keep her amused. Would definitely recommend this place, and we would go back. Enjoyed the whole experience, even got to go to the seance room upstairs and check out the table set for the resident ghost.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA true dining experience isA true dining experience is something I don't find very often, but this was one.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
