  • "Ordered the Omelet said it came with Choron Sauce and it had hollandaise and it totally ruined it."

  • "I told my fiance she could pick any restaurant in town to go to for her birthday, and she chose Muriel's. The drinks were great, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was awesome. Is it a bit pricey? Yes, but I feel that I got my money's worth."

  • "Impressive cocktails and incredible food. Service was impeccable!"

  • "Loved it! I have visited New Orleans on two vacations in the past couple of months, and this was by far my favorite meal of the trip. For those wanting the New Orleans experience, I recommend the alligator appetizer and the BBQ shrimp entree. A lot of food for the price, I was very impressed. My girlfriend did a peach salad and the chicken entree, both of which she loved as well. Service was very timely and friendly, and you can't beat the location of the restaraunt. We were looking for a special little date night, but I think this setting serves the purpose of all looking for a 5-star meal."

  • "What a romantic site with food to die for...an absolute gem in quality, cost and ambience."

  • "What a great experience. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The best meal we ate while in New Orleans. After the drink server (yes, there are two) took our wine order she came back and told us that the wine that she recommended was very expensive and she did not know our price range. It was well outside of what we wanted to spend on wine, so she saved me a good chunk of money."

  • "Muriel's is highly rated and even locals assured us of a solid performance record, so off we went...first night in NO, and my birthday to boot. While the food was mostly just "ok", the service was a bit overbearing and a little condescending, and the whole experience a little disappointing. Neither of our two waiters were knowledgeable about the wine list, nor offered to find someone for us who was, instead making clearly uninformed comments and suggestions based on price. A few notable menu items: the gumbo was good as was the bouillabaisse, but the peach salad was boring as was the flank steak. Solid creme brûlée and bread pudding! Save your money for something better... It's out there!"

  • "If you like classic movies and good food, this is a great place for you! I found it online and immediately hightailed it there for dinner. I made a reservation for that evening, just in case. I don't know if it was necessary, but after travelling that day, I figured I wouldn't want to wait once I arrived. The room was lovely (old cinema re-done), they were playing one of my childhood favorites (Angel and the Badman with John Wayne), and the food and wine were very good. The service started out great, but towards the end, our waiter disappeared on me, and thus I never got to try my second glass of wine. But, everything else was great and worth it!"

  • "Muriel's in Jackson Square New Orleans provides southern charm with a hint of a Ghost story. Food and service are typical of an upscale dining experience found in the French Quarter. If you go, ask for a tour."

  • "I've never had a bad meal in New Orleans, but Muriel's is in the top 5 of places you have to try in the Big Easy. The seafood melts in your mouth, and the service is exemplary."

  • "Came here a few years ago for brunch and recently returned to celebrate a friend's birthday while we were in town. Everything was as wonderful as i remembered, from the brandy milk punch and fresh baked bread to the shrimp and goat cheese crepes and seafood gumbo. servers and management were attentive and even provided a small dessert for the birthday. Everyone commented that it was the best meal we had in New Orleans."

  • "We visited Muriel's for Sunday brunch. It was very charming and the service was exceptional. I had ordered the special entree, but the waiter must have confused my order for another dish. The dish was good and the hostess gave me a order of the side dish from the original entree when I questioned why the dish wasn't what I expected. I really appreciated that. My only issue was that the jazz trio didn't play for long. It may have been the case that they moved to other rooms throughout the restaurant. Overall, excellent brunch."

  • "Excellent meal in a beautiful restaurant in the French quarter - what a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday! This birthday had a "0" in it, so the evening needed to be special and Muriel's made it so!"

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and wanted someplace special. We really did well at Muriel's. The food was outstanding, but we expected that at this pricepoint. What made the evening special was the friendly and attentive service. Wonderful experience. Be sure and ask about the upstairs and the haunted history. Really a superb time. Thank you."

  • "This is one of the best restaurants we experienced in New Orleans. Located in the Jackson Square area, we were afraid that it might just be a tourist trap, but nothing could be further from the truth. We both chose the Table D'HOTE menu, and it is excellent value for money. All three courses were well presented and tasted delicious. Both our waiters were professional and friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very comfortable. The food, service and attention to detail were all very impressive and we have no hesitation in recommending Muriel's Jackson Square."

  • "Ate there June 2014 with my wife and 7 year old son. I had the Drum (local fish) which was fantastic. The ice cream sandwich desert was also delicious, as was everything else. It's in an historic house and the decor and ambience are great. Kid friendly. Not cheap but well worth it. Also a great location as it's right in Jackson Square and probably the nicest part of the French Quarter."

  • "I wouldn't recommend it because there are so many MUCH BETTER places to go. It's in a fun location, and looks charmingly old school. My creole tomato salad with crab was fresh and delicious, but the BBQ shrimp was so salty it was hard to eat. Service was adequate. I wouldn't tell anyone NOT to go, just wouldn't encourage it specifically. Other diners with me seemed happy enough (though they had run out of the special they were promoting)."

  • "I am a part-time local. Muriel's is the most consistent fine dining restaurant in the French Quarter with a casual atmosphere. I feel confident in recommending Muriel's for lunch, brunch and dinner."

  • "I hosted a business dinner for six travelers from out of state. With the reputation of New Orleans dining, I needed a place that would provide a good dining experience that reflected the best of New Orleans. Muriel's was ideal and I would highly recommend it to others."

  • "Muriel's was recommended by a few friends and it was spectacular I think it was the best meal I had on this trip. We were greeted and seated immediately. The servers were incredibly attentive. I don't think my water glass ever reduced to half full. The food presentation was awesome and the taste was beyond words. I had blackened redfish with a blue crab dressing and grits. We had a side order of pecan sweet potatoes. For dessert we shared bread pudding. It was s completely wonderful experience."

  • "Amazing service - dropped my knife & they nearly came running across the restaurant with another. Very good food - did the 3 course menu ($38). Mixed drink may have been a little weak for New Orleans standards."

  • "We dined on a Wednesday. Wine list is good and has a few values in bold. Our servers, Aaron and Stacey, were both knowledgeable. Their service was impeccable. Muriel's had a four course offering highlighting the creole tomato and soft-shelled crab, which are in season. We had the creole tomato and watermelon gazpacho to start. Next, the tomato and crabmeat salad had a wonderful vinaigrette. We had the crawfish and goat cheese crepes, possibly the best appetizer we've ever had. For entrées, my wife had the tornadoes of beef; fork-tender, three sauces...delicious. I ordered the red fish which was cooked perfectly. It came with a crabmeat stuffing that is truly a Cajun masterpiece. Dessert was flourless chocolate and a very creamy creme brulé."

  • "Food was fine, not great. Wait staff interrupts a lot. They're just doing their job but no finesse. Nice place to meet up but not for foodies."

  • "Although hyped to be a tourist location, the food and service were excellent and I would highly recommend this restaurant to tourists and locals alike."

  • "Went there for Jazz brunch on Father's Day. The restaurant interior was beautiful and the jazz band rotated between the two main dining rooms. The food was very good in general. I'd give major prop to its BBQ shrimp and grits. Servers are knowledgeable and efficient. On our way out, the owner even gave us a house hot sauce as Father's Day gift."

  • "While this is one of our favorite restaurants we got seared in the section where there were all kids. It totally ruined the experience, you could not even hear the 3 piece band. Food was average which is not the experience we had the week prior. Maybe it was the holiday but glad this wasn't our first time there!"
